Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

First time seeing these. One of the few exotic that actually looks like it. They probably have some trash perks like "better equip speed and handling for sidearms" smh lol

This thing's perk is alright.

Anybody has the link to that Reddit levelling guide? I can't find it in my history.

Also had the biggest jump scare pretty much ever. I went to unlock the Voidwalker subclass on my Warlock. Entered the portal...got stuck in a white screen...Moved around a bit and the portal spit me out...and now...all sound and music was gone. Whatever, maybe entering the portal again will fix it. So I turned my sound up to verify if it wasn't my TV and then went back it and it loaded correctly. Went around with the voice overs for the light figures, not playing. Until I approach one of them expecting more silence and forgetting that my sound was stupid high. Now the voice triggered for that one goddamn asshole, I passed by expecting nothing. Think I aged 10 years from that one.

Here you go!

10.5 hours spent today and not 1 fucking pair of legendary gloves. How, how is this possible? 1 in 8 chance and I lost track of how many fucking tokens I've gathered today... I have 260 blue gloves and everything else is 270...

Zomg I didn't realize the little + marks on the map were chests and the rainbow thing was secret areas with a mini boss / chest, I just spent hours doing a few of those and hitting up events lol

There's definitely way more meat vs Destiny 1's launch by far.

Ugh I just wish they'd do something with shaders, I have maxed out money and nothing to do with it... if I could spend it to replace shaders without losing them all or something I might actually start using them, but at this rate I'd be going through dozens because of how often gear is changing on me

I think I'm good to go.

Between now and Wednesday it'll be looking for legendary engram drops to take me any higher, it seems like the faction rep folks are all capped out at 265 for me.

Should I use the tokens now or is it like the first game where the gear you get is based on your light level?

It's based on light level but once you're over 240 or so, I say go for it. I hit major bumps at 250 relying solely on blues and I'm just about through another massive one at 265-270.

I'm still at 130, I'll start using them when I get to 240-250. Thanks.

Is there any way to teleport to your fireteam members' location when doing random stuff on a world? Heck when they teleport away you can't even see their locations marked on the map.

It seems so inelegant if you can't do that, unless maybe I'm missing something.

did I f myself by submitting all of my tokens to the vendors (the lady on the farm, the lady on Titan ) so early in the game? I'm only level 13

its telling me I need to be level 20 to claim my rewards from them. should I not claim it until my light level is higher than whatever I get right at 20?

Not really to be fair, the tokens are reasonably easy to farm up, but you'll be around 210-230 at level 20, so the purples you get will decrypt about there. You can rely on blues up to about 250 then it'll be a mixture of both until 265-270.

Just save the next lot of tokens you farm up. Simply doing all the adventures on a planet will give you a bunch.

Edit:

100% my current favourite is Tarnished Copper.

That is nice, yeah!

You can do it but you'll get creamed if you aren't very situationally aware. Tons of adds , rotating element burns and TONS of shielded enemies. It's harder by far then any of the original nightfalls.

Thought it was easier than all the nightfalls in vanilla Destiny. Beat it on the first try with 6 minutes to spare. Got the Rat King first go.

As long as each member has one of each element and communicates, its actually really easy to build momentum and steamroll the AI.

How does this game look at 4k on Pro? I have a Pro but only a 1080p tv.

Really good. It uses a dynamic horizontal scaler, so you get true 4K vertical and near 4K horizontal. The result is it's between 3-4 times the resolution of 1080p at all times. If you have a big TV, it's noticeable.

I think I've fallen out of love with Hakke in Destiny 2. So far they just don't seem to have "it". Only one I've found that has really impressed me is a kinetic SMG, which seems really solid and has really good range for an SMG, feels more like an MP5.

What really has caught my attention the most so far is this Omolon SR called Seven-Six-Five. If you find one of these take it for a spin, it seems disgustingly good. Plus is sounds wonderful.

RNG hates me lol, completed the story got exotic gauntlets, decoded some more legendary engrams and i get Legendary gauntlets and helmet. The helmet only has 10 defence lol.

I posted a design doc to the Bungie forum that fixes what I believe to be the problematic bit of the current shader system — that the old shader is deleted when applying a new one — while keeping Bungie's goals of incentivizing shader-hunting intact. It has received a lot of good traction so far. If you're interested in giving a little more permanency to your shader grinding, please have a look through the doc and upvote it if you agree. I just want Bungie to at least read it, yet I fear that it will get buried under less thought-out posts in the coming days that are just full of red mist, bile, and upvoted out of spite. Even if you like the current shader system, an implementation of this proposal would get you a favorite shaders tab on your items for free! That's cool, isn't it?

A Proposed Solution to Consumable Shaders in Destiny 2

Note: This is the second and last time I'm going to post this in this OT. As a long-time lurker, I cannot make threads on Neogaf but want as many people to get eyes on it as possible.

My god the dialogue sucks in this game "that thief looks even thievier than the other thieves!" And the ghost (a cybernetic robot being) keeps referring mechanisms and gadgets as "thingies" like he's talking to a child. Which is the target audience of the writers apparently...

Fuck.

Fuck.

Accept that it's horribly hammy. That's the entire game. It's a step up from Destiny. Which had nothing. But yea, it's not great
