Not really, I genuinely thought the raid would require a 300 power level. This is the first time Bungie has set the entry power/light level so low.

Ok, so if I'm playing casually I can just do quests when I want, like I'm not handicapping myself long term. I don't know if I'll ever raid and don't care about that for the most part.

Definitely. There's a lot of people thinking they have to power level because that's what everyone else seems to be doing when it's not true at all. Go at your own pace, enjoy it. Exotics can be infused to raise their Power later on, so you're not screwing yourself over by doing those quests a bit earlier unless you want to be completing the Raid on Day 1.

Definitely try and pick up Raiding. It was my favourite part of Destiny 1 and was something really special.
 
By the way save all your Next Milestones (Once Refreshed) till next Monday/Reset

Go do activities, Exotic Quests and then take those Powerful Gears from everyone, but push all %

Thank you, was driving myself crazy at work reading stuff trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing and afraid I'd screw up my character long term. Just going to enjoy the ride

**I hope to try raiding I'm just lucky to get more than a few hours in a row to play and worry I won't have enough time to do them but we'll see
 
Merciless is fantastic for public events. Extremely good weapon for triggering heroic events solo... Taking out vents or the ship during cabal events is no problem.

No worries, no need to stress over progression in this. A lot of advice being given out to casual players in this thread that is really only relevant to the hardcore and can actually take away from the enjoyment for people just wanting to go at their own pace.

Raids have checkpoints that last until the weekly reset, so you should be able to find groups that are flexible to split up the run into two or three sessions :)
 
Ok two quick questions.

1) Do we trust Bungie saying that we don't have to have highest light level gear equipped when turning in quests and well at all times?
2) I'm saving all my edz and other world tokens for when i hit 260. What's the level cap for reputation gear?

1) Yes.
2) They have a soft cap of 265. They can drop higher than that once you push closer to and over 270 but they will always be significantly below your current Power level from that point on.
 
So if I set up a new account on my Primary PS4 and buy the game digitally with my main account, everything will work fine, right? I'm tempted to buy this game but if I want to play with GAF I'd like to use a name similar to 'Plum' mainly so people don't get confused, that and I absolutely despise my current PSN name.

I got a exotic arm on my titan at level 4, but now at 12 my blue arm is a higher level should I keep the lvl 4 exotic and infuse it later or delete it?

Keep it and infuse later if you like the perks it gives.

Exotics can be bought back from the Vault Collection using Legendary Shards, too.

Ah, that's good. Now I just need to decide whether to get it or not. I've been wanting a good mindless shooter to get into after growing tired of constant Attrition battles in Titanfall 2, this seems like it might fit the bill quite well.

Thanks guys. But the first one is suspect. I just got two blue drops at 227 even though my light level should be at 228 with my exotic 238 boots i can't equip.

Does the purple armor I can buy on each planet stay at lvl 185 or so which is what it's at now or can that get better as well?

You shouldn't really need to buy any armour from vendors at any point, and it will never be as good as what can drop.

If you can't equip them because you have another exotic armor piece equipped, that seems right. It's looking for your best possible loadout, not your best loadout if you ignored the exotic rules.
 
Got one character at 288, another at 284, and trying to get my last one to 20 and grab some powerful rewards before the first reset. Hoping I can get everybody above 290 before raid.

Then I'll be able to make obscene demands on LFG.
 
Uh, I may have disassembled the MIDA mini tool :( I know about the no space bug but I'm pretty sure I actually disassembled it yesterday. Is there a way to fix the quest chain?
