To be honest, I don't really follow all the shit he's done. It's just that I remember a very vocal defense force for that one vid where it seemed every big Youtube personality was coming out in force to stick up for the guy.
When I moved to the states in the mid nineties I shared a house with some frat boys from Rollins college. Casual racism was constant and shocking. Only one of them was a "dedicated" racist and weirdly three of them once jumped into action in Santa Monica when we witnessed a racist attack. One of them had an African American adopted brother who he was SUPER protective of. They all had wonky but functional moral compasses but I got the feeling that about half their fraternity humor would have been based on ferocious unforgivable racism. I doubt one of the three would say a single racist word now but the fact that college is a breeding ground for casual racism is shocking to me.
