Assassins Creed and Final Fantasy XV collaboration announced (in-game playable event)

What game should Final Fantasy XV partner with next?

I think it has more to do with seeing the same posters complaining about the same things even if that isn't what the topic of the thread is about... Maybe.

Might as well ignore it then. Posts by Squire, Arkeband ect. are to be expected just as much as posts by actual fans of the game.

The outfit looks very good on Gladio. I'm surprised to see that they put more effort into this than into the main missions of the game. Sad!

Heh. My problem obviously is that I still view games as first and foremost narrative vehicles. Like, I blanch similarly when XV suddenly includes Assassin's Creed as I would if The Hobbit featured a cross-over cameo from I Robot or something.

In the case of Final Fantasy, the sensitivity is warranted. This series has always been about its narrative. It is essential even when other cornerstones (like turn based battles) are Compromised.

I really wouldn't mind this dumb AC thing should they have first let us know if the story would be patched.

This is well within their business... uh, direction.
"Who do we target with our new game?"
"EVERYBODY"

Heh, people are furious! What's so different between this and the MGS Peace Walker X AC promotion of the past? Or that Peace Walker x Monster Hunter crossover?

A fantasy based on feedback and focus testing.

There's a bunch of people complaining that nobody asked for this and now its strictly feedback related? lol

It's not different at all, this is what happens to every FFXV thread.

FFXV feeling more and more like a mobile game. First unnecessary multiplayer content now collaborations that don't make a ton a sense.

*Updates to the main game*

"CAN YOU STOP WORKING ON THIS GAME PLS WHENS XVI"

*unique, quality free DLC content released *

"CAN YOU WORK ON THE MAIN GAME PLS"

I've gotten so used to seeing the same people bitch and moan about this game that it gives me genuine giggles to witness people getting so worked up about it

Like, you're never going to enjoy the game. Never. And no matter how much you cry about that, it's not going to change the fact that you're going to be seeing alot more of it. And if it was as bad as you think, then we wouldn't. But we will!

if not from Square's updates and DLC, then from XVI which will likely be using its advancements

just get over it lol...or at least stop derailing threads about it

There is a manga for XV too?

1- anime
2- movie
3- manga
.
.
.
4- TV series next?

Ahahahahaha................

why not a PUBG crossover? It's the hottest game on the market right now.

Actually marketing the PC version of FF15 inside PUBG would do them wonders.

Oh god lol, is that a golden engine blade in Origins? Hopefully that's all they're doing. Apparently the game has mirages though, so there might be one where you go to XVs generic world and assassinate a behemoth for a McDonald's clerk or w/e.

Wait wat.

The building traversal looks interesting...hopefully it's added throughout more than just the city?

I'm still fucking dumbfounded that this somehow looks like actual robust content.

10+ years of people bitching about Final Fantasy. Gotta love it. Hell I remember in high school people bitched about FF7 and FF10...ain't nothing new. Everything post 6 or 7 is #notmyfinalfantasy

They're just expanding the scope of the engine features. Prompto's episode added basic FPS gameplay, the offroad patch added driving off rails, this one seems to be increasing the mobility options. The climbing animations look...really good. Like, I can't tell if the engine is handling it to some degree or if every one of them is specifically canned, but it seems to flow extremely well. Or maybe they got the AC team to give them assets...?

I'm almost 100% positive that this is just confined to the Lestallum playarea, but if they were to expand this kind of functionality to the rest of the game....that would be awesome.

Either way, a Final Fantasy open world that includes climbing is just an open world with even fewer boundaries and expanded design options. XVI likely won't have warpstriking.

The funny thing about this trailer...it's giving me serious FFXV E3 Reveal vibes.

Warping on top of buildings, climbing on stuff, imperials, ect

Because it happens all the time, its free, and it looks fun?

I mean, Brave Exvius and and Record Keeper alone probably have 20 collabs between the two of them, nobody cares.

hmmm I wonder what the difference between two mobile gacha spinoffs predicated on universes randomly intersecting and a mainline entry is.

"Kingdom Hearts has Disney worlds AND final fantasy, where's your outrage?! salt.png"

It wouldn't just be awesome, it should be the overwhelming #1 priority. Any mechanics only accessible through time limited events or otherwise segregated via the main menu are essentially wasted.

Ppl do try and take out the final fantasy/original characters tho( every kingdom hearts thread has it

This game... I don't even...

I can't wait for the retrospectives in ten years time, when FFXV is best remembered for all the shitty mobile spin-offs and ridiculous advertising campaigns and cross-over content promotions. I already feel bad for everyone who thought the Cup Noodle segment was a step too far. If only they could have known how bad this would get =P

Don't worry I'm sure life will go on.

Cause XV was obviously the first FF game to have cross-promotions.

Life will go on, and XV will continue to revel in its biggest flaws. I can't think of any mainline FF game having cross-promotions and in game advertising even beginning to approach the egregiousness of XV's. I don't recall the Metroid suit and storyline in VI, or dressing Terra up as Link and fighting Ganon. I don't recall Cloud cosplaying as Crash Bandicoot, nor do I remember Squall fighting a Metal Gear while dressed as Solid Snake. It's especially weird to see so many people defending this kind of content after Square made that list of ALL the storyline, character, and gameplay shortcomings this game suffers from and asked fans which ONE thing they'd like to see improved. They know exactly what the issues are with Cor, Ravus, Aranea, Chapter 13 and the huge potential of everything after it, and that damn train, but they want to spend time on this instead.

I guess you also don't recall

And having this doesn't mean they're not working on something else.

If there was an in-game event featuring a collaboration with Dark Souls, I think people will go ballistic and say FFXV is tainting Dark Souls or something.

Yeah, not so sure about that. I mean, they can, but can they do it well? Doubt it.
They're a company. They have multiple teams. The team that Tabata is leading is not going to work on XVI (which is fantastic news for some of y'all). They're working on something else alongside tinkering with XV. XVI is most likely being made at the moment in an early phase.

Not crazy about Noct's, but the other guys' costumes looking fucking sick! I'm all for free content.

I just really hope there's another dedicated team working on fixing this game too.

I think I already got the dream egg from the previous carnival time when they first announced it was playable.

I wouldn't even call it an 'event'. Don't you just literally take a boat ride?
