Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

I've never even used VR before but we're absolutely in the best time of it. Devs are chomping at the bit right now to figure it out and present it in exciting ways. Just think like in twenty years when VR is all figured out and the standard and we'll look back on this and laugh.

I guess I'm waiting for it to become the new reality.

I just can't see VR not being a big thing eventually. We have to go through this to get there. It's really cool to hear people speak passionately about it

I want VR to be good.

But it's hard to see it developing further if there isn't any money in working on games for VR. Which there doesn't seem to be

I love the passion that they and others have for VR, I just don't share it. Hopefully great things come in the future out of VR projects.

Yeah, this is a rad segment because they're all so passionate about it in a way that makes it really fun and interesting, but VR isn't something I'm personally into or all that excited for. But I'd be happy to see something revolutionary come out that breaks that.

I admire these folks' passions for the medium, but I can't wait until VR cools off again and we hopefully see an ebb in these conversations. It's all the same stuff we've been hearing for years, VR is mind-blowing, games have to be designed differently, what if what if what if, we need funding, etc.

Hopefully we don't have to spend 1500+ to get a passable experience in a few years and we can get some cool shit out of this and these people can finally create their vision

I still hadn't watched that Black Mirror episode yet (I was watching it with a friend and we stopped months ago right before it), so my opinion on this entire segment has turned because spoilers.

You won't I think right now there is some deal to get an Oculus + some pre-built Dell PC for $1000. Standalone headsets or even just wireless headsets will help a bunch as well.

Games are the easiest way to sell VR but I fell like VR does it's be outside of that spectrum. From teaching to art VR is an amazing tool. For games it''s really limited to movement, it's cool but it's a gimmick.

Limited to movement? My top games in VR are probably seated games like Chronos or Edge of Nowhere.

They rely less on the "Oh hey you can shoot a gun and open a drawer" and just showed me how much more immersive games can be.

Aww yeah, Tim Turi in the house. I hope he talks about his Sonic character drawing and how he'll finally be able to bring it to life with the help of Sonic Forces!
