I'm sure this is gonna be the official GG/Voat game de jure since we're raising a stink about it and that's automatically reason to get it because "lol snowflake SJW cucksters"

And I was so excited to play the game. Now I'm conflicted, do I separate the game from the author or take it as a whole :(

Tim Soret is on gaf? He should address his own views if he actually cared, but he's probably about to make a boatload of money so I imagine he will say nothing instead.

Man I was wondering why an indie game announcement thread had so many posts. Damned shame, the aesthetics of the game looked great. I love me some Cyberpunk.

So it's a pass then, oh well.
 
Man this game was the standout game of interest for me from the Xbox conference, it gave me serious Flashback vibes.

Cannot wait for it.

Understandable, and I think if there's one thing that gives 'the people' power it's voting with your wallet.

The trailer does seem great, and I do love Sci Fi, and even the statement 'what if feminism' has one might be quite interesting when taken to the extreme, in a next-level-techno environment.

Sometimes smart folks are fucking idiots on twitter but good in their art?

I mean, this could be an interesting situation. We could see just how profitable pandering to the Alt-Right/Gamergate-cult demographic can be.

I mean, the cynic in me notes that not one of the major players in the industry dared to openly condemn GamerGate. I mean, there was David Jaffe's joke he made mocking #GG during the Drawn to Death trailer... Followed by the game disappearing into obscurity immediately after.

I am somewhat curious about whether the backlash will actually put a dent in their sales.

I suspect that it probably won't, especially given that the game appears to show extremely well.

Really? I don't think of Nintendo as the kind of company to take a stand on social issues like this. Didn't they fire one of their own employees who was targeted by gamergate after some conservative lobby picked up on the issue?

I'd imagine for every person boycotting this, one and a half of the Alt Right are probably buying this just to support one of their number and "stick it to the SJWs".
 
Oh man...

I played this guy's first title a little while back and thought it was cool, then got pumped when I saw The Last Night on stage, then again when I saw how many replies this thread had.

But yeah... this shit doesn't fly. Can't support this guy with my cash, what a shame.

Watched the trailer again and man, cant get over how beautiful this game looks but whats the gameplay going to be like? because I have no idea what a cinematic platformer is
 
It's always puzzling why people who say stuff like "actually you're the real racist/sexist/homphobe" are usually not part of the oppressed class! I wonder why that could be lmao
 
Man I'm legit depressed about all this. I had seen one of his GG tweets back then, but I either didn't connect it to this same guy, or I just totally forgot he latched himself to that shitwagon. In any case, meanwhile I've been in every thread about this game, waiting on bated breath for any new news, new footage, release date, what have you. I even replay the little prototype demo every once in a while to stay hyped. Then right when it gets a huge re-reveal and lots of good press, everybody finally as excited as I am, this stupid shit comes out. And it's so much worse than I ever even knew.

God, what a total bummer.

This game would never reach the average consumer though, titles like these live and die based on word of mouth from the core community.

So depending how loud the news gets, it certainly can affect sales.
