XBL: Games with Gold

Hydro Thunder is fantastic. Everyone needs to be grabbing it as soon as they can. Don't sleep on it.

I'm totally in for everything else. I haven't played a Forza that isn't Horizon since 2 and have heard nothing but good things about Oxenfree. Girlfriend will get mileage out of Battlefield.

I got bored of it after launch, but have played Forza 6 to death and though I'd play some of the races left in Forza 5. But I grew bored once again, lol.

The only reason to play it now is for achievements and to reach a higher Forza tier for better rewards in all Forza games.

Yep. I think I still have a few points I could scrape out of F5 to help me to the next Forza hub tier for better rewards

Would have preferred FH1 as I have the most left to unlock there.

I had a lot of fun with it. By far my most played game the first couple of years owning the XBOX ONE. Worth every cent of the 80+ dollars I paid. Pissed me off when the saved game got corrupt and I lost my 150+ level driver and millions of dollars worth of cars!!!

Anyway, I don't think paying a few bucks for Forza 5 is stupid and it's enough of a game for many so paying the extra for 6 or 7 isn't worth it.
 
Didn't we already have Forza 5. Such a weak entry of the series. Already own Oxenfree, no interest into BF3 at all, same with Hydro Thunder I guess although I will definitely try that.

Weak month for me but it's okay, the last one was great.

Nah this is the first time it's been GwG. You might be thinking of free weekends which they have done in the past.

You should. It truly is a brilliant game. Intense gameplay, very well designed tracks with shortcuts and secrets, many boats to unlock... one of the best arcade racers there is.

Sounds promising. Especially because I just learned it also features local coop.

This is one of the first times I've ever tried to get a game with Gold (just bought a XB1S last month) and I'm a bit confused about how to redeem Hydro Thunder. It only gives me the option to buy the game for full price, or to try the demo. I had the same problem with Red Faction: Armageddon. Is it possible to claim 360 games through a browser, or do I have to do it on a console?

I'm using the 14 day free trial, if it makes any difference.

The trial doest allow GWG. Need a minimum of one month paid. You can sometimes get those for $1 on grey market sites or random Xbox promos I the dashboard.

Not sure if it still is the case but trials were always excluded from gwg

Ohh, alright. I got Slime Rancher, Forza, and Trials Fusion with the trial, but I guess BC games don't count since they are permanently in your library. Makes sense! I'll be buying Gold either way after the trail expires, so I'll just get it then.

Yep you can get xb1 games with trials over 48 hours I believe. 360 games you need at least a month.

I'm not sure how the 14-Day Trial might affect things, but even as a full-time Gold Member the BC 360 games show the dollar price for me when browsing, and only switches to state "free" at the actual Check-Out page (immediately before the final button click to confirm purchase). I dunno how far you've gone in the process.

this is so damn stupid.. like you are playing a racing game with 60fps and when are you going to just stop and just look at the crowd? like WHEN? I've never did this. but some people just try to nitpick and try to make everything look bad. although its so damn ridiculous.

Horizon 1 was already featured in Games with Gold.

And even if you missed it you can play it on the XONE via BC. SP is fully playable, not sure about multiplayer since the digital version was delisted. Also I'm not sure if it updates properly in the Forza Hub, on my account it didn't fully update despite me playing it a couple of months ago.

I think part of the joke is when someone sent it to Yusef Mehdi saying it was the crowd in Japan for XB1 launch or something, he retweeted it believing it was real
 
I don't really get peoples dislike of Forza 5. I thought having a game of that quality and size at the launch of the console was great, I played the game for months. It's not a very high bar but I think it's one of the best console launch titles ever.

As far as racing games go it was either that or one of the worst NFS games (Rivals, which I also picked up day one), if you opted for a PS4 you were stuck with that up until Driveclub released.

Not sure. It's not available until the 16th so it's hard to say right now as nothing will have the free with gold tagline until the 16th. Might need to get it from within the game but I'm not 100% will just have to wait and see

I'm pretty sure it was gwg before in Japan but I can't remember how it worked back then. Edit: something in the back of my mind is telling me the game didn't used to be f2p though

I already own the standard version of forza 5 digital. I want to upgrade it to goty edition with gwg bt it just says redeem a code. Any way to do this
 
Oxenfree is fantastic, but they talk too much, you will want to skip conversations you started later in the game.LIS has it right, 10-15 secs conv, not 2 minutes.

Actually, I don't think most people have that problem of wanting to skip the convos lol. Why would convos need to be 10-15 seconds? That's a strange comment.

Forza 5 and Forza 5: Racing game of the year edition are two separate things on the store. All you get is a Top Gear car dlc.
 
Torment Tides of Numenera is currently 60% off I believe with Gold...did it run well on the X1...? interested in trying this.
