My take on that is- there is no best game ever, best we can do is to "appoint" current king in specific genre, like for example in survival/action horror atm its re9 but even then for best game of 2026 it has at least 6 very legit competitors: crimson desert, wolverine, fh6, new 007, pragmata and last but defo not least gta6(maybe gets delayed to 2027 but for now it has official date of nov 19th).
Personally i love too many games and too many genres to ever chose 1 ultimate best game, how can i even decide, was it ff7 i completed 3 times(once fully with everything maxed, all secret quests,bosses,items etc) or was it ff10 with over 500h of playtime, or maybe WoW i played solid few years(quit only few weeks before panda's xpack), or maybe diablo2 which i loved, but then how do u even count it, does lod expack count, or d2r, or its mods? or project diablo 2 mod?
Maybe og gran turismo that looked "photorealistic" to our eyes back in the 90s, or crazy content packed its succesor- gt2- who doesnt remember those mitsubishi gto twin turbo or suzuki escudo twin peaks versions?

But is it fair to not chose its younger more handsome brother gt3 which was crazy jump and trully showed off ps2 power?
Or is it one of elder scrolls entries, then its deathmatch between morrowind, oblivion and skyrim which all were totally revolutionary for their time, as was witcher 3 which i love and returned to it many times? Cp2077? Or maybe something totally retro like tekken 3 from og psx, which back in the days we had organised actual local tournaments for? Or maybe i should dig even deeper to first mortal kombat, to play that i had to risk getting beaten up by local thugs since first proper original arcade model in my smalltown was put in questionable pub/bar which was frequently visited by all kinds of carrier criminals? (yes, me and my teenage buddies risked it all anyways

)
Again, too hard to chose, i still skipped at least 50 if not 100+ other beloved games here coz noticed my post turned into wall of text already, i love my fav games like parents love their children
