Day 1 for me. I just wanna play. A lot of stuff really annoyed me pre-release, but I have a feeling all of that will likely go away once I start playing the actual game.

since I'm a noob (havent played since Arcade versions in the NA) I look forward to pretty much all the cast I must admit. Ignorance is bliss as they say

Max just confirmed on his stream that he might be getting the game a week early but he can only stream versus until launch.

I'm going to start making calls later this week. Hopefully shipments get sent out early next week.
That's the only thing anyone wants to watch on a stream anyway unless you are desperate to see the female Hunter and possibly Venom models, but im sure someone will quickly post those online anyway.
Edit: Marvel is back to 24.49 on cdkeys so I think that means it's back under $30?
You can also apply a 5% discount from their Facebook code to drop it to 23.26 which is what I paid weeks ago.
There's barely any footage of anyone playing it outside of Max/Tyrant because the marketing for this game has been bizarro world where they're afraid to actually show it off because they've managed to make a game that's probably even less casual friendly than MvC3.

I mean, to be fair, its not like companies putting out videos of pros playing the games is a "thing".
Hell, outside of character reveal trailers, Bandai isnt doing that with DBZF either. Once again its Max (lol) doing all the work with actual specific mechanics and breakdown videos.
Plus, it wouldnt shock me in the least if the whole shill shitstorm cooled them off showing more pros playing the game tbh, or the pros themselves didnt want to be out there because of the shill stuff.
Of course, but I remember the MvC3 buildup, and there were a lot of long gameplay sessions from various events popping up all over the place.

oh sure. But yeah, the shitstorm with the game was so stupid, even if a lot of it was justified (and a lot wasnt) it wouldnt surprise me it made them go more radio silent than they would otherwise. We'll never know I guess.
And you seemed to imply they are "hiding" the game when that isnt true at all, I think youre being a little unfair. They have been super open with giving people the game to play, from various events where Tyrant seems to get all his footage from, to letting those cats in glasgow yesterday do their little tournament, to having it playable at all the events and of course letting Max take direct footage and also go to Capcom to show off...well whatever he wanted apparently.
Perhaps it's because of how social media grew since the MvC3 days, Capcom & Bamco thought it'd be more worthwhile to have the likes of Max demonstrate the game for their channel rather than put up extra gameplay videos on their channel beyond the character reveals. That being said, I recall Capcom uploading a control layout trailer around E3.
watching a ton of UMVC3 videos lately on Max's channel, Max seems to have...fun with the game. He's fun to watch.
Why the fuck could Doom OTG with no assist anyway when 95% of the cast couldnt in that game? Such bullshit.

Definitely not normal damage, look at how little his slashes are doing. That super is his level 3 which is why it still took off a good chunk of health.
look at how little dmg ryu is doing and then the dmg strider does when he comes in, it's definately more.

Ryu reset with an overhead. It's not all one combo.
As much as find that there is still a lot of ugly with the game (faces, voice acting, UI and menus), I just love Marvel gameplay and I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and pre-order it at full price.
It's been a good 7 years at minimum since I last bought a game at full price plus I completely dodged the SFxTekken and SFV games so I can afford to take a hit here.
I could just wait for a price drop, but Capcom is probably going to make good on their pre-order exclusivity on those pre-order costumes and even though I have zero interest in those characters, who knows what the future will bring. Especially since I messed around with the majority of characters in Marvel 3.
I want to get it on Amazon though and I have no idea if they are getting pre-order codes or why they only have the normal edition on sale. Kinda strange.

Capcom has never kept pre-order bonus costumes exclusive to pre-orders. They have always been made available later.

Too bad you waited, earlier on preorders for this were getting way cheaper than $60. I'm in at Amazon for $40.
Those pre-order alts will sold individually like a month after release. They did the same thing with UMvC3's pre-order bonuses.
I'd love to hear the justification for dumping the iconic themes for Marvel characters. I assume it's probably along the lines of wanting the game to be "more cinematic".

I think this is one of those corporate brand synergy decisions where disney execs want to keep their characters consistent across all mediums. So the music on the marvel side is supposed to be evocative of the music from the movies. This might be one of the weirder 'it'll appeal to non fighting game players' decisions.
Of course this A.) is stupid because outside of a few exceptions the scores for those movies are completely forgettable and B.) who actually cares because I mute the music in most fighting games and listen to my own after a week or two.

I was so salty about dudes who had urley Mahvel last time around.
It's kind of nice to have anticipated something so heavily which actually had staying power for me. It's not like when you look forward to the new Star Wars movie, then finally watch it and go about your day. UMVC3 stuck with me for six years.
