You know what's really sad ?

Now that I noticed it, I am permanently triggered by the fact his sign on the chest is on the wrong side.

Because instead of removing the sign from the design they decided to have it switch side whenever Goku switches side.

Can't unsee.

Consider it an almost insane dedication to recreating a 2D fighter, limitations and all. This is a game engine that creates 3d models of squash/bounce smoke effects and frames itself up to feel like animation. They're absolute madmen.

I'm only saying 30 FPS because the gamersyde vid is 30 FPS.

Which means the source was. So ... that's usually not a good sign.

I do not know what it runs at considering the game is animated at specific frames.
Guilty Gear Xrd runs at 60fps but the animations aren't
 
For GGXrd ASW used UE3 but most of the tech they used were stuff they added to the engine themselves, that might be the case here too, though some of the things they had to write themselves for UE3(like toying with perspective) is available in UE4 by default.

I imagine they also wanted UE4 because it's way easier to support modern platforms.

It also confirms that Goku transforms during his intro, and that SSJ3 is his ultimate attack, so no transformation for him.

This is going to bug me until we get confirmation about how they work. I personally don't want to select multiple Gokus.
 
17 might not even be in the game.

I think I enjoy the concept of a DBZ fighting game more than their execution.

Let's hope they can nail the gameplay this time around.

I appreciate that rather than having me waste time transforming to a state I already want to always be in anyway. This might mean though that you start all fights as SSJ, that SSJ3 is a Super Combo Attack and SSJB is an Install Super.
 
Huh. That looks better than I expected even.

I am starting to wonder if this game is going to eat up MvC's lunch.

The gameplay seems more in line with the frantic Mahvel gameplay and speed.

Still holding out hope that Capcom is just doing a bad job showcasing the game and everything else I have heard personally is just concern trolling.

UE3 and 4 are great for how malleable and customizable they are from my perspective, despite some devs sticking closer to the base tools than others

Licking my chops for this.

A little bummed there doesn't seem to be any beam struggles but this will certainly be the best DB game since Budokai 3.

Guilty Gear's engine needs to be used for every anime/manga game honestly

The shading is actually done manually, rather than using some kind of real time lightning (although there's also some lightning on top of the manual shading for the blueish hue of beams and such) which helps making it look closer to 2d. The issue with that though is that it clearly limits how much content they can add.
 
They just did Golden Frieza's transformation right in the recent episode of Super.

You know, God level powers have a diffevent Aura around them and Xenoverse 2 fails at it.

Pretty much all my hype towards the new Marvel vs Capcom got up and transferred to this game. This look exactly what I want from a Dragon Ball fighter.

I will always be on the Yamcha defense force.

- Wolf Fang Fist
- Wolf Fang Whirlwind Claw
- Blinding Wolf Fang Fist
- Neo Wolf Fang Fist
- Spirit Ball
- Extra Large Spirit Ball

Alternate spirit ball into some baseball pitches, give him his bazooka and sword from Dragon Ball. Yamcha could have an awesome move set.
 
So it looks like Super Saiyan -only Goku?

I'm OK with that. Streamline the characters. Goku didn't have a non-SSJ fight after the Frieza fight, nor did Vegeta, as far as I'm aware. I'm not a huge fan of in-game transformations that not every character has access to, nor am I a huge fan of a game being cluttered with various forms of a single character.

I'd be fine with just having Super Saiyan Goku with a SSJ3 super-move, and Super Saiyan Blue Goku. Same with Vegeta.
