Dragon Ball FighterZ (PC/XB1/PS4, BN/ASW, UE4, early 2018, beta Sum 2017) E3 trailer

Speaking of wtf are they fighting on in that gif above? Is that a meteorite? Wonder if there's a story reason for it in-game cause we've never seen that as a battleground in Dragonball.

God damn, that's one pretty looking game. The Xrd style is a thing of beauty.

More on the way!

DESTROYED

Already in my top 3 E3 trailers of all time: this is the Dragon Ball game I always dreamed, oh my God, I was so not ready for this glorious video, day fucking one, even if it has only 8 characters, 7 stages, etc. I will buy all the DLC for that game.

Time to change my pants.

Hrm I'll make a quick roster prediction for this:

Goku
Vegeta
Teen Gohan
Adult Gohan
Future Trunks
Piccolo
Gotenks
Freeza
Android 17
Android 18
Cell
Fat Boo
Super Boo
Kid Boo
Beerus
Hit
Goku Black
Jiren
Cauliflowa
Kale
Bardock
Broli

The overall style is very nice. Love the linework and the idea behind the effects look very nice.

Not... entirely sure on the cohesion? The exploding blocks look more like hand-animation than the actual environments. Will Buu's BEAT INTO THE GROUND actually permanently scar the stage texture, or will it disappear after the attack is over?

Those HUGE city destroying kamehamehas, will they be cosmetic damage to the stage mid battle, or are they only "DESTROY!" style comboable final attacks that can't be used during gameplay?

Calling the game a "3 on 3" fighter seemed a little wonky so far? Isn't it more like "1 character and 2 assist"? Do you fully get to play / switch between the 3? Via this system, will there be some assist-only characters, or is everyone equally playable?

I'm not PERSONALLY a fan of everything having that XRD level of "framiness" to it; there are some moments in Super and Original Z that just look much smoother than that. I kinda wish they'd taken advantage of that here, at some places. I'd love to see Gameplay at "Tv animation" mode, and then have super go fully "OVA mode", for example. But it's great for the overall work, so I can live with it, surely. It's especially worth it if it leads to a larger, yet still developed, roster.

GREAT to hear about the Beta, and playable on the Show Floor. We needed something like this at the conferences. Not just MS, but at E3 in general. I definitely wanna see more before I get fully hyped however, as I know ASW fighters very often don't hold my attention the way I'd like them to.

Been waiting for the Tournament arc to finish airing before binge-watching my way through it, but this is way too exciting, so time to catch up on the latest episodes now ...and impulse-buy -Revelator + Rev2-...

I'm so goddamn excited for this. Seriously. Did anyone else notice that when Goku deflected those shots they destroyed the house in the background? SO HYPE.

It's probably a way to execute the Goku vs Beerus battle without leaving them floating in space for one stage.

It could be just for the presentation, but now I'm hyped for no life/time/meter displays (at least as a default option)!

Gotta say though that Dragon Ball Z cast is not exactly what I look for in competitive fighting games

I mean, more than half the roster is going to be super saiyans with beams and larger beams

Still really happy this game exists

It's gorgeous

In the leaked pictures there are 3 lifebars so its a 3v3 fighters. Think of it like MVC 2 and 3 where you make a team of 3 and can call assists and tag them in and out.

Yeah, it seems like ASW and Bandai are going for that MAHVEL crowd, and if the MvCI leaks turn out to be true, it seems like the investment is going to pay off bigtime. Not like it wasn't going in the first place, but I'm sure recent developments will make more people turn their eyes to this game instead of MvC.

female saiyans will likely be DLC. they know how to milk people.
Well primarily the reason why I think it could be possible to get them in the core game is because Dragonball games have been consistently lacking in female representation for ages now. This is a good opportunity to mend that issue with two of the most popular characters in Dragonball Super right now. In the past they've had to rely on Android 18 and even randomly putting Zangya into the games to mend this issue.

I cannot believe I'm living in a world where Arc System Works is going to out-Mahvel Capcom. This is my game of the show at the moment, looking forward to seeing some footage come out for this.

I need me some Krillin and destructo disc goodness.

Also gimmie Future Trunks. Z or Super, I don't mind. Just let me have that Spirit Sword as an ultimate super finisher thing.
