Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

The fact that small clans get punished so hard sucks. I was running with 5 friends and we disbanded to join a Reddit clan just because that's really the only way to level up reasonably quickly. Laaaaaame.
Yea I'm in a clan with only a few others also, and I might have to find a clan on here to join. Pretty dumb system tbh.

Just found a random hole in the side of a rock, no markers or anything, thought there might be a chest... 20 minutes later I get to the end of this massive cavern that seemed to never end. Boss and chest and everything. So cool.

You talking about the exotics you get that come with a +5 power mod?

Basically:

You have an exotic that's 250 power, but it came with a +5 power mod, and you have a 250 blue - you can infuse the exotic with that blue to boost it to effective 255 power.

Well that's a neat feature ! Thanks for the explanation :D

Way of the sharpshooter for gunslingers is no joke. It's an orb machine.

Never thought that a gunslinger could be an orb machine, but they did it, the absolute madmen.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to be in a fireteam otherwise you'll be alone in the instance. They're introducing guided games I believe next week or 2 where you'll be able to group up in game with others looking for a person.

That is just a baffling design decision. Anyone down for a Nightfall? I'm a 240 Arc-Hunter. PSN name is same.

Yep, way more enemies. Although I'm thankful there's way less bulletsponge enemies so I was able to solo the campaign without any frustration.

Less bullet sponges sounds promising! I finally broke and am downloading it now lol.

Did Sony get some special download servers up for Destiny 2? because this is downloading really fast

Do alts level up faster? just started a titan and pretty much realised I don't have neither the energy nor time to make the commitment of running 3 characters like I did with the first game. Hopefully alts do level up faster so I can get to 20 quick with this titan and that's what I'm gonna leave it at for when I want to switch it up from my hunter. if they don't level up faster then I'm gonna stick with just the hunter

Is this game fun solo?

I've played the campaign mode, and adventures solo for about 18hours and it's been fantastic. I have been doing lots of public quests if they're around. Eventually though I plan to group up for the strikes, nightfall, and raids.
Excited to finish the campaign, two levels left I think.

When you start the game, you get to see stuff you did in destiny 1. That was pretty cool, but then i saw some stuff that me and Drizzay did, and it kinda make me sad. He was such a good member of the community.

RIP DRIZZ

thats a nice shader yo

Expect to wipe countless times if going in blind...

It's like hazing. You bond over the pain.

You playing solo or with a group?

No way, blind raids are the best! I mean, you expect to wipe a zillion times, that's part of the fun.

My favorite gaming memory period is still doing King's Fall blind with a bunch of randos. I had the day off. Took us 13 hours to beat it, but we did it!

You're not being punished you're just not able to get the perks that people get from having clans. Reminds me of the people saying it was unfair that people that weren't good at PvP couldn't get to the Lighthouse. In this case you're not missing anything significant. Crazy how much impressions vary. I have five people in my clan and we've all been happy with the rate at which we've been able to level it over the course of a single day of play.

This "end game" is pretty meh.

Get to end, infuse items. Make new character, get to end, swap back, send main items, turn in quests, reap higher level exotics/legendaries. Rinse and repeat.

They keep forgetting they need something after the Campaign.

I know :D

I'm just joking. It's just one of those things where it is so fucking frustrating but you're all together working towards a goal. It's a memory you curse and adore at the same time.

Hence the hazing comparison! (joking)

I don't know, I'm pretty happy with how the end-game is shaping up to be honest. Having a lot of fun just playing the game however I like and getting rewarded for it, and there's enough stuff to fill personal goals to chip away at for me. Can only imagine it's going to get better as the game goes on and there are more zones and activities. Certainly feel there's more than enough (including when the raid drops, trials comes and other events pop up) to see me through December for Osiris.

You playing solo or with a group?

Solo at the moment. Like with the first game, I'll do the campaign by myself first so I can explore/look at vistas/hunt for chests at my own pace. Then I'll come back with friends on higher difficulties.

Once my Hunter gets some of her powers back, I'll be fine. Just wasn't expecting such big crowds so early on.

I hit Power Level 269 today thanks to a 273 Insurmountable Skullfort exotic engram decryption, 273 legendary chest, and a 273 Out of Options void submachine gun. Feels good! Wish I felt like I could spare some of my damned shaders

This is me. I've absolutely loved the campaign so far. I thought I would be sick to death of the Hive by now but the missions on
Titan
blew me away with the atmosphere.

The environment design in general has me really pumped to see what they come up with visually for the raid.

I mean that's all loot games though. Eventually it turns into a point where you have to grind and/or make a new character. That's the nature of the genre.

The judge of it is how many avenues are available to grind, so that it never gets too repetitive and everyone can advance in different ways. D1 boiled down to having two activities (Nightfall and Raid) that would get you the best loot, and if you didn't do them you never felt like you were really making gains.

This game has a lot more endgame options and ways to get that higher tier loot. At the end of the day yes, it's a grind. But it's a more varied and interesting one than it was.

Nice.

I don't think it applies to the campaign, but be careful of doing fireteams in the open areas - things will get crazier than when you were out there solo.

Like a raid?
jk, but we are missing a pretty big piece of the puzzle for how the endgame is going to feel longterm

Trying to do a quest -- does anyone know a good place to find Cabal/Red Legion on Nessus? The whole planet seems to be mostly Vex and Fallen.

I felt I was out of stuff to do in the first 3 hours after reaching 20. Only thing left for me to is make new toons repeatedly to push to 300.

Did you do all of Ikora's Meditations? Those get you a legendary engram. Or Shaxx's Call to Arms? The Nightfall? Cayde's Treasure Maps? All the exotic quests? Lost sectors? The adventures? Are you in a clan? If you are, did you do your Weekly XP gain? That gets you great stuff.

I've been balls deep playing and haven't looked. Is there slow down on the major public events on all systems? PS4/pro like there is in Xbox one S? Like massive single digit frame rates when all hell is breaking loose while guarding the glimmer. Or is this a Xbox only issue and hopefully the. One X also fixes this.

Thoughts? Thanks

I'm on PS4 Pro and I haven't noticed any major frame drops.

Legacy quests? Adventures? I finished the story and am at 230 Light, and still have a ton of stuff to do.

How viable is the Nightfall to 2-man now?

My friend and I used to run through them in D1 together, was often a struggle but very satisfying when done. Wouldn't mind if it simply wasn't possible in D2, just want some idea on whether to try.

Unless you are some of the best Destiny players and 300 light it's not..
