It's excellent, I can say that the rtings review is very accurate to what you can expect. It's a great tv.

I love how OLEDs have basically instantaneous response times. And now that their input lag is starting to drop to the low 20s, thats borderline biblical. Consider my asus gaming monitor has 11ms input lag, thats pretty damn good.
Cheap and good 4K set with HDR isn't really synonymous

If Sony doesn't adopt OLED tech they won't ever beat LG.
The response times that OLED brings can only be matched by the glory days of CRTs. And now that the C6 has 21ms input lag, game over.
Of course this is in the top tier cist category, Sony can still capture the mid tier bracket.
So is that a no-go on the Vizio?
Sony is already doing that and the A1 series which easily stand up their with LG's offerings, not too mention whatever follow ups the Z9 series should be absolutely beastly. Their pricing still hurts but that's basically a given for their TVs at this point.
the p-series is worth it, but given that it's their 2nd most premium product i'd hardly call it cheap

Here is the full list including TVs that they consider "limited availability", might be able to find some of the top ones on sale as they are getting discontinued or as people upgrade.

There aren't any decent 4k monitors unfortunately. They are all tiny for the most part, most being 27 inch and good luck playing any game when the UI doesn't scale well at 27 inches at 4k. After using a 40 inch TV as a computer monitor, I'd never want to go with something smaller then 35 inches or so (not ultra wide, those are basically 27 inch monitors that are extra wide). Plus, I'm able to use my PS4 Pro on a TV that doubles as my monitor.
That is some odd rationalizing...

Has anyone upgraded from a fairly recent sony 1080p to this X900e? I currently have a 2014 700b 55 inch and want to get the 65 x900e. From everything I've read sitting as far as I sit (about 12 feet) I won't be able to tell the 4k difference and I think the black level on mine is pretty fantastic still. Just gaging opinions to see if it's a worthy upgrade

How much and where is the TCL 65p607?? I cant even find it for sale anywhere.
The 55" version is only $650 at Amazon but doesn't ship for months.
Anyway I hope my 1080p set from 2011 lasts another couple years because I cant afford these prices right now. I've already got a 55" so don't want to buy another. Need to go to 65" but the price difference is always too ridiculous.

the 65" isn't on sale yet, I think it's due out later this year
Sure, it's just half the price of some of the competition's, which is cheap to me.

Yeah I doubt the C7 will ever hit that price. Who knows about future models.

What happened with it?
I upgraded from a non-HDR 4K set from Sony (X850B). The HDR alone was a big upgrade. I had been playing Horizon in SDR at 4K and let out an audible "wow" when I fired it up on my 900E and saw it in HDR. (I'm still keeping my X850b in another room for its passive 3D)
I'd say it's a worthy upgrade even if you end up not noticing the resolution difference itself.
only problem i have with the x900E is the lipsync issue, the speakers on the tv are terrible and sometimes the sound has delays so it causes lipsync problems, i was floored when i found out about this, i never heard about a tv having these type of issues, a quick google search confirmed i wasn't crazy and that in fact this is a problem with this model, so if you're thinking on getting one get a sound bar as well, even a cheap sound bar will be miles better than the tv speakers, the IQ on this tv on the other hand is absolutely phenomenal, specially how the tv handles lower resolution signals and upscale them.

I plan on picking up the 65inch version of that TCL set soon. What you get for the price it is seems almost too good to be true

I bought the 65" about four days ago and I'm very happy so far. It's taking some adjusting because I had a 40" before so the size was kind of jarring lol. It looks great. Games look fantastic on it, been playing BF1 and Until Dawn and 4K stuff I have streamed looks beautiful. My couch is about 8 feet from the tv.

I've a 50 inch 1080p Sony with super low input lag I bought last year.
Seems this year 4K really is the base level tv standard now.
I'm happy with mine though!

Recently talked myself out of the LG B6 and into the TCL p607 for my first dip into 4K. I'm liking it so far, but their comments on the viewing angle being poor are spot on - it works fine for me and my setup, but if you will be putting it in a larger room or won't always be viewing it straight-on, I could see some people not being a fan.

I am buying a 65" Sony ZD9 at the end of August myself. It is one of the best sets for HDR and while the input lag is a little higher than the LG they recommend, the OLED Black level and it's better performance with HDR is worth the slight sacrifice in input lag. Only this is that the ZD9 series is pricey.
