apart from news about already announced games, I'd like to see other games for Switch, such as:

From Nintendo:
- Pikmin
- Bayonetta 1+2 collection
- Bayonetta 3
- Luigi's mansion 3

From third parties:
- Tales of Vesperia
- Taiko Nintendo edition
- Dragon Ball Fighter Z
- Naruto Boruto Ultimate Ninja
- PES 2018 International edition
- Castlevania R
- Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 collectionù
- Resident Evil Remake 2
- Resident Evil 7 GOTY
- Inazuma Eleven Ares
- Megaton Musashi
- Fate/EXTELLA Link
- Disgaea 6
- Persona 5 Gold

That's a solid list. It would be great if the presentation has this level of announcements.

And all this love from Capcom would grant hundreds of pages of discussion about their support for Switch on the Media Create threads :)

That rumoured list sure takes the wind out of my sails, so anything else should be a step up.

I'm predicting an announcement of Donkey Kong's Double Trouble Pak, a port of DKCR and DKCTP.

Poor DKC3 so forgotten by the Big N that they'd reuse its subtitle for something else within the same series.

Yeah, of all announcements, Pikmin would make the happiest. Animal Crossing would be super huge, but I figure they'd announce that at E3 next year.

Nintendo's randomly announced directs, like, are their main shows for announcements now...???

I know it's not happening. I have no illusions of it happening. And yet, Nintendo can not follow up a Zelda/Mario year with just Yoshi/Kirby. They can't.

For their big games? I think not, no. The only one where they did that was the big direct of desperation back in the Wii U days. They leave their western focused games for E3, and whatever Retro is cooking I doubt it's not going to be western focused.

Agreeing with the latter part of your post though. Either Smash, Metroid or Pokemon has to make it next year.

Stardew Valley release date?
Skyrim release date?
Rocket League details and release date?
Xenoblade 2 release date?

LETS DO THIS!

Can't wait to see what kinds of goodies we might get to see. Hopefully we will get a few nice surprises and that Nintendo isn't going to hold off on some of the bigger announcements for TGS.

At first I laughed. And then I thought. "Why would you do such a thing?" And laughed harder.

Looks like the only things you missed BotW 2 and Final Fantasy 17 because fuck 16.

Given that they only said that Metroid Prime 4 is in development, I doubt that we'll get that in 2018 (even Fire Emblem had a tentative 2018 release date). And given the year gap between Gen 6 & 7 plus the job listings going up last May, I wouldn't be surprised if we got Gen 8 came out in 2019 while Game Freak ended up taking 2018 off to work on the Switch games. That would only leave Smash, which could build off of Smash 4 to make an actual sequel if it's not an enhanced port.

I definitely want both of those, but I doubt we'll hear anything about Pikmin or Animal Crossing - or any new 2018 first-party game for that matter - until a January direct. My guess is they'll do something in January akin to the Switch presentation this year. A blowout on a lot of first party games that are all coming in 2018, with some teasers here and there for beyond.

Definitely think January is when we'll finally start hearing about their online service and what the hell they're doing with Virtual Console too.

Tropical Freeze.
Bayonetta 2.
Luigis Mansion 3 trailer.
Pikmin 4.

Believe.

Don't you dare... I am one "big" Switch announcement away from passing on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X in favor of devoting 90% of my gaming budget to Switch. A port of goddamn Okami HD would put me over the edge man.

I'll just post this as usual and hope against all reason that Retro (or anyone except Dyack really) is working on a new Eternal Darkness.

The perfect game for playing in the park.

Long-shot prediction: Dragon Quest XI 3DS version confirmed for the west for early 2018.

Definitely a longshot, since Squenix made it clear that they didn't want to talk about the localization until the fall. I know that we know that it's hitting the PS4 at least, but even that's technically an unofficial announcement.

Don't forget this was the April Direct and if they follow that format again we're going to get a lot of info.

About 30 games in 35 minutes! Even if you cut some of the smaller stuff out and replace it with bigger stuff it could still be another 30 games in 45 minutes.

Just Netflix/Youtube/Hulu/etc and web browser apps for the Switch would be enough for me. A Plex app would be sublime though.

Man all I want is a Coven and the Labyrinth of Refrain announcement. I mean they announced Disgaea 5C in a Direct right? Anything else would just be gravy.

Although I'd definitely love to see more Bamco titles like LWA, Code Vein, DBFZ, or Gintama.

An Okami HD port would need a Capcom that isn't blind to their audience on Nintendo consoles.

So it ain't happening.

Wishlist:

- Proper apps like Youtube and Netfilx for Switch.
- Bayo 1 + 2 Switch.
- Smash 4 Deluxe.
- Virtual fucking Console for Switch.
- Multiplayer reveal for Odyssey.
- Mario Maker 2.

The only ports still on my wishlist are Persona 5 and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Other than that, I want to see new games! I hope I'll be surprised.

Also I don't want to see any more of Mario Odyssey or Xenoblade 2. I'm already sold on these games, no need to see more.

Noticeable chunks of that direct were also spent on ARMS and Splatoon 2. I don't think Odyssey will get as much focus as either of them here.

TGS is coming soon, I'd expect Tales of Vesperia there if it happens.
