Dragon Ball FighterZ (PC/XB1/PS4, BN/ASW, UE4, early 2018, beta Sum 2017) E3 trailer

Cool thing about 17 is his mainly a kick based charecter.
Ki barrier is awesome too.

Diversity in movesets is what's important honestly.

So according to Bamco Twitter this is playable at the show?

I need gameplay footage asap!! Lol

Yep, guess we can expect lots of gameplay footage once the E3 doors open... unless filming is not allowed but i think it is since we will get a beta late summer.

How do people think each character's fighting style should be?

I feel like Vegeta makes sense as a more zoning oriented character who focuses on ki attacks considering how he's the biggest ki spammer in the show

Buu would probably be really weird and technical

If Piccollo is in he makes sense as a Zoner given he uses a lot of ki moves plus stretchy arms

I want Beerus to be an Akuma esc character with huge damage but low health

Man look at Gohan how pissed he looks.

How can one game look so good?

How often does he even use that shit? Like I'm trying to remember one and I think was from DB.

I wonder how well Extreme Butoden did for Namco Bandai that they decided to go ahead with this ambitious looking game. I think I'll never get bored of playing DBZ fighting games, even if they repeat the same story.

I wonder if the part when Goku deflects those beams is what happens when you Instant Block them, assuming that is in the game.

Really interesting in what all the mechanics are, can't wait til we get more footage.

Holy crap that was one of the hypest trailers ever! I hope to god it is a legit competitive game that the fgc will fully embrace. I hope every character is unique too!

So I'm assuming the roster is going to be limited to Dragon Ball Z characters, and anything later will hit in the inevitable Fighter Super sequel.

Broly is practically guaranteed to be in since he's shoehorned into everything nowadays.

I'd say the movie characters and a few Super characters from the
Goku Black
arc are the most likely post Z additions.

Game of the show for me thus far and I'm not even generally one for fighting games. I definitely hope it draws from Super as there's some character from there that could be great to see here.

I'm curious if when they say 'train' they mean in terms of practicing different characters or if there's some other mechanic like an RPG system. I suppose the former is more likely though.

There's no chance this game has 1v1, right? I imagine it could be nice every now and then.

I imagine individual character movesets will be simplified (and honestly this works since most DBZ characters don't have a ton of distinct techniques) to make it easier to learn multiple for the 3v3 setting, so I kind of doubt we'll get a 1v1 character mode.

I don't know if the end game will be that easy to organize. I could see the whole roster working as a mix of mixup, charge, and zoning, with some leaning more in one direction than another.

I mean, I think it's important for a competitive fighting game to give different characters distinct playstyles, especially in a 3v3 game like this. If everyone plays too similarly it's boring

17 would be a rushdown character for sure. The 1 Z fighter who barely uses ki. Plus hes got all sorts of cool melee attacks in the show. Kicks, grabs, weird tangsudo-ish strikes.
Piccolo would literally be Dhalsim, the fighter that was based on him.
Tien's weird. DB Tien could have been grappler, but Z Tien is zoner for sure
Broly, Im not a big fan of, but he could be a cool ass grapler so I've got mixed feelings.

Man, remember when Gohan was a badass? I miss it. :(

I haven't been keeping up with the Japanese Super episodes - watching the Funimation dub - but I've heard he finally puts his gi back on and kicks some ass in a later season.

You do realize that 17 also has that OP barrier, right?

What I love about having characters being specialists is that you make a team with pros and cons.

You take out the Vegeta zoner and then you send 17 for close combat murder.

Please arc.

The barrier protects him but he couldn't have a lot of options from afar.

Anyway I imagine 17 with a lot of close counters and parry moves.

Yup, we can proudly say that
Gohan is back & better than ever.

I wonder if we could get a goten+kid Trunks tag team as a single character with Gotenks as a super. ONly thing that makes me doubt it is that we're already having a 3v3 format as a default, so they'd probably want to avoid tagteam type characters

Arc Sys > Capcom at this point.

They make way cooler looking 2D fighters.

you've no idea of what you're talking about.

it's actually a lot worse than what you think :p go watch the "marvel vs capcom infinite" gameplay trailer, now that you've been watching "dragon ball fighter z" footage. You may have to close the video midway through, probably.
