Dragon Ball FighterZ (PC/XB1/PS4, BN/ASW, UE4, early 2018, beta Sum 2017) E3 trailer

Game looks fucking amazing. Makes me want to play the classics.

Teen Gohan in there gives me hope we might be surprised by Kid Goku. Maybe even some DB characters if they're trying to make this game a little funny.

no recording allowed is a damn shame, at least they can post impressions and their experience on twitter i hope
i'm no dragonball superfan so i have no idea which characters i'll use, probably goku vegeta + 1 more

I like how they turned the technique Cell used to make the Cell Game ring into an attack.

Hopefully the other characters move-sets are just as creative.

I feel like this was in Extreme Butouden but I can't check at the moment. Actually, I feel like a lot of the specific poses are the same as those in Extreme Butouden. It makes sense because they were lifting moves directly out the manga and they're both from a similar perspective, but I'm still wondering how much is carried over.

What would Supreme Kai's moveset even be? Also, what GT character would honestly be worth putting in lol

Giru.

Yeah this looks awesome and I'm not even a DBZ junkie like that. You can kinda tell that Aksys are legit fans by the attention to detail even at this early stage. Those splosions!

Looks like each character has at least 2 assists even? Vegeta has the teleport kick when Goku is fighting Frieza, and Cold Star/Ki Volley when Gohan is fighting cell.

Kaioshin has the telekinesis he uses to freeze enemies, the kiai from his eyes that he used against Boo, and the shockwave attack he used against Boo.

That's all I can think of.

If we're discussing just the characters from the trailer...

SSJ Goku
All-rounder. He's the face of the franchise, so there's no way they're not going to have him be the easiest to pick up and play.

SSJ Vegeta

MvC Iron Man. Mid-far range character, good zoning, movement allows him some easy rushdowns, but he's susceptible to rushdowns and has no way to open up his opponent's defense outside of zoning.

SSJ2 Gohan

Pressure character. Fast, high damage close range combos.

Freeza

Mix-Up character. Hard to predict beam attacks and high low combos.

Cell

Dominating, high power with exploitable weaknesses.

Buu

A mix of trapping/Keep away.

Incredibly on point with this, agree with it all, really.

So would you say they nailed down the best so far ?

Buu

Gohan

Frieza

look flawless to me. They are mind blowing.

Cell looks good but his spots texture is iffy on close ups, and he has some bulky shoulders sometimes when he shouldn't.

Vegeta has a lot of bad posing (his legs notably), and ... Goku just looks bad on a lot of frames to me outside of SSJ3 and his kicks that look great. I don't like his face and his anatomy leaves a lot to be desired compared to the good ones.

I'm inclined to agree with this for the most part, but Buu didn't really impress me too much from a character model perspective, but he moved just like I would expect him to. I'm going to go and rewatch the trailer again a few times to make sure, but it was Frieza and Gohan that really made this hype for me. Golden Frieza looked surprisingly good, too, tbh. Probably the first time I've really liked his design, very timely since I just saw
his hype ass transformation in the last Super episode.
Cell looked pretty good to me, as well. I wish the trailer spent more time on Cell and Gohan, but that's just my bias to the arc I started DB with.

I wonder what they are going to show tomorrow? I mean that was when the press release was supposed to be up right?
Do you think they will actually have a presentation for it at the sony conference?

I have such an irrational affinity for Budokai 2. I think most people hated it, but I loved the way it changed things up from a story perspective. The board game element was so cool. I think it was just too soon after Budokai 1 and people probably wanted a more straightforward story that went beyond the Cell Saga. Hard to deny Budokai 3's greatness though.
