Gallup: 17 point drop in "satisfaction with the direction of the US" among Repubicans

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Republicans' satisfaction with the way things are going in the U.S. took a hit since last month. Forty-one percent of Republicans say they are satisfied with the way things are going in the U.S., down 17 percentage points since May. At the same time, satisfaction among Democrats and independents has remained low.

These data are from a June 7-11 Gallup poll, during which controversy continues to swirl around the Trump administration. On June 8, the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee conducted hearings with recently fired FBI Director James Comey. The former director's testimony left questions among some observers as to whether the president had tried to interfere with an investigation into his administration's ties with Russia.

Saw this in connection with the thread today about disapproval. Tell me I'm doing a bad job if old.

Thanks for the title edit. I's not so fantastical with word things.

The way things are going, is Trump literally going to have the lowest approval ratings of any US President in history? Who would he have to compete with...Nixon?

Just to reinforce this point, nothing externally bad has happened yet.

Imagine if he has to handle a Katrina or a Recession, he'll sink like a stone.

Nixon, Truman, and W. have the lowest approval/highest disapproval ratings in Gallup's history.

I love that less people thought Ike, JFK, and FDR did a bad job than people thought Trump has done a good job.

It's also nuts that two presidents have higher disapproval ratings than Nixon (W and Truman)

Trump is also on pace to have the lowest top approval rating ever (46)

I'm pretty sure they're dissatisfied because of witch hunts and obstructionist democrats, not because Trump sucks as President.

Yeah, with the way the question is worded Trump die-hards could also answer yes because they see the intelligence community and media tearing down their guy.

Quick. Have another cabinet meeting where 100% of the appointed cabinet can express their love and extreme satisfaction, with hints of sexual attraction, for trump

I wonder if Trump really will get lower than those other presidents. Trump has a cult of personality around him, and I don't think other presidents did.

Yeah, can't even ban muslims anymore.

Not my America!!

edit: But seriously, tjis last month has been an international embarrassment for the US.

What is Trump's approval rating among his voters? That is the only metric that matters. As long as that stays high the GOP will continue to back Trump.

Recession they'll just blame on Obama and a Katrina 2 they'll optically make it look like they are doing a lot to help but in reality are doing a piss poor job, just like bush 2.0.

1. It hasn't even been 6 months. His approval rating has been steadily bleeding out.
2. There haven't been any major disasters and/or wars under Trump's presidency (yet). I can easily see his numbers dipping into the teens if either occurs. Especially with how inept he is at handling literally everything else.

Nixon hit like 22% when he was going to be impeached. I don't see that happening even with an inpeachmebt.

I'd personally rather see Trump stay in office and have the Dems win the House in 2018 than an impeachment and not winning the House.

Look at that February jump among Republicans. I assume that's after all those garbage executive orders and the travel ban tried to get going.

Basically. It was also a whole less obvious to people who don't keep up with politics that he'd be a complete lame duck at best and a complete waste of a human being at worst.

A lot of people I know were sort of sympathetic towards him at the start. They didn't like him but were willing to give him a chance for whatever reason. Clearly, giving a chance isn't worth the effort anymore since he's busy ramming through a sub-30% approval health care bill for whatever reason.
