Destiny on PC is a game changer

Aren't all blizzard store games higher played on PC? Overwatch? Diablo? Both have a bigger PC community then consoles afaik

PC is still only about a quarter of the market. so with multiplats there's going to be a lower audience out of the box

though i'm betting the install base in this case won't be as bad as CoD, battlefield, ect

The focus on ADS is so designed for consoles it hurts.
ADS (and all the accuracy and movement penalties it brings with it) was by far my biggest problem with Destiny. Coming from the creators of Halo it was a huge disappointment, that's for sure.

Anyway, haven't they made any changes to how it works on PC? I know there's a FOV slider, and the crosshair is at the center of the screen, but apart from that, have they made any other changes to make it feel better to PC players?

Shit, if they removed the accuracy penalties for jumping and hip-fire I would seriously consider building a PC to play Destiny 2 on it.

I can run it at 1080p 75 FPS with almost everything maxed except shadows @ medium and MSA.

With the highest AA setting it runs at 55~60 FPS which isn't bad.

Great port and most likely very friendly with older rigs. Hopefully the game delivers this time.

Can we just talk about how AMAZINGLY optimized this game is on PC? Its fucking ridiculous they were able to get this level of performance out looking this damn good. Going into the beta I was afraid I would not get decent framerate at 1440p on a 1070. I have never seen a PC port this well optimized. It runs like a godamn dream and I dont think I am going to double dip on PS4. I dont think i can go back at all.

30 fps and a controller is like playing a different game. Still fun, but a much different experience.

It's... hard for me to admit that I have any sort of disability, in fact, this is the first time I think I've publicly said it like that, so it's even harder to ask for options like this.

Living with this for as long as I have I am slowly coming to terms that things just aren't going to be the same for me. Or at the least it's going to take a very, very long time to recover and adapt again.

I'd really, really rather not have to give up some things that I love in the face of my struggle after all I've already lost.

The problem is, the majority don't care and are happy with the norm. In fact, a lot like to turn it into a superiority contest. Which is why I normally stay quiet.

I just... I want to have a fun time exploring with cool group of friends again like old times. I haven't done that in years and this seems like the perfect opportunity.

Welp,

Huh? Plenty of games have reached 60fps even on base xb1. No need to go down that road.

I really do think Bungie are just doing this for parity.

That has ZERO basis on anything.

That's like saying "Well, Thumper is 4K native/60fps on the PS Pro! How come Uncharted 4 isn't 4K/60?"

Different games have different requirements, and Destiny has clear requirements that make use of the CPU.

Any game can reach 60fps if the devs limit it enough, but then it wouldn't be the same game.

This is exactly what Bungie has said.

Haven't played either version but kind of hoping my brother don't want to play Destiny 2 xD He will play on PS4 if he will play at all. And I kind of feel I have to play with. And want to. Really want to. But also want the PC version. Shared saves and I would double dip without a doubt.

Let's not go crazy. Games like Doom or Battefield 1 looked great (better than the Strike or the Crucible maps) and run as good if not better than Destiny.

Yup it feels amazing at 60fps

Getting 60fps locked with everything on high on a 970 wich is pretty good as well

I ain't never going back to playing this on consoles

I'm double dipping.

I run this on a 1080 ti on a 3440x1440 screen at max and get well over 60 fps. It's a thing of beauty.

I have a friend with a gtx 580 that can run it on high at 60 fps, lol. Crazy optimization.

I suck at pvp with m+kb though.

The PC version is so fucking good.
The aiming is so smooth, the console version just won't be able to keep up. Finally people being vetter at aiming are shining,a bigger skill gap is better

The only thing grinding my gears is if I change weapons through the mouse wheel sometimes it randomizes to which weapon it will change, even if there is no ammo on the weapon.

Seems to be the general consensus.

Slightly funny people are just now realizing it.

I've tried out the PC version at a friends house, It does play and run really well. I thought Destiny played well with a controller but playing with a mouse is a big advantage. Shame I just don't have the time to build my own PC.

LOL, what story and Lore?

Now, seriously. You're fine. There wasn't a story in destiny 1, tbh.
The story itself is nothing to worry about, but there's actually a lot of really cool lore in D1. Now the way the lore is delivered is up for debate, but it's there and it's pretty wild.

I'm wondering how they will balance the difficulty. If the PC version is identical to the console version then the raids and strikes are going the be too easy I feel like.

144fps, better FOV and M/K will make the content significantly easier.

Yeah, the Lore is pretty rich. You do have to investigate a lot but it is pretty cool.

It's kind of crazy that such an online focused game doesn't have the ability to be played on consoles and pc's using the same save. I hate bloody having to choose one version....

It's not that they can't, they won't.

It's fine by me, no fully equipped raid decked guys at launch.

However while I don't like the launch side of cross save, they should add it a bit later once it evens out.

Played it yesterday was pretty good for what it was, never played the original or the console versions so can't compare. Aiming is hilariously easy with mouse and keyboard. Hand cannon or assault rifle hipfire headshots are trivially easy which apparently isn't the case on console. Might get it on release. The Inverted Spire thingy was a snoozefest but I assume it's low level content?

As for the 2 or 3 people saying this has the best shooting mechanics or whatever, no just stop DOOM is unquestionably better.

Weird to say this since they are both essentially the same game but Destiny 2 Console streams gave a a Destiny 1.5 vibe while the PC streams undoubtedly made me feel as though the game was a true departure from the first and a definitive next installment.
