PewDiePie "What a f***ing n*****." out of frustration when his teammate dies.

So...what's the middle ground here that Boogie is referring to?
the middle ground is that if you are white you are allowed to not give a shit about anything or anyone and face zero repercussions

and so i guess he wants to defend the people exercising their right to not have empathy for anyone because telling them they are being part of the problem gives them feelbads

Y'all being played by Boogie. He's reading the thread and trying to provoke these reactions.

He's just another one of those line straddlers.
Is he racist? Is he sexist? He always seems to defend those that are, so the question doesn't matter.

...he said sorry.

That wasn't sorry.

Crazy shit to wake up to. Had no idea what a POS he is. My 12 year old god-daughter is a big fan. Gonna have to chat to mum and dad. This was on stream rather than one of his YT videos? At least there's a good chance she didn't watch. Genuinely shocked that he's painted himself as family entertainment... with underlying racism. He has millions of impressionable fans. What a fucking world.

I hope this is his career over.

Surely it is.

I can only assume your choice of expletives in spurt of the moment situations are going to come from a pool of words and ideas you're surrounded by. Even if he'll try to claim he normally doesn't say these things (hah), I don't think it's a stretch to imagine he reads/hears these things on a regular enough basis for it to stick. Since he's a Swede living in the UK, his ambient racism is going to differ from hard-"er" N-bombs, so whatever is rubbing off on him, he probably has to be exposing himself to it willingly.

Who are these people in the middle? Holy shit
Perhaps the middle ground that consists of people who love saying offensive things, but don't want to admit they're bigots, or on the wrong side of things? I'm glad this Boogie fellow is looking out for these precious little flowers who are so insecure that they think their words don't mean anything. They are the true victims here that need our support.

So...what's the middle ground here that Boogie is referring to?

One developer filed a DMCA, so now it's become his responsibility to protect all YouTubers' rights to FREE SPEECH

Yes...EVEN PewDiePie's despite him using a racial slur (which he disingenuously unironically presents the tired "He comes from a different culture/context" argument for and never outright condemns -- much akin to his Jon "White Genocide" Jafari trying on a different hat defense)

Look how brave he is! Speaking for the little guys!

Even if you give Pew the benefit of the doubt the last two times, he should know better by now.

I don't know if he's full blown racist, I doubt it, but he might be at this point. When you have a platform as large as his, you have to take it seriously. He's made a business out of this, so you know he does. Every single thing you say can influence or be be heard by millions.

If you can reach this massive an audience, you owe it to them to watch what you say.

I do think the press has it in for him sometimes, but he is a lot of the time his own worst enemy.

So...what's the middle ground here that Boogie is referring to?

That middle ground at home where you use the word when there are no Black people around. That middle ground where you use the word among your white friends because it's a "safe space". That middle ground where the worst thing that can happen to you is, God forbid, being labeled a racist. That middle ground.

For the "but mah free speech!" people:

Using a slur which has been used to abuse vulnerable minorities is not at all equivalent to using a regular slur which is used to abuse pretty much everyone. Fucker/dick/cunt? No problems. ni***r/fa***t/tr***y? You're reminding abuse victims of their abuse, which is itself a form of abuse. Straight white people have never really been abused on a massive scale so there's not really an equivalent word for them. If PewDiePie had said: "you fat piece of shit!" [sorry] then maybe some overweight white people might have a slight idea of how uncomfortable minorities feel when he says n****r, it's odd that Boogie can't grasp the comparison. The words r**ard and (unfortunately now) autistic are something else that a few white people might get. It's not "cool" to use r**tard or autistic as an insult, you're just reminding abuse victims of their abuse and their marginalized status in society.

the middle ground is that if you are white you are allowed to not give a shit about anything or anyone and face zero repercussions

My question was genuine. I don't follow the guy and he seems to tweet a lot, he may have elaborated on that already. If we assume no ill will by Boogie, what is he referring to? Referring to those "caught in the middle" seems too vague for me to make sense of.
Like...what is the defensible middle ground here?

Well words had meaning when he was telling us his story in his "draw my life".

He's a fucking hypocrite.

His point was basically - picking on pewdiepie for this via takedown notices etc is a slippery slope that will strip people like Boogie of their YT cash for expressing "political views"

The only reason the N-word slipped out of someone's mouth is that that someone has been casually using it. F any excuses

But black people say it so why can't we? He's from a different culture so it has a different meaning. Yada yada yada, more bullshit responses.

Edit: /s for those who think this is a serious post.

I know it wasn't. My point is that he thinks issuing a ‘sincere' apology followed by a non-racist insult will make up for the use of the racist insult. It won't.

Wasn't a dig at you, and yeah even his flinch when he realises what he's done is barely perceivable. Purely because he's on stream, meaning we can take as a given that he's comfortable using the word. Sickening.

He lives in fucking Brighton.

Edit: My sarcasm detection crew quit ages ago. I just don't know anymore.

There isn't one. Boogie either keeps saying this nonsense to get attention, or because he wants to play for an alt-right/racist audience (whether for the views or because he truly believes this shit, I got no clue).

Boogie isn't a moderate. Colin isn't a moderate. H3h3 isn't a moderate.

They're all full blown conservatives. Moderate implies calling out both sides, what these guys do is call out the left for the most trivial shit and stay silent whenever it's the right doing something genuinely harmful.

Well words had meaning when he was telling us his story in his "draw my life".

He's a fucking hypocrite.
Well, it has meaning if the words that people use are 'fat' and 'ugly' and things that could hurt you personally but words with hundreds of years of racist use and is still used to suppress and degrade somebody else's race, meh, its fine. Homophobia? Well, shit, I'm not gay. Antisemitism or Islamophobia? Its just a religion dude, I hate Christians too. Trans-phobia? Fucking SJWs, I've never even met a Trans person.

They'll crow about how everyone is so easily offended and upset by words and then the second they're called out or called a name all fucking Hell breaks loose and they cry and complain and tweet up a storm.

Its would be funny if it wasn't so depressing.

don't defend this shit with "He's from a different culture so it has a different meaning. "

I'm not. I'm making fun of those who are doing that in this very thread. It's bullshit responses to try and cover up someone's racism.

Sorry if that wasn't clear in my post. I should add a /s.

He showed no sign of remorse or guilt on the stream.

And I’ve no idea he lived in Brighton. The hell?

Not that i disagree with your premise but religion is a different thing. It's not a race, gender, sexual orientation or anything you are born with and can't choose for yourself. It's an idea/opinion/choice. We should be free to criticize ideas and choices.

There isn't one. Boogie either keeps saying this nonsense to get attention, or because he wants to play for an alt-right/racist audience (whether for the views or because he truly believes this shit, I got no clue).

The easiest way to expose him then is to let him explain in detail, with explicit examples, who he is referring to.

Yep, one of my good friends says "n***er f***ot" when playing games and something bad like he loses and it really makes me uncomfortable. Casual racism and these words are awful.

I cant even

EuWMP8Z.png

Boogie will be glad to know that Malcolm is a fictional character and so isn't in any need of defending.

The only reason the N-word slipped out of someone's mouth is that that someone has been casually using it. F any excuses

This is how i feel. When someone uses that word and then says "This isn't who I am" I always think it's EXACTLY who they are. Words you don't use don't just "slip" out in a moment of passion or frustration. I never get angry and say words that I normally don't use in casual conversation so that line is a bunch of crap.

The last time I heard the N word said in my presence it was from someone in a PSN party I was playing Battlefield 1 with. I IMMEDIATELY called him out and said it was not cool. Don't let that shit slide.

What led to all this "in the middle" bullshit, generally? Why do people have to find the middle in a lot of these issues? Or is it only when they feel they, themselves, would fall on the wrong side if there was a clear Right/Wrong?

...Extremism, the internet brigade doesn't argue the middle. Video game prices go up, the internet brigade doesn't argue the middle. A Middle Eastern/African country gets a World Cup, the internet brigade doesn't argue the middle.

But someone drops a "nigger" in "broad daylight" and there is a middle.

Anyway. If you're caught in the middle...doesn't that mean you're defending the racist? Wouldn't he rather stand aside? Smh.

It's possibly YouTubers realising that their fanbases are full of horrible, disgusting manchildren, but they value their viewer figures over being decent people and think that attempting to create a middle ground where there is none for racist / sexist / other shit heads is the best way to that, completely oblivious to the fact that creating middle ground where none exists just makes it look like you bend over backwards to make excuses for racists and sexists and others.

And so you get people like boogie, TB (though not seen him in this one yet, I'll be impressed if he has the restraint to not wade in as the self appointed arbiter and king of fence sitting on behalf of horrible people) and so on.

That and a misguided sense of community among these YouTubers who for some reason feel as though they must defend one another no matter what, when what they should do is throw the racist fucks under a giant bus and move on with their lives.

Have you tried getting him to stop.

Yes, and I get the stupid Louis CK arguments about how it's just a word and how he's quoting the Derrick comedy sketch from Donald Glover.

I just choose to not be around him as much anymore it's really disappointing

I agree with you but the kinds of people I'm talking about don't have issues with Judaism and Islam because of the minutiae of religious doctrine.

Pew said something offensive live and that's bad. He should be careful. He deserves to be called out. Not defending his stupidity.

So now that's out of the way, why do people have issue about what anyone says or does when nobody hears them?

Have you not said anything offensive while being enraged? I see this very often and i do it myself sometimes. Not with this particular word (i live in Greece so this word doesn't even really exist here). But in Greece one of the most offensive things you can do is say something offensive about the christian religion and it's icons. Even the equivalent of something like "Jesus fucking christ" would get you banned from most Greek forums.

Sometimes, when i'm ALONE and something really infuriating happens and i get enraged, i start spewing obscenities about any religion icon that comes to my head. Because i know it's offensive. Because i know it's wrong. But doing something you know it's wrong or potentially damaging while nobody is there to affect can be cathartic. It's the equivalent of punching a wall or smashing things but with words. You want to cause damage and chaos but not really. It doesn't mean i'm a satanist or that i hate Jesus and i would never say those things near a christian. I'm not saying it's a healthy thing to do either, best thing is to be able to control your nerves but it's not always something you can control.

No. I don't use hateful/derogatory language when I'm by myself and get angry. I curse the same way I do when I'm around friends.

"Jesus fucking Christ" is not on the same level of the N word or faggot no matter how you spin it.

This is a pattern of behaviour from him.

He no longer gets the benefit of the doubt, garbage human confirmed.

Into the scrapheap you go.

Do you live on the planet earth in this dimension?

Then that fucking word exists on every continent. Dont even fucking try and pull the "Only americans are racist" shit, you're not 5 years old, you fucking know better.

Unless you're immune from psychological priming, dehumanizing language like n*gger or f*ggot being apart of your vocabulary (doesn't matter if it's in private) is not a good thing. These words have context that if used, affect the way you perceive and treat others

Are you equating saying "Jesus Fucking Christ" with "nigger"?

Using the word "n****r" is cathartic?
I mean, it may be if you're a racist.
