Yep. People need to calm down with proclamations that this will somehow harm the national image of Democrats. Right-wing media will likely try to skewer Bernie bros specifically, what with Bernie's rhetoric about a "revolution" and all, but aside from that I can't see much else happening. Especially since there were no fatalities and they got the guy alive.

Also, the Russia investigation ain't going anywhere folks. It's not like there's some president here for the FBI, the special counsel, and the congressional investigation committees to just shut down everything their doing.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. What many of us are saying is that this type of backlash should not be surprising when you have a party that has systemically dismantled the social safety net and vociferously opposes any legislation to restore it. Eventually some are gonna snap, especially those not in the ruling class, who are protected from these economic troubles.

It's horrible and ineffective. Yes, we need to vote, but backlash like this should not be surprising. Again, explaining is not condoning it.

Trump shouldn't say anything.

The only thing he can do is inflame the situation with his divisive political bullshit.

His press release was fine by itself, even if he didn't write it. That's all he needs to do.

Thats not what that post says. Minorities are part of the Democratic base and they tend to not show up in midterms like everyone else.

Perfectly normal to be worried of the repercussions this could have in this policial climate. Doesnt mean you dont feel for the victims.

No, Trump should absolutely say something. This is a big moment where he needs to get out in front of this and try to calm both sides.

The problem is that he's a bad president and it's unlikely that does this correctly so I'm a bit worried.
