Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

All right I dove back into Destiny after stopping after Crota in the first one. I'll admit I missed some of you fuckers.

Hit level 9, so far liking the progression a LOT more than the first game.

I see a lot of posts here about what to do when you hit 260, but what about that middle area from 200-260?

Just got to Nessus...so far story is not much of an improvement over D1. Sure it may have more "cutscenes" and dialogue but they are all corny as hell.

Bruvs, this talk breaks my heart. I quite enjoy the exchanges between Failsafe and Ghost. Now, the real lame fuck boy in the neighborhood is that Asher fellow. Fucking needs to shut the hell up, that one. Talking all of that nonsense I don't care about.

Asher is worse than Failsafe, I'll give you that. It's just that both of them are tryhard, shit characters.

Yeah, the dialogue gets progressively worse as the game goes on.

Anyone else feel like the story
is a big salute to Zavala, Ikora and Cayde? Like I know you're literally the central character in a much bigger sense than ever before, but the 3 of them have had so much development that it feels like the writers wanted to show their story through you. I mean really you're just a vehicle to execute their plans.

Is everyone here skipping the PC version? Or double dipping? Destiny 2 looks like a lot of fun, just wondering if it's going to still be popular in a month or so when the PC version drops.

Oh you sweet summer child...

Yes it will still be popular

I wouldn't worry about the game's popularity on any platform. The population will be high everywhere - for years.

Failsafe is one of my favorite new characters. I love her voice. So cute.

Agreed, my favorite personality from D2 by far.

Has some of the most lol-worthy lines too

Man I never used the consumable from D1 that let you jump up leveling. Let me bring that over dammit!

I hadn't either, but I think even if you used it you would still need to go through all the story in order to unlock everything :(

Double dipping, I was going to not get the PS4 version as I had already pre-ordered the PC game, but.... couldn't hold out :p

Did they say anything about removing aim assist on the PC for PvP? I am not buying this game if PvP is ruined by this. The Beta was a mess already because of that...

i'm not skipping. i only bought it on PS4 because i couldn't wait. once 24th october arrives i'll be uninstalling it from my PS4 and going all in on PC.

that 60fps, 105 fov, and kb/m....so good.

I think people hate consumable shaders because now you basically have to wait until endgame every major content grind before you can safely set up your desired color scheme.

I know I will never use any rarer shader (raid, IB, Trials, seasonal event...) if I don't have healthy and big stack of that shit so I'm left with plenty leftover after shading set.

Which most likely means I will next to never use cooler shaders.

Quick question, how do you get the planet ghosts (apart from the free EDZ one)?

I got to level 20 before hitting Nessus because I replayed a lot of content to help friends, so I guess I should finish the campaign to start that power grind in form. That wall that starts at 200 though..

I think the basic story is pretty par the course for Bungie, but it can't compare to Destiny 1. There was literally NOTHING at stake in that game in vanilla, as a result - if you were not invested in anything you were doing, you had no idea what or why you were doing it. The figure heads of the tower could have basically been non existent as all they did was tell you to kill stuff over the speaker because they are darkness and you are light. It was early elementary quality story, this is more like late elementary quality story.

looks like i've got about 5 campaign missions left.

i am enjoying it but i just want it out the way. i'm lvl 20 (205) now. once the campaign is done then i'll just go back and clear up any adventures and start farming stuff.

i played quite a bit of D1 and couldn't tell you who Cayde, Zavala, or Ikora were. I know it said their names in game when you spoke to them but never paid attention. I only put a face to the name when they started marketing D2.

i'm not saying the story is amazing or anything but when people say it's just as bad as D1 then i can't help but laugh. i went from not having a clue anyone was or why i was doing anything to actually being interested what happens next and i now have my favourite characters...

I just looked up her VA and whoa, she's pretty too.

I want FailSafe on my phone so she can bipolar respond to my requests for information on the weather or where I can find the best place to eat tacos in Naples... D:

I couldn't tell you who they were in base Destiny 1...
But by the time the Rise of Iron expansion happened, they became much more prominent and I could name them. Especially Cayde-6.

from 200-265 just do whatever you want. Lost sectors, adventures, public events, strikes, crucible. It's all good. I went from 226 to 262 last night just by dicking around in the EDZ. (and finally finishing the story).

on a different note I've only had 1 exotic engram drop. a bunch of legendary ones though.

What's the deal with Phoenix Dive? Was trying to do the challenge on Nessus and did it once fine but it never triggered again when I pressed OO. Is it on some kind of cooldown? I thought there might have been an issue with my controller but it seems to be receiving inputs fine.

That's what I mean :)

Yeah I think with TTK/ROI they improved the story/characters but I only played them for the first time this year in preparation for D2. I played D1 back at launch and stopped after the first expansion because I couldn't keep up or get into raids.

Clans are active, per someone in my clan.

actually i just want to get the story done with so i can get a sparrow!

I love that the maps are bigger but it's seriously a pain to get around. In D1 i hated using a sparrow lol.

i just stopped playing for the day and now clans go active? lol. you're all welcome :D

can i see clan members in game and play with them or do i need to add them on PSN?

Yeah. Jumping and running through the DZ last night I would kill for a sparrow. Did manage to steal a Pike a couple times which was nice

I don't know when Ikora got so self-righteous and preachy but damn it is annoying. You're a WARLOCK. Be a warlock!

Aren't warlocks self righteous and preachy? That's the impression I had from D1 grimoire and lore related warlock items.

PS: Not trying to start a class debate, and I am a warlock main myself!
