November Wrasslin' |OT| Can You Survive Without Turning the TV Off?

The only thing I don't like is that I can see them dropping the ball with this huge. Nexus/Cena is still the focus of Raw. Miz needs to be the focus during his first championship reign.

And yet, give it a few years (maybe even months) and the smarks will turn on Miz the same way they did on Cena. I mean people are saying Miz worked so hard for this and he deserves it. His career path is so very similar to Cena's. Company boy who does a lot of work promoting the business outside the shows, with a really "awesome", cool gimmick. Now it's just a matter of time.

The Frankman said:
Yep. They would've turned on Heel Cena too.

Let's not act like the "smarks" turn on people just for fun. Cena is BLAND as hell, Triple H really could not make room for anyone else, Rey never loses, etc. etc. If The Miz gets turned on, it'll probably be for good reason. Smarks never turned on Jericho, HBK, The Undertaker (though people are getting close), or anyone who managed to reinvent themselves, or remain fresh.

Yeah... Good point. We'll see how it plays out, though. I'm still a bit skeptical with Miz being champ to tell the truth, but he has shown himself to be great inring and on the mic.

But, I will admit, the promo Miz cut one time when he mentioned JBL hazing him was a GREAT one.

See even in terms of skill sets they're very similar. Very talented on the mic. Passable ring work. But the bigger they get. The more stale they become in the eyes of the smarks. Hell Miz is already establishing one of those typical movesets that Cena has been reduced to.

You forgot Punk

Yeah, I rewinded my DVR as well, and it sounds like "freaking."

Miz as champ -- I expected it during the PPV, but I guess a day later isn't bad at all. Now to see how it all plays out. I guess in the RAW locker room, he is deserving of it. He worked so hard. It's amazing thinking back how horrid/corny/etc he was in the past to where he is now.

The runner up on Tough Enough who started out as the "host" of Smackdown....

He's also the only Tough Enough guy to hold a World Title (and no WWECW does not count. It ranks right with the IC or US belt. )

...and personal bias... he's a Clevelander... yay!

He's got a WWE moveset.... as does every other WWE worker. A small, low impact moveset.

Remember when The Miz hosted the DivaSearch a few years ago and how shaky he was? Botching lines like crazy? :lol I'll give him credit, he's improved.

Is it true he's going to get squashed by HHH when he returns, which sets up a Sheamus/HHH (SP) angle for the world title for Wrestlemania?

Yes please. Anyone but Miz would be awesome.

Can we have Cena back, please?

The best part of this gif is we can eliminate the idea of her being a huge Randy Orton fan because he's such a dreadful babyface.

So the only explanation is she really, really, really hates Miz.

I suspect the Cody Rhodes avatar guy had the same reaction.

Azuran, he is a big RKO fan, seen his posts on wrestlingforum.

I'm very happy for the Miz. There's nothing I love more than seeing someone go from being a jobber/joke, working hard and showing passion, to becoming a top superstar, now World Champion.

Can't believe this is the same guy I watched on MTV almost 10 yrs ago.

oh shit I missed RAW tonight, congrats for Miz I guess lol what else happened?
Bella twins are now Daniel Bryan stalkers and were about to totally make out in the ring with each other.

So dudes, Daniel Bryan needs to strike while the iron is hot. He just beat Miz two or three ppvs in a row. He has a shot of winning the WWE title:lol

He needs to shit on Ted a bit more so Maryse is suddenly obsessed with him as well.

A lot of well put together stuff, and nothing to really annoy... exact opposite of normal really.

Well the focus wasn't on Nexus and John Cena the whole show for once. They seemed to focus more on wrestling. Plus CM Punk on commentary seemed to have Lawler fired up.

It really isn't hard to figure out. Solid matches that get time + minimal GM nonsense + great commentary with Punk and Lawler bouncing off of each other + multiple feuds making progress = GOOD SHOW. Even WITHOUT Miz cashing in it would've been solid. If the crowd was hotter for the midcard stuff (which they really should have been) it would've been a great show instead of just a good one.

i was asleep during raw and just saw the replay

OH MAH GAAAW MARK MARK MARK

ZOOKEEPAH GOT HIS OLD SONG BACK. best raw since nexus debut

Must be hard, being the only non-Miz fan on WrestleGAF. :D
I'm not fully convinced either. I don't know if all of you are just being fans just to be fans of the Miz, because I myself cannot say that I'm ready to see Miz as champion.

Throughout Miz' career, I did not like him. Prior to being more active on WrestleGAF, I had nothing good to say about the Miz on other forums. He was too much of a goof, he was extra corny on the mic, and he was always low card/lower mid-card. Even when he tagged with Morrison? I liked Morrison over Miz. I really couldn't stand Miz.

I remember months ago, someone asked who could be the "next" big champion, and Liu Kang Bakes A Pie answered The Miz. He praised the guy's mic work/crowd reaction/in ring skills but I personally did not see it. Gradually, I have noticed that the Miz does get a reaction and his mic skills aren't bad at all. I remember watching the Smackdown vs RAW 2011 promo and he worked the crowd there excellently. I was impressed.

He changed his finisher. He changed his ring gear. He changed his theme song. I guess he wanted to look more like a "champion." Even though I'm behind Miz, as said before, I'm real skeptical about it. Can he be a good Heavyweight champion? He has had gold before, but not gold of this magnitude. I know what you're thinking, "The belts mean nothing", but you have to admit, this rose his star power up a few notches...

I'm not a fan of the Miz neither. Even if i have to admitt he went to the next level since he has that case.

But even with that, having him as a champ, after two times Sheamus, CM Punk, numerous times Edge, and all that... I really think WWE totally killed its tittle with those fluke or MitB titles. When you realize what was saying Piper last week, and now, a guy like CM Punk is a many times champion, and Edge has been champion like.. 9 times in 5 years ?

That and with Cena gone and Miz champion, you can feel the e' will drop dramatically in the ratings... dark time incoming.

That's not even their fault, they're trying HARD to push new talents, but the result right now is a middle card filled roster...

new talent doesnt devalue the title, bad booking does. if they dont push these midcarders how will they get more maineventers? you have to start somewhere, when orton got the mega push with evolution that was flukey too. these guys will turn into maineventers and keep the product fresh. they were pushing new guys like rock and hhh into the main scene and brought in outside talents like Angle and made them stars, while WCW were hanging on to old has beens. look how that turned out. the initials ratings wont matter in the long term when your products shit.

the wwe before the pushes to cm punk, bryan, miz, swagger and even sheamus was the same 3/4 established guys over and over with the likes of hhh, mysterio, taker, cena going out and burying people week in week out. thats why the company is in such a dire state, they were falling into the same trap as wcw. they're actually injecting some new guys into the scene now, which will help them in the long run.

I just saw the end of RAW WTF happened where was the security to stop Cena wrecking it for Wade. Plus Miz looks like he needs to lay off the pies.

This guy is easily the most improved guy on the roster for the last two years. Ever since he split from Morrison, it was like he was working hard as hell not to be the Jannetty. He bickers a lot with Jericho on Twitter, so I bet he was practicing and learning a lot from him for his mic work.

Well let's say for that to work, you need some transition, and a long one. Obviously they had many failures in the midcard range in those recent years. Kennedy, MVP, Morrison, Kingston, Benjamin, Hardy... All those are here for a long time now (except for those who aren't here anymore) and not main eventer at all. So they decided to go faster with the new generation, but this is kinda to violent... That's why you have a situation where Randy Orton is a weak weak main face and they had to use Cena again as a top face to balance it. That's why you have some main event that really doesn't look like main events (Sheamus/Orton ??, Wade/Orton ??).

There is obviously a casting problem here, they have to change their main event face but basically, the roster isn't ready for it.

Any money says Cena attacks Barrett every week and they have an "unsanctioned match" at TLC because Cena is fired thus the match can't be official again making the free or fired stipulation complete bullshit.

Why do you think they made Miz champion?

Who else has the mic skills and personality to fulfil that role?
