That Xrd game hemorrhaged money. They had to do something to recoup losses. Hopefully they realize DBZ doesn't need that
 
We need Gohan's dark filter slow motion power blows as a move (I'm always gonna call them the Cosmic Backlash in case anyone knows that reference) But what an awesome super move/combo that'd be.

As someone who hasn't followed DBZ since the original Z-days

This looks fucking incredible. My teen self would say this is a game that should have been here a long time ago.

I'm gonna be real, they could sell this game with a cast of Maron, Yajirobe, and The Farmer, and I would pre-order for the Deluxe Day One Edition which includes a season pass with nothing but voice packs and color palette swaps.

Right? And thanks, lol. I do hope they have alt. costumes, but I'm okay with them not being here since the base characters look as good as they do already.

And about Piccolo, yo, they have a lot of cool stuff to pull from if they wanted to, although it seems ASW is also making their own stuff (like that weird crossy-thingy move Cell was doing on Gohan), so the sky's the limit with Piccolo. Hope they show him off soon.

Yo, I want to be here for this, but I won't be able to stay up that long. Hopefully we'll have the gameplay uploaded onto YT somewhere by the time I wake up.

High key hoping for SSB Goku and Vegeta reveals in this, as some transformations or super moves (or maybe those insta-kills everyone's talking about?), it feels wrong to have Golden Frieza and to not have SSB, tbh.
 
This is literally the dream DBZ fighting game I've always wanted. I never thought this day would come. You know all those times where you get so mad and say " Why the fuck doesn't __Studio make ___ game, that looks like ___ , and plays like__!" . You know the "Pokemon MMO" dreams that will never happen. Well, this is probably the only time in my life were my dream game actually came true. Holy shit!!

That reminds me of Super episode 94, lol. I had to pause the ep to check Marron's name online and then remembered all about Krillin's old ex, Maron, lmao. It was filler of course, but it's so funny to think about how similar their names are, lol.
 
I'm in, this is amazing... I am more repulsed with the new Marvel game now due to this art style. Capcom really should've went back to the handdrawn look.

That's always been the most intriguing aspect of his character, post-bald era... 😂 I wonder if 18 ever found out because if she did, I think Krillin would find himself in trouble!

I feel this is the exact sentiment of at least half the people who've seen the trailer. What a sublime combination. ASW and DBZ... Just read it back to yourself...

They've even got that "imperfect anime fps" in the cutscenes to make it look extra authentic, while the gameplay just looks full on batshit. Can't bloody wait.

Does anyone know if Daisuke Ishiwatari will be doing the music? Certainly sounds like it from the trailer.

It is but I think it looks like shit in the game.

That's the only part that felt bad because it's so stiff and Goku's expression/model just look terrible in that sequence.

The rest is top notch so it stood out. Especially the part where Goku and Frieza rush at each other, this is perfect, so it makes that intro a bit jarring.
 
This looks like a game where Dragon Ball fans who enjoyed Budokai, Tenkaichi, and Xenoverse, but didn't play more mechanic heavy fighting games are going to get annihilated at. I better get my block button ready for all the death threats and racist comments I'll receive.

  • Let Kami & Nail have dialogue in Piccolo's head.
  • Make "I AM THE HYPE!!!" one of Vegeta's quotes. Even better, if we get Future Trunks, have him speak first in the intro dialogue saying "Do you really believe your own hype that much?".
  • Give Goku a Kaio-Ken super & have everyone say "Kaio-What?" right when they're about to get the beatdown.

She's voiced Goku since OG Dragon Ball & has gone on to voice everyone in the Son family, plus Turles. Her Goku Black voice is on-point, too.

It works better if you watch from OG Dragonball - where the voice is more fitting for a child that has never had human contact - and gradually go on to Z and Super, where his voice has actually deepened a bit from the tone you've grown used to.

I just started watching Super yesterday so it's god timing for hype.

I always played the demos of the 3D games and wished they were on a 2D plane, so I might pick this up.
 
Really hope we get Black. He should be fairly easy to implement. Then again the amount of frame by frame customisation they do for the animations, maybe him just looking like Goku wouldn't actually make it any easier?

Y'know, I'm kinda assuming he's gonna be a lock for the game! Maybe not in the base game, but he would certainly be hard to keep out of future add-ons, wouldn't he?

I would buy Raditz as DLC, he showed some interesting attacks in the few episodes he was in.

From Super, it would be cool to see Goku Black and Hit. The wolf dude from universe 9 could have interesting mechanics but he's not that important in the story to be included.

Also, I really hope there's a King Piccolo skin for Piccolo.
 
I normally don't do DLC, and certainly not season passes.. ick....

But this game right here? Just unload the dudes. Just line up a bunch of playable characters and I will throw money.
