I've never seen a game that didn't
Marathon says hi.
I've never seen a game that didn't
Umm... hell with that then. There is no way I am supporting that shit.170gb... Can I start the preload now lol?
Now I'm glad I got the 1tb version of the Samsung 960 Pro.

Would you rather the assets be worse for a smaller footprint?I paid full price for FFXV and Season Pass so no regrets (Pro + SSD works very well for cutting loading times). That said if I can get FFXV including DLCs for $50ish, I am game. As long as the port is good and not another Nier disaster.
Edit:

Who's the character in the main image? I haven't seen him in any other promo stuff. Is this a straight port or is there extra stuff?
Square Enix putting that character in the promo art for this is bullshit and try not to look up who he is

It's literally already spoiled for you in the first 10 seconds of the game
I would tbh or atleast give us a choice 170gb is a damn huge download so big infact it would eclipse some EU data limits in certain countries
I would rather first of all have an option to download or not the higher end textures. Secondly I would rather developers spent even a bit of time on looking at compression technologies out there.Would you rather the assets be worse for a smaller footprint?
It also means horrible optimization or engine issues on PC.The game is 170gb, but the download will be compressed to something a little smaller than that. It will still be over 100GB for sure.
Also I'm pretty sure the 1080ti is for the game running at 4K. People are treating it as if that's the minimum you need for the game.
170GB for FFXV is completely ridiculous.

"only"It's almost like higher quality textures and visual effects options cost data.
While a 4K texture pack would likely work, it'd probably only lower the dl amount to 100gb.
Where do you see recommended specs? There are none on the steam page...
The recommended specs are apparently for 4k. 4k is roughly 4 times as expensive GPU-wise as 1080p. Your 1060 isn't 4 times slower than a 1080ti, so I wouldn't give up too soon.
(That said, first we'll need some framerate information in general)
People can finally enjoy the beauty that is Final Fantasy XV in its full glory. I am excited for ya all!
Oh boy, I just realized the potential of modding the ending picture leading to a lot of awkward YouTube videos. LMAO!
with actual facial hair and a dirty stained look to his design. Never thought I would see the day.Wait..thats Noctis?
Male FF protagonist
Thats awesome.
No. Why would you think that?It also means horrible optimization or engine issues on PC.
Seriously? I mean, the IQ difference is already massive, but I've come to realize that some people just don't see that. But what about the grass? Or the AO?looks exactly the same as consoles
No lies detected. It's Square realizing that's the better character design for the main man.
Objectively false.looks exactly the same as consoles
No. Why would you think that?
A modern AAA game recommending a 1080ti to play at 4k with all bells and whistles is absolutely not unusual or indicative of anything being wrong.

That's not the argument that was being made. The argument that was being made was that the recommended specs are reason for alarm. They are not. It's developed by Square Enix and not by Square Eidos?
Oh boy, do I have bad news for you.
It's Square realizing that's the better character design for the main man.
Nope.gifIt's a little less awesome in game when his head is too large for 90% of the bodies (outfits).

Oh, I'm aware.
My point still stands though. Recommended settings are not the issue here, developer, looking at their previous output, most definitely is.
With mods you will get that wish.Big Boy Noctis who I wish I could play as for the whole game tbh.
