I wouldn't base the response of a few Twitch trolls as how the community acts. Recently, they raised a ton of money for charity, one of the community members is flying out someone to EVO, and another one is flying out 3 on their own money. Gofundmes for accidents get filled up and taken care of, everyone is supportive, and most want the scene to grow and include as many people as possible. Chris G is an anomaly even among the top players. Unfortunately, that's what gets on the news.

Which is not to say we don't have issues, and this dumbass should get heat. But for every Chris, there are 10 Justin Wongs or Daigos willing to be helpful to everyone inside and outside the community like family.

Chris is an embarrassment.

Had heard this guy was an ass but I'd assumed general dickery, not 'tis racist and kinda sexist bullshit.

Hope he has to face consequences but from what some people in this thread are saying I'm not too optimistic.

Prety much, sadly it's the bad stuff that sticks.
I remember when a Korean Tekken player (JDCR) was brought over to Peru and had a terrible experience, he complained about it and it made it everywhere, it was even on the local news, but when Justin Wong was here and had a superb experience, no one bothered to report on it.

That always seems to be the copout, "We'll all of this racist misogynistic stuff happened but they raised money!". Yeah they raised money, Donald Sterling also donated a ton to the local NAACP chapter in LA and that didn't stop him from being a racist person that worked against minority tenants. Then, when people want TO's and players to be held accountable for the negative stuff, they fall back on the "Culture". There's a lot of people who had to get over a cultural issues too after the civil rights act got passed.

EG bread and butter esports team is their Dota 2 squad. It's a pretty diverse squad with a folks from Denmark, Sweden, Pakistan, America ( Indian ) and Uzbekistan / Canada.

I'll be very surprised the CEO don't drop him after his remarks on black women. Then it will just show EG to be a trash organization.

I agree. I always liked watching him on screen because he was an uprising star in the FGC. Now he acts like he's in a gang and says derogatory racist remarks.

The FGC shouldn't act like they're so underground. More and more people are reading this and money is being spent to actually fund these events.

I could not see him holding a professional job with those types of comments. It's morally degrading for one, but companies don't want that type of attitude. I'm sure there's tons of people out there who hate video games, but it's never crossed my mind that one person is worse than others. That goes the same for gaming.

To me, careers in professional gaming are hard to come by and they're short lived in different genres. This guy is just going to make his stay a lot shorter and a lot more harder to enjoy around other players.

His attitude is one of a teenager's if you ask me. Very immature talking about having sex and racist remarks when you're suppose to be a competitive player.
