Ian Miles Cheong doesn't miss a beat in defending racism!

The lack of self awareness that he doesn't even want to type out "nigger" while defending someone who said it....It's amazing really.

Is n***r that offensive??? I'm from EU and had to watch the video to know what n***r actual means...

I'm not that in into US culture... were does the word really come from? sounds like a variation of negro.

I don't give a fuck about PewDiePie to be true I may have just whatsched it two times and quitted his videos 'cause found them annoying.

*Sees a thread with a heat reply time and massive amount of messages in no time*

is the word really that bad, you guys???

YouTube is getting to the point where I would be disappointed but not surprised to see "Danny Sexbang punches an old lady" "Arin Hanson dropkicks a puppy" or "Markiplier eats a baby in an apparent satanic ritual"

Basically just don't get super attached to these folks because you don't actually know them.

Honestly, this dude has always been a douchebag. I think I remember a time when GAF loved this dude, defended him at every turn.

That was bullshit because this dude has always been an idiot. But weird parts of gamer GAF thought hey a gamer guy succeeded let's defend him even though his ideas were always idiotic, his actions always puerile and misconceived.

"GAF" is not some singular entity. PDP has gotten his fair share of shit since the moment he because famous, by people who found his schtick obnoxious. If your argument is "hey the more he says racist and anti-semetic stuff the less people on GAF like him" then, well, no shit?

I don't care for the guy since I don't even follow his videos or anything. He made an ugly mistake, fact, but I think some people just want to destroy him for whatever mistake he commits.

That was not a mistake. And it wasn't the first time he did this """"mistake"""". He's a racist, he panders to alt right neo-nazis. That's enough case, I would say.

Repeated examples of racist and hateful behaviour is not a 'mistake'.

The only mistake he made was getting caught.

He said it on purpose. He used it for it's intended purpose of insulting someone. He said pretty much the worst thing you can say in the worst way you can say it.

And you want to forgive him for "making a mistake."

SMH.

There's a big difference between saying an offensive word and using said word as an insult.

Even just saying the word is not ok, but can be excusable, but using it as an insult like PDP did is inexcusable.

Ding ding ding. Exactly. Even though I do believe no matter what, it's not ok, some people MAY have an excuse with context, even if it's difficult though.

In that case ? Context's against him. He used a racial slur... As a racial slur.
There's no way to twist it into a "one time thing" "slipped" "just a replacement word for bro".

It's a racial slur. He used it as a racial slur. Plain and simple.

Yeah sure. Total mistake to use a racial slur as a racial slur to insult someone. He didnt just said the word, he said it as an insult, with all the meanings of the word.

but he knows it can be an issue, nobody is arguing that
but it's (probably,as stated on my first post here,i only know the guy by fame of being the guty with the most subscriber on youtube and being hated on gaf, that's all) a way bigger deal for an US citizien than it is for other people in the world (in the main examples in this thread, some countries in europe), so it's possible for a guy that isn't racist to use that world lightly, even if he knows it's wrong.

even risking bringing out godwin's law..think about nazi imagery...in the US you have people parading with swastikas flags, and people debating if that's or not their right to do that...in germany, where nazism is a topic that has even more weight than in the US,doing so would bring your ass straight to jail no questions asked.

it is possible that something that it's universally considered bad or inappropriate,it's considered WAY more inappropriate on certain countries than in others...what I said in my first post,it's just that the weight of the word in the Us culture is immense, way bigger than in any other culture i heard of, so while in the US only someone who is racist to the bone or wants to go for shock value would use the word in public...outside of it it's possible that someone will not use the same care when using it,that's all.

it has nothing to do about "europe does not have racism" or "pewdipie didn't know what the n word means"

Do you you any public person or celebrity that uses that word freely in the western world ? You are going through alot of length to paint this picture of European values being this different when it comes to racists slurs and terms compared to the US.

Again this isnt about what a couple kids tell or joke about in private...but what can and cant be said in public. This would be a scandal or mayor issue in every big EU country. More or way more appropriate doesnt really matter at this point...because its appropriate full stop. NO public person uses the term here and debating about whether its a bit less inappropriate compared to the US misses the point.

Yes, nazism display in the US wont get you jailed like in germany. This doesnt mean that its more accepted in the US or that citizens wont have mayor issues with it

It's not a mistake when he makes Jew jokes all the time, talks about admiring Hitler, says stuff about rape etc etc. it's his personality

Never underestimate the appeal of the 'boy in a man's body', particularly while said person has done some charitable work and appears laid back and generally nice. Then comes the line where they feel comfortable enough with their community to let the mask slip, hoping years of investment towards their friendly persona will excuse them of controversy and repercussion.

Sad thing is, it often works, at least to the bulk of their audience.

Fucking finally, a Youtuber calls Pewdiepie out. The dude's actions led to adpocalyse and now he's doubling down on causing more damage to the Youtube platform for content creators. Good on DanNerdCubed.

PItUGFO.png

I don't fuck with Nerd cubed anymore, his vids got stale and shit, but this is good to see

ALSO NIGGER AND NIGGA ARE DIFFERENT HOLY SHIT WE DON'T GO AROUND SAYING NIGGER IN SONGS

I'm shocked that PDP is the racist douchebag we thought he was.

And for the defenders in here, when you call someone a "nigger" because they did something you didn't like? That's fucking racist. You may not wear a Klan hood, and you may not cheer when black people get shot, but that's fucking racism. You don't get to dip your toes in it and claim you aren't a part of the problem.

I said he comitted an ugly mistake, Im not an apologist. Fucking internet judges that believes never did anything wrong and is pretty fast at judging people!

You literally said it was a "mistake" and the outrage is just manufactured to destroy his career.

How is this not excusing him? You're downplaying what he did and he's doing this for months and years at this point.

Did somebody here really say "Puertoricans from the Bronx get a free pass for saying the N-word"?? I ain't even gonna directly quote that fucking garbage, talking shit about things he doesn't know about. Smh. I swear people are getting fucking dumber the older I get.

It feels hugely telling that the YouTubers calling him out are doing so because they're worried they might make less money now. 🤔

While I can get forgiving someone for a first offense, it's a reoccurring thing for him.
For someone with as much influence, it shouldn't be tolerated

Yeah... the fuck happened? Why are people on the internet that like games so angry?

my guess is that they tend to be social outcasts by introversion or a simple lack of desire to get out there and interact with people. and they find a thing they can disappear into which empowers them. said thing is 'threatened' when some perceived outside force wants inclusion too, leading them to believe that said outside force wants to take their toy away. so they act like shitlords to the women, poc, and/or people of the lgbt community which just wants to have a good time too or would at least like to feel a little bit included since they're more socially outcast than most white guys and from a systemic level.

beyond that, it's probably the internet bringing together a lot of america, which continues to be pretty [fill-in-the-blanks]ophobes on the whole.

i don't care if you want to defend max. But if someone uses a word that is taboo and hurtful, you should not dismiss their usage of it. I don't consider Max a bad person or a racist

If you don't think he's a bad person or a racist then it makes little sense to bring him up in a thread about a bad person being racist. Not much more to say really.

Look, eating a baby isn't that bad. Overpopulation is a huge problem. And besides, it wasn't really "satanic", that's just what easily offended Christians call any ritual involving human sacrifice and pentagrams and goat statues.

And really, who hasn't thought of eating a baby before?

Got some dude on my Twitter timeline saying him using nigger when he is annoyed isn't racist. Then says he and his mates say it now and again when they are pissed of gaming. 🤔

YT's John Cena lol

It's a good comparison.

Cena is the face of the company, there's a reason why he broke the Make-A-Wish record.

Imagine if he had a racist video leaked? Dude would get dropped QUICK.

Pewdiepie tends to be safe because he has connections and all the other huge youtubers vouch for him.
