I'm pretty sure the servers unlock at midnight in whatever region you are in for both the digital or physical version.

Glam answered, but for first timers to Destiny, it is always online. There is no offline component.

You'll need to be able to connect to the internet to play the game but if you want to log on and play on your own then yeah you'll have a load of fun. I played through Destiny 1 on my own for the most part. Only during Strikes and some Nightfalls did I team up with others. Strikes will have matchmaking but for Nightfalls/Raids you'll need to find others to play with.

As much as I enjoyed playing on my own I would definitely have done more Nightfalls and Raids but I found them difficult to get into. The good thing with D2 is that Bungie have made changes to make it easier to get into them. I am hopeful that I can experience them but I also expect to spend a lot of time on my own.

So, I'm foregoing the Warlock in favour of the Titan with D2 as my friend has locked down the Lock. The question now is; male or female? I went female for my D1 titan because I liked the head-canon of this violent, gung-ho, punch-everything woman storming into battle but at the same time if it's going to be my main I like the idea of just this bulky juggernaut of death smashing through everything.

I know it's completely personal and not much input can be made, just feeling the pressure to decide now it's ~12hrs away from me. Lock will be Male Exo, Hunter Female Awoken.

Didn't play Destiny 1 at all but super excited to dive into 2 on PS4 in 3hrs! I'm mostly a solo player but keen to try my hand at this pvp thing.

Kinda miss the old universal "games almost always come out Monday night/Tuesday morning" thing. I know it still mostly is that way for most AAA retail releases, but like with this not unlocking until almost Wednesday for Pacific timezone, I burn almost a full day off of my weekend waiting for it to unlock, haha. I usually work Friday-Monday, so it's kind of perfect if there's ever a big game I wanna dump a couple days off on releasing by Tuesday morning.

Oh well, the wait continues.
