I don't think the $100 is going to be a barrier for anyone who likes the idea of the Scorpio, but people here are discussing how the pricing is going to impact the success of the console as well. If I wanted the Scorpio I would pay the extra $100, but would the average Joe pay $500 when the Xbox One is $250 in most places? even less in the holiday season for the XO.

This reminds me a lot of the speculation about the Switch launch price. The question is about price perception. If Scorpio can go toe to toe with a quality PC, is $500 really that much? Conversely, if it's all bark and no bite (tons of horsepower with nothing to show for it as far as the average consumer is concerned) is it too much of a gamble?
