Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Awwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. One moment please...... then a message pops up about user agreement.... back to one moment please.... ooommmgggg

So with Destiny 1, I always heard it probably wasn't the best game to get if you wanted to go mostly lone wolf/alone with no co-op. Is there a good feeling about whether this will remain true with Destiny 2?

The setting has always been appealing to me. I'm just not a huge co-op person.

The SP story is much better from word of mouth. But the long game is co-op.

Destiny GAF (DGAF) is huge on both platforms, so you won't have trouble finding players to help should you change you mind.

Those who've been playing it. How far can I expect to get in a couple of hours, including taking time to look around and appreciate what's there?

How am I going to concentrate for the next two days.

So my only hesitation about getting this game is that the friends I played D1 with are not playing anymore and I have nobody to play this with.

I've never played with people outside of my friend groups but I would be open to playing with gaffers. How do I get involved with getting in on a GAF clan? Or playing with gaffers in general? Is there a seperate thread?

I play on Xbox One and my GT is Mayyhem

Two questions:

How big is the download on PC?

And

Is this worth getting on PC if I can only play with controller?

Currently between moves and my PC isn't in a place I can use kb&m and the internet sucks fucking balls :(

Thanks

You are stating this in what is GAF's biggest community. There will plenty of people to play with. Hit up the OT with the discord info and go from there.

Can anybody with a physical copy let me know what the day one patch size is?

I know the digital versions got a 6 GB patch. However, the digital version that went up for pre-load has a good chance of not being the same as the "gone gold" disc version, I assume.

My internet is rural and horrible (thanks, Rise Broadband, for being the worst). I have decent ping but horrible downstream. A 6 GB patch is probably 3-6 hours for me, but I have heard rumors of an 18 GB patch for the physical copies, which means I need to make other plans to physically bring the PS4 someplace and download the patch there.

I wish you could make PSN download the patch for a game you plan to buy.

Thanks for any help!

I'd like to know the patch size top as my internet is ass as well.

For those that are already playing it, the start of a new Destiny is always special. So enjoy the fucking ride. We won't get another Destiny for a good 3 - 4 years.

I'll be getting the game tomorrow when I get out of work and have 2 days off afterwards.

Can not wait to see the magnificence of Hunters again in action.

See ya'll in the other side.

I thought the beta was great with a controller. As someone who prefers controller over KB&M(because I'm weird I guess) I thought Destiny 2 was perfect with a controller. But with all the moaning and complaining about the aim assist, I'm not sure how the full release will be...

Well fuck! If I get PS4 version now, will I be able to use my character on PC when it's released or are they platform specific?

Thanks though.

No. No cross save or character transfers between systems. Sucks :/

Glad to hear it's not just mine, at least...

I spoke to their customer service line after a 30 minute wait and they did tell me I'll have it tmrw. However, I could unfortunately barely understand a word the guy said so it was a very short conversation. Crossing my fingers. I never EVER order stuff from GameStop, but this was the only option on the limited edition.

Here I thought the launch was today, not tonight. Back to Horizon Zero Dawn it is before it's on the back burner the next month.

^Yep, that's what I just encountered at GameStop for the LE.

I mean, I could get it on PS4 now, but just reading that cross platform saves are unconfirmed. May as well just wait until October, can't be arsed putting in work on a character and then not being able to switch to 4K 60 in a months time.

That's definitely not in at launch.

Just paused now to come here and say that this game is fucking awesome, it surpassed my expectations by a mile.

Even the "adventures" you find on the map are really cool and feel like the main missions from D1.
