Ill definitely get this. I adored the first game, such a great ride that was. Although i didnt really want or expect this. Curious to see what they do with it. IM more excited for the real LIS 2 right now.

SPECULATION/SPOILERS FROM LIFE IS STRANGE:
I totally feel the voice change will be a plot twist. I mean the voice actress is still on the project. Come on. And time travel is involved since we see Chloe in a car with her dad getting hit when she was never in the car with him.

Edit: OMFG If SE makes this exclusive for their store. I will never be more pissed in my life if I miss out on it.

Wow, so unnecessary to be rude. I did read your post. You asked how would the time reversal mechanic work with Chloe. I said she can't, as in they aren't using it, therefore when making choices you should think it through before you make Chloe say choice A, B, or C.

In regards to your speculation
I feel like it may be a dream sequence or something when Chloe is in the car because I don't recall her ever saying she was in the car with her dad when he died.
It's been awhile since I played it though so I could be forgetting some details.
 
maybe Chloe is a unreliable narrator or maybe max is reading Chloe journal. then you can keep the rewind power in game. then you don't have to change the core game play-loop of life is strange

could be Rachel, Max also Changed the past of Chloe's life, my guess its gonna be Donnie Darko the game, without the creepy ghost rabbit guy

(LiS season 1, Ep 4 spoilers) I think it's a
dream sequence too. Or maybe that's another guy? Remember that Chloe's dad dies when her and Max are like 12, as episode 4 begins with young-Max letting Chloe's dad take the keys and drive to meet Chloe's Mom at work where he gets into the car crash en route.
 
Really curious how they'll handle the story in this game since we "know" what will happen eventually. Still, I loved the original so I'm in for this.
 
I loved LiS but not really sold on this. Will wait and see.

Smart move making it free on Ps+ this month though. Check it out if you haven't.

A prequel to one of the best games ever? This is hella good! August can't come soon enough. Guess I'll be playing an episodic game day one for the first time, as I always wait until all episodes are released before playing it.

While playing LiS, about a year after it came out, I felt like I missed out by not being able to discuss the game episode by episode on places like GAF. Looking back over the LiS OT, I felt like it would have been a lot of fun to speculate over the game in real time, and uncover clues and discuss theories.
 
I'm so happy.

I'm glad we're getting a prequel and season 2 eventually. It's just weird we're getting this from a different studio. Hope it's good...
 
I can't believe this is out so soon! I loved Chloe's character, and really heartily enjoyed the first game. I hope something like the photo mechanic is back, that was a ton of fun to go through chapters and look for photo opportunities.

I'm so ready! Happy that Burch is on board too!

I'm definitely going to be in for the Deluxe. The first game was one of the most affecting pieces of media I've ever experienced. If this even touches that, then it's worth $25 to me.
 
The more and more I think about playable Chloe, the more disappointed I get.

I mean, playable Chloe's fine and all on it's own, but the fact that this is a Rachel and Chloe story, I think it would have been sooooo much cooler to play as Rachel rather than Chloe. To play as this legendary girl you heard about all the time in the first season.

Damn it, it would have been so awesome.
 
I'm always skeptical when another developer does a spin-off kinda thing, but I'm cautiously optimistic because I like Life is Strange so much.
 
I'll give it a chance and play it. It's only 3 episodes, so it can't be that long. But I honestly believe that this prequel is not necessary at all... like most prequels.

I'm not saying it can't be interesting or even good, but I feel that the original game treated Chloe's backstory with the right balance of mysteries and known information.

Leaving it at three episodes is pretty much the only thing reassuring me about this game right now. A prequel by another developer has me worried, but limiting it to three episodes at least implies that they have a story they want to tell and aren't interested in padding it out to hit the traditional 5 episodes.
 
Well god dammit. You people posting LiS spoilers in a prequel thread kinda fucked up my PS+ freebie... Grrr.

Anyway... Finishing it up now, might check this out, but i sincerely think overall Life is Strange is kinda overrated... Its not bad, and its DEFINITELY better than anything Telltale can barf out... But... Ehhhhh
 
Life is strange episodes just got better and better, until it became shit in the final episode. Can't freaking wait for this and i really liked Chloe so looking forward to this.
