Ah thanks.
I was gonna say "or Trunks from GT", but then I realized he's technically not Future Trunks. Present Trunks, whether he's a kid or a teen, always stays losing, it seems.
Also WHAT? Jean-jacket Trunks with a sword is best Trunks. That's his iconic look, and also the look that differentiates him most from the rest of the cast. Of course they picked that version over Saiyan-armor Trunks.

Super Trunks is more than buff enough. Plus he gets an extra form and like twelve new moves on top of Trunks from DBZ AND heso its like clearly the best version of Trunks nostalgia aside. Super haters gonna hategets the kill in his own arc

yeah but most of those "new moves" are from other characters
like this game is more than likely gonna end up with alot of characters using the same moves just in different ways, like the only thing i would think they would use is

Nah, his design sucks. It's like Z Trunks fused with GT Trunks.
...but its just a close jean jacket with a scarff
I'm ususally the " design is king" guy, but the design is so close that the complaint seems really stupid

I liked the Trunks vs Tien fight in that.
That new screen shot looks really, really good. I am so incredibly hyped for this game.
I mean, to be fair, the anime and manga were aimed at kids too. We are just extra sensitive about violence in the west... Dragon Ball Z in Japan was aimed at a similar demographic as Rugrats was here.
Though this game is clearly not aimed at children, as fighting games tend to take a little more investment than a kid would be able to stomach. So yeah, snarky comments aside, we will probably be fine for censorship...
Though it is still possible we will get two versions of Trunks (wood sword and metal sword) to go along with the fifteen Gokus that will inevitably end up polluting the roster.

My interactions with you on this forum quite honestly have me rooting for 17, just because I know the pain of aligning with a marginalized character.
If the starting roster stays mostly DBZ I hope they do DB, Super, GT Movies themed DLC packs - be cool to see like:

Man since they don't have the heavy smashes like Burst limit, I hope if 17 makes it in they work out a special deformation for his gut punches.
Rossi gets like 0 chances to fight after Dragon Ball. I haven't seen Super, but I imagine Dragon Ball is where he mainly fights.

Part of me always wanted Trunks to reduce Tenshinhan into a pile of mush in that movie. Not because I hate Tenshinhan or anything - I like him -, but because the power discrepancy between the two is so ridiculous. Even in his normal state, Trunks would crush him, so as an SSJ? It's almost as if Tenshinhan went up against Perfect Cell. He had to pretty much tire himself to death just to hold second-form Cell up for a few minutes without causing him any actual damage.
Speaking of Tenshinhan, has it ever been explained why everyone calls him "Tien" in the English dub? I have an idea why the translators did it ("Ten" is read "Tien" in Chinese... Well, "tian", actually, whatever), but I was wondering if they ever explained why within the show. It doesn't make much sense to me. Isn't his official name still "Tenshinhan" in the dub?

I am almost positive 17 will be in. Only reason I'd see them omitting him is if they had to decide between only ONE of out of 17 and 18, due to 17 not being around right after the cell arc (up until Super) But I think they will opt for both.
@Slaythe: I'm usually of the opinion that spoilerphobia can be dumb and overwrought but I think that promo image is probably worth spoilering since enough people people haven't seen Super? It doesn't ruin the plot at all but it does reveal a few twists that might be nice to not see coming.
Maybe, but this* is used in the latest marketing for Super, and marketing is fair game as far as spoilers go.
*Don't know if this image or the one with Buu is used for marketing, but yeah. I think its on their site too.

In Dragon Ball, he shows off a lot of different techniques and is one of the strongest fighters on Earth. How is he in Super? I would assume he is the weakest and doesn't get the same kind of time as he did in Dragon Ball.
We say that, but then we spoil the existence of characters like Goku Black, so ultimately it's like... Meh.
This is true but usually I distinguish between English Marketing and Japanese Marketing for when there is a big lag between content flowing from the East to the West.

The videogames (Dokkan, Fusions, XV 2) had already given a ton of Super content anyway so if you want to avoid spoilers, you're best to avoid all DB threads.

Its free, but new series will be behind a week, (i.e as episode 80 just comes out, last week's episode, 79, becomes available) requiring a subscription to be able to watch it as they air, but if you are just starting a series you have plenty of episodes to watch before it catches up.
