Final Fantasy 15 - Windows Version Trailer (PC)

Looks cool but unless there are some amazing mods I doubt I'll double dib.
Even with all its issues I still had a blast with the game but with so much to play I don't think I'll replay it.

Lol at the top ad I see on Gaf right now being for a 1080ti.

I paid full price for FFXV and Season Pass so no regrets (Pro + SSD works very well for cutting loading times). That said if I can get FFXV including DLCs for $50ish, I am game. As long as the port is good and not another Nier disaster.

Edit:
170gb... Can I start the preload now lol?
Now I'm glad I got the 1tb version of the Samsung 960 Pro.
Umm... hell with that then. There is no way I am supporting that shit.

Yeah. I think I'll upgrade to a sizable ssd in the beginning of next year. Games are getting huge, but I don't want to give up the fast loading and boot times of ssd. Can't go back.

Would you rather the assets be worse for a smaller footprint?

I would rather first of all have an option to download or not the higher end textures. Secondly I would rather developers spent even a bit of time on looking at compression technologies out there.

170GB for FFXV is completely ridiculous.

The game is 170gb, but the download will be compressed to something a little smaller than that. It will still be over 100GB for sure.

Also I'm pretty sure the 1080ti is for the game running at 4K. People are treating it as if that's the minimum you need for the game.

It also means horrible optimization or engine issues on PC.

Can't wait to finally play this cute boy road trip. I wonder if my GTX 1060 will be able to hit 60fps on this game, or at least handle some of this fancy Nvidia tech while still hitting 30. Steam Controller support would be nice, too. 👀

Where do you see recommended specs? There are none on the steam page...

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=246605346&postcount=220

The recommended specs are apparently for 4k. 4k is roughly 4 times as expensive GPU-wise as 1080p. Your 1060 isn't 4 times slower than a 1080ti, so I wouldn't give up too soon.

(That said, first we'll need some framerate information in general)

Ah yes, that seems to be the case. I might have to worry more about the CPU tbh; for GPU bottlenecks you can lower resolution and settings and get big improvements, whereas if the game is not optimized well enough for the i5-6500 CPU to hit 60FPS such adjustments have a more limited effect.

People can finally enjoy the beauty that is Final Fantasy XV in its full glory. I am excited for ya all!

Oh boy, I just realized the potential of modding the ending picture leading to a lot of awkward YouTube videos. LMAO!

Wait..thats Noctis?

Male FF protagonist
with actual facial hair and a dirty stained look to his design. Never thought I would see the day.

Thats awesome.

It's a little less awesome in game when his head is too large for 90% of the bodies (outfits).

No. Why would you think that?

A modern AAA game recommending a 1080ti to play at 4k with all bells and whistles is absolutely not unusual or indicative of anything being wrong.

looks exactly the same as consoles
Seriously? I mean, the IQ difference is already massive, but I've come to realize that some people just don't see that. But what about the grass? Or the AO?

I think you're arguing against people who already set their mind for whatever reason.

I've got 150+ hours on ps4 and will still play all the dlcs on there as they come out, but hell if I'm not going to upgrade my 970 to a 1070 or 1170 just to play this on PC on ultra. Hnnnghhhh.....

did nvidia gameworks works better on amd with directx 12 ? or does this mean i will have to wait for a nvidia gpu with hdmi 2.1 (if it happens)

That's not the argument that was being made. The argument that was being made was that the recommended specs are reason for alarm. They are not.

Oh, I'm aware.
My point still stands though. Recommended settings are not the issue here, developer, looking at their previous output, most definitely is.

I am willing to hold judgement, because I'm wondering if this is being done in-house or not. I'm pretty sure a lot of the PC versions of older FF's were outsourced.
