Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

So that is neat.

If you have Guardian at max level and done story == gotten access to sparrow then your other Guardians will get sparrow immediately upon arriving to EDZ.

Also inventory (tokens, shaders, mods...) is shared across all characters.

Talk about QoL improvement.

So who (ending spoilers) <inserspoilerhere>

We don't know, speculation to be had.

Confirmed there's no section in The collections area in your vault for ships and Sparrows.

I'm surprised there isn't a biggger commotion over this.

Why there would be?

No way they let you put them into collections (shaders don't have one anymore either) for easy reprints after changes to them.

And people seem to be fine with that.

So who (ending spoilers)
the fuck is that in the pyramid like ships in the post-ending cutscene?
I remember them showing up in concept art back when Destiny 1 was announced so they're something a long time thought of. My money is on a new enemy faction that is a real physical enemy to fight that is 'the darkness'

Sharp eyes have noted that during exposition sequences that explain the traveler's fight in both games the image shown of the traveler getting damaged was a large triangle prism piercing it. So yeah.

I don't want to discredit this game's QoL improvements, and those are amazing, but inventory carrying over was in Destiny 1 as well, and afaik Sparrows unlocked early in Destiny 1 so that's not so much an improvement as lifting on a restriction Destiny 2 put on itself.

Jesus. Christ.
Failsafe
is awful...I see so much praise.
Her other half is the fucking worst.
I felt that way initially as well, but she grew on me. Still, she seems like Bungie trying to hard to tap into what made Portal/Portal 2 special

What's the level requirement for the third subclass does anyone know?

None. It drops randomly. Try doing more public events

It should become available as drop at level 15

How do you unlock Nightfalls again?

Increase your Power Level to... 230 or was it 240? You should then get Milestone stuff about it.

Could be. Been fucking ages since I have touched to D1.

A good theory I read was that it's the World Eater which I believe is a Hive thing. It lines up with the Exotic weapon quest line for an exotic power weapon you get post game

I doubt they are The Darkness itself, but more likely race that was looooong time ago ascended by Traveler and then at their heights they were corrupted and turned by The Darkness. Making them original race to worship Darkness and original army Darkness wielded against known Universe.

5th hostile race to attack our Solar System, like they had originally planned. I personally expect them to be introduced as antagonists in Year 2 DLC. Like Oryx was teased in Vanilla D1 and 1st DLC, then introduced in Year 2 DLC aka TTK.

Yeah, but the
World Eater thing has to do with killing Cabal and intercepting Cabal transmissions
. And there's a whole Adventure about
the Cabal Emporer wanting to "consume" planets
. It being a Hive thing would make no sense in that context.

I think the
world eater is leviathan.

Lmao lmao (dialogue spoilers)
I am eager to discredit vuvuzela's plan

My two favorite dialogues:

1 -

Failsafe: Zavala, can I speak to the guardian in private?
Zavala: What? No, all channels must remain open to everyone so we ca-
Failesafe: Boop!
Failesafe: *disconnect everyone*
2 -

Failsafe: Zavala. Cayde Unit. Kindly delete yourselves!

In the opening video that explains how the golden age that lost, the Traveler is shown and the darkness is
creeping over it in the shape of a triangle.

Sorry for page bump, but I really want to know...

You don't [level up gear nodes] any more?

Do you level up gear at all?

So how do gear nodes work now? Is everything just unlocked when you get the gear?

IF SO, does gear drop much more frequently now?

Am I missing something here? Played for 3 hours or so in a variety of story and adventures but no random players have been with me. Is there something I need to change in settings or have I just been unlucky?

I had this for a while too, I think once you hit a certain level more people start showing up. Correct me I'm I'm wrong here... but I think the game is smart enough to know where you are progress wise and tries to instance you in different.... instances.

Yup! so much better this way too! No more pesky gear leveling, yay!

Good fucking shit. I was complaining last night that taking a new character through the campaign would be tedious. Having a sparrow saves sooo much time

True, but
that doesn't really conflict with my theory about Triangles being first and foremost army of The Darkness while not being The Darkness itself. As Traveler decided to stay and fight back it just decimated Triangle invaders like it did with Garry the Juicer in Destiny 2.

Two things I'm really disappointed with.

1. I got the impression that the Farm was supposed to be a part of the EDZ map. Really disappointing that they couldn't integrate the social areas with the game world. Feels very dated.

2. I hate that they removed the Quest system. It made the story and overall missions feel so much more cohesive. I liked how the quests could contain everything from patrols, to missions and strikes. It just tied the whole experience together in a very nice way. The milestones system is just a return to vanilla. I really hope they implement the Quest tab again. If not only to satisfy the "RPG" vibe that TTK did so fucking well.

So I'm currently at 223, what exactly is the best way to go about getting better gear? I've just been doing random stuff but not sure if there's a better way: strikes maybe?

Compare to Destiny 1:

This is night and day different.

Eh, you're only comparing it to vanilla Destiny at release 3 years ago. Destiny has come a long way since then, with the 4 expansions. There are definitely some QOL improvements in Destiny 2, but I don't think the core game is drastically different than D1. For many of us, that's exactly what we wanted - more of the same awesomeness. For others, if you didn't like Destiny, I'm not sure D2 would keep you entertained after the initial honeymoon period.

I'm a big fan of
the speaker telling ghaul to feel free to kill himself. I said Damn.

Yea that was pretty awesome. I have a lot of respect for the Speaker. He didn't have much screentime but it was pretty quality, albeit not that original given his role.

Overall I really liked the characterization given to each of the main players this time. I hope it continues and we eventually find out what happened with the Queen etc from D1.

The only character I really didn't like was this new Hawthorne lady.

Hey folks, just a quick note to keep the thread friendly. Two examples:

Idk. I'm not really feeling the story at all. Some of the missions are uniquely designed specifically the
Arcology
one on Titan. The story itself though...kinda sucks? Much better than the first one obviously but still not great. Just barely above good for me rn. I just got to
Io
so who knows. The game itself is awesome though. So much to do.

Question, should I do the adventures before I finish the campaign or after? I'm kinda leaning towards after but idk what's the best.
