"I'm gonna make a training course so hard everyone will drop out, no way I'll get the 48 troops I need to form my unit!"

*Ends up inventing a special ops unit*

I kinda jumped in in the middle of this, quite an interesting setting but the super young girl that's not really a super young girl trope is a bit tired.

Edit: Oh a clip show episode. They didn't have a great budget for this it seems.

The death/suicide reborn in another world premise is starting to get worn out too.

Unsurprisingly, the original author is a fan of Europa Universalis.
Makes sense.

I'm always surprised by Japanese authors that are big into Western games and history and such, though I know I shouldn't be. Twitter has been pretty enlightening in this regard - you can find quite a few Japanese twitter users who post a lot of Western games, including genres that are more niche like the aforementioned Europa Universalis. I know of at least one user whose feed consists of nothing but games like FTL, Starbound, Terraria, Factoria, and other games that you wouldn't necessarily think would court a Japanese audience.
That's true. I actually think it would have been received better if the author didn't go the "she's fucking 9 years old" route. It's really ridiculous for what is otherwise a grounded anime.
Out in the West, mayhaps. I suspect, however, that the absurdity of the premise was actually a necessity for it to get enough attention to get an anime adaptation in the first place.

Just my hunch, mind you. I don't really have anything to back it up (other than the current state of the Japanese LN and manga market, anyway).

It's a trend in Japan atm. The sheer number of isekai LNs and manga being released lately is pretty unsustainable.

They'll get tired of it after running it into the ground and then move on to another bandwagon premise eventually (and it, too, will be run into the ground).

She also did Iris in Pokemon so nothing is perfect.

I recommend checking out the Symphogear series if you are interested. Easily one of my favourite Aoi Yuuki roles.

Girls in mecha-looking armor powered by songs beating the crap out of colorful creatures. It's basically a singing-punching anime with Aoi Yuuki, Nana Mizuki and a few other well-known seiyuus.

there has to be more than 1 atheist in that world. why's god so petty about this? lmao

If you didn't see the opening episodes
Tanya was originally a salaryman in modern day Japan who was trust into that world after a disgruntled former threw him infront of a train - Being X threw him "in hell" in an attempt to make him worship it because he refused to believe in the existence of god even when presented which would be considered irrefutable evidence at the moment of his death
. So, not really so much about being the only atheist in that world, just God really has it out for him haha.

I like how this show is semi serious war stuff coupled with ridiculous stuff like soldier flying on skis, mechanical brooms and horses.

I never caught the end of JOKER GAME, this will be a good chance. JOKER GAME (which starts in less than an hour) is basically an anthology series with a developing plot featuring a secret group of spies who specially trained for Japan during WW2 who will be eradicated and distanced from Japan and they know it if they fuck up stationed in different parts of the world, it's pretty well done and if you love some short form spy thrillers, you'll probably like it.

ReLife was a surprise for many last year, it's a romance drama anime that decided to release every episode on the same day and it's actually pretty good. The concept is weird but they handle it in an interesting way, it's about someone who regrets the life they've taken and choices they've made and get an opportunity to go through their teens again, but it's surprisingly well done if you like romance drama animes.

ReLife is a show where based on the premise you'd imagine it's just shitty wish fulfillment, but then you give it a chance and it turns out to be a really good show with great characters that despite being about an adult going back to highschool is actually more about social commentary on adult life in Japan than anything else thematically
