John McCain has Brain Cancer

Again with making bullshit up once again, it's amusing how you guys can't feel morally superior without bullshiting all the way. Saying "Fuck McCain" isn't "wish death upon people"

It's also a hilarious point to make since the motherfucking GOP doesn't only wish death upon people, they literally VOTE FOR IT.

I'll be honest here, when your response to hearing someone has cancer is 'Fuck that guy' it's pretty hard to know exactly what you meant. Because it sure sounds like you're glad he got cancer.

Now maybe that's not what you meant by 'Fuck that guy' here. And if so, apologies for misunderstanding you... but maybe a little more nuance on your part would help avoid it too. Like, if you meant 'It doesn't change me feelings towards him one bit'... then maybe it would have been better to say that.

Again, I apologize if I got the wrong idea what you meant by 'Fuck that guy'... but help me out in understanding what you meant by that in this context.

Glioblastoma is an awful form of cancer. Most do not make it and recurrence rates are high. At his age, doubt he'll be able to tolarate his chemo amd radiation.

I wish him all the best. But like others here, people will remember him for his legacy.

maybe you should look at his senate career voting record before calling him rebellious ever

also unless he had a brain tumor when it was 2007 and he helped start the rise of the current tea party/alt-right....

For real McCain helped create the Alt right now? I would argue that the rise of the alt right rose naturally in extreme partisanship era we have been in since the late 90's to now.

yes

the nomination of sarah palin helped kickstart the tea party which goes hand in hand with the current wave of far right extremism

You may as well blame Obama for being elected or JFK for being shot and causing the same kickstarting domino effect that lead to McCain electing Palin and help create a vocal group and years later a similar(sure they both are full of racist idiots I guess) extreme is made.

Fucking Oswald man!

the man literally voted with W 95% of the time, so yeah, his weirdness in the last year doesn't excuse that

McCain voted with W 95% of the time in the year 2007, when Congress was controlled by Democrats. In 2006 that number was 76%. These numbers don't tell you what he's actually voting on. He voted against the Bush tax cuts. It ignores the bipartisan legislation he sponsored and cosigned: Campaign Finance reform. Cap and Trade. Automotive emissions standards. The Detainee Treatment Act.

I realize a lot of people here are too young to remember McCain when he was McCain but don't try and erase history so you can feel better about piling on to a guy who never even had an opportunity to vote for McConnell's dead bill.

He picked Palin to be his running mate. That, by proxy, helped enable and justify the existence of the Tea Party and everyone that associates with their values.

That twitter story there? There would be millions more of that if he got his way, think upon that the next time you rush to defend a GOP fuck

McCain embraced the tea party in a bid to win the white house basically legitimizing the movement that helped speed up partisan politics in America. Sarah Palin was basically proto-Trump and his campaign was almost like a testing ground for how far the Republican party could go and still keep loyalty from their base. So yeah, he really did help create the atmosphere that led to the alt right.

Sorry to hear. There was a time I really liked the guy politically because I thought he was a maverick and could be a centrist. Fuck his positions now, spineless old fuck. (I can say that because he is a political tool who represents us). Hate him politically, wish him the best as a human. No matter what side you are on, the man is a patriot caught in a crazy game and hope his days are longer than naught.

mccain has always been an odd bird. sometimes he does live up to his rep of sticking to his guns. for example he's one of the few vocal trump dissenters holding a seat as republican. and other times... not so much. this was the same guy screaming Ermagerd Benghazi, same guy who saw Palin appropriate to be heartbeat away from the presidency, ect

one of the more complicated political figures of our time, for better or worse. at the very least i think he's entered (or left) the twilight of his career on a good note, being earnest about russia when virtually nobody else on his side is

McCain time traveled to the future in order to win the election?

He didn't dissent when it came to voting in guys like Jeff "I love Racism" Sessions and Betsy "Fuck Children" DeVos.

Agenda is the wrong word, fair enough.

I just feel like it's inappropriate to use a thread about a dude getting cancer to make the point that you think he's an asshole.

I mean, you may not be wrong but...
You might want to read my other posts.

I think this thread is starting to eat itself.

There are people today that still defend Scalia

There are people who are fine rushing to defend monsters, simply because the monsters didn't fuck over them so it's all completely okay

.

People that support monstrous polices most of their careers deserves the be treated like monsters even after they get sick. He supported and continues to supports the political party that WANTS to actively harm and allow to die people that are sick as or sicker then he is now.

Cancer or not. Fuck him, Fuck the GOP and Fuck anyone that continues to support their monstrous practices,

The man has brain cancer and is dying. Civility even in the face of politics you disagree with is something that takes precedence over all. The last thread we had on this was gross and this one seems to continue that trend. I wish the man well and hope he's able to overcome this tremendous hardship.

We can just create a seperate thread later for directing his policies and philosophies. Dragging those through the mud in a thread about fucking brain cancer isn't the most tasteful way of discussing it.

We are not in his room, this is not his "Get Well Soon Card"

Some people need to look at that Obama tweet again to see what a decent human being's response is to something like this.

Obama has always aimed high. I do not blame those who go low, however. How many here are just one illness or mistake from having everything taken away from them, especially from a party that wants to make this state of probabilities higher?

When people are essentially wished to go to hell via a policy and ideal that fights compassion and reality, I am none too shocked to see they don't wish these people projecting such views and values a heavenly time.

I wish McCain well, but I understand those who wish him to go to hell.

Fuck him. Fuck his party.

Enjoy your good healthcare asshole.

I have no problem with this.

Do I wish him cancer/death. No. I don't have the ability to do that. Nobody's negative posts gave him cancer.

But am I going to feel bad for him that he is going through what he was trying to condemn millions of fellow Americans to? Fuck no. And yes, people are angry and passionate. It's a very fucking personal issue for a lot of people. It's literally life and fucking death for people and their families. You don't expect anger and passion? This is not "different opinions". This is not "politics as usual". This is a group of pieces of human garbage, of which McCain is one, attempting to vote to take away health care from millions, MILLIONS of poor and/or sick Americans, without an adequate replacement in sight, and for no good reason other than because the guy who gave it to them was black. Fuck every single last one of them. Don't expect sympathy from me. The country is better off without them.
