Sony E3 Conference confirmed for usual time (Monday 6pm PT)

I love that Sony isn't afraid to show games that are a ways off.
Firstly, games which are close to release I've almost always already decided if I will buy it or not, and I don't need E3 to showcase more gameplay, they can do that elsewhere online. E3 should be about the surprise and the celebration.
And secondly, certainly since the second half of last year Sony have had a killer lineup, consistent and excellent games, so it isn't like there's not a lot of stuff to play in the meantime, so let the E3 announcements be stuff for the future.

Yes, Chris Charla (ID@Xbox guy) just got asked by Geoff on his YouTube show and his respond was along the lines of "yes, we don't like keeping games of other platforms".

Well said, I like this Chris guy. Evil Sony has always lock down exclusive to their platform, making me spend thousands of dollars every year. I'm glad the world has someone like him, so I can just continue playing those xbox exclusive on PC.

Is this date right for Sony's? I've seen Monday, Tuesday, 8PM est, 9PM est... But Monday the 12th at 9PM est is what I've seen most. Still accurate?

Beside Monster Hunter what other Japanese games you guys think will be there?
-Knack 2
-The port of the Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade game that was leaked
-Resident Evil Remake 2
-Only 1 another Capcom game: DMC5, MH World, Deep Down or a new IP
-A From Software game (seems that it won't be Bloodborne 2)
-FFVIIR (very unlikely, it has been delayed)
-3 seconds of Dragon Quest XI and the Yakuza game that is being released this summer in the west in the typical video sizzle with many other games
-Shenmue 1 & 2 HD Collection (but it would make more sense in PSX because it's more niche and PSX is more about niche fan service)
-Knack 2
-Knack 3
-Knack VR

Its just that its a game that doesnt really need to be remade. It aged well.
Those controls haven't aged well at all, though.

Crash would be proud.

What are the chances of Knack 3 getting an announcement here? Let's not forget about Knack 4

A lot of people were asking why this thread wasn't wilding out like Microsoft's thread was doing so, and I believe you have you answer now. Sony just needs to show some good games and some release dates and I'll be satisfied. I learned years ago to quit expecting these companies to give us the world on a platter.

I am just assuming it will be back considering it will take place in the Shrine Auditorium again, but I guess there is no official confirmation, so I could be wrong.

I see.

Shadow of the Colossus Remake reveal + orchestra will kill me

Pls God

Yup. Nothing will ever top the E3 of dreams. All you gotta do is show games, make sure each demo/presentation is entertaining and the right length. And pace the conference right.

You do those things you're going to have an amazing show.

if they don't show dreams and announce a date for that beta that was supposed to be last year, man I'll be peeved :(

Last we saw of it in any substantial way was like 9 months ago on a stream they did, and since then its been pretty radio silent outside of one presentation at VFX festival 2017 by the main artist on the team.

This game couldn't be more silent, and I think sony's presser is the best place to just go all out in showing it. Release date, beta date, show off the crazy creating stuff outside of sculpting (we still haven't seen the "logic" nor the music creation which we know are in the game)

Just do whatever Sony is doing last year. Have the developer silently walks up to the stage, holds the controller, cinematic starts, game plays. Don't have to waste the time to introduce how hardworking they are, or whatever new type of axe they are using, world debut of the brand new axe. Save ALLL of those for the panel/post show.

  • Megaton firmware update

Now seriously. If it isn't PS1/PS2/PSP/Vita BC then maybe it's PS now related. In this case it may be:
-To release it in Sonyland countries like Spain (PS4 vs Xbox is like 9:1 here, and I have symetric 300MB internet)
-Adding PS4 and maybe PS1 and PS2 games (great deal to bring PS4 games to PC)

Maybe they bring back to PS4 their 1 hour free game trials for PS+ as they had in PS3.

Or maybe they copied this "Netflix for videogames" that MS announced recently.

They aren't silent. Media Molecule periodically shows gameplay showcasing editor stuff from the game, typically with friends like Shu Yoshida.

I'd show its single player campaign, would announce the release date and a beta or demo available just after the conference.

I was joking. Knack 3 won't be announced. Same goes with Knack VR. In fact, I think that if they show Knack 2 in the conference would be during 2 or 3 seconds in a video sizzle. The world only can handle a single Knack game per conference.

Why would they remake Shadow of the Colossus? It's already perfect.

I don't know how many of you know this but the original original pitch for Shadow was a four player co-op game. You had to work together to take down a colossus. I have always thought that given enough power and tech Sony will maybe revisit this idea. It would be a very different kind of game for their first party portfolio as well. But they would probably have to make it without Ueda-san.

I hope they do a "PS Vita TV games on PS4" thing, would love to play a 4K Persona 4: Golden.

The fact that Shinobi (in his blog) says SP's new game could be saved for PSX..makes me think that it'll be saved for PSX.
