There are two things to consider with maintenance, first of all, it is daytime somewhere and then, more importantly having it now, at the start of the day in America allows Bungie to have the most staff on site in case of any issues.

IMO, Sidearms, submachine guns and shotguns are awful in PvE.

Sidearms are just a weaker shittier version of the regular auto/burst/scout rifles. The only advantage is a fast switch speed, but that's only really useful in PvP.
SMGs are a shit version of an autorifle with insanely bad recoil. I don't even know what the point of them is. They need to do a lot more damage to make up for the lack of precision bonus damage (not to mention completely missed shots).
Shotguns are just a shit sword.

Are drops based on your current equipment or your total loadout? I know engrams use your best theoretical loadout (even including the vault and alts) but I'm not sure about chests and mob-drops.
I'd like to leave my SMGs in the backpack if possible.
I wish I'd kept my damaged city armour so I could do a quick test.

I didn't get mine until I'd completed the story, long after hitting level 20.

They're options from the local rep vendor, just don't click on the bounty like icons if you speak to them. At this point I've literally no idea why they exist (they should have heroic modifiers).

I treat SMG's like a shotgun in PvE, they're great for wrecking shields at close range. Can't imagine using one as a kinetic weapon though.

Barely a week in and I can't play during the prime 4-hour block of my day off. Ugh.

They need to implement a bunch of stuff like the Guided Nightfall beta. Also make sure everything is ready for the raid tomorrow.

Its always the middle of the night somewhere. Though I agree that it's dumb. It's mid afternoon in Europe, so people are coming home from work soon.

ah ok. i had no idea they were the same adventures so i took them lol. you learn something new everyday :D
 
While I agree about the Sidearms, I think SMGs are alright, you can burn some enemies down really fast with them, faster than with an Auto Rifle in my experience but you do have to be close.
 
Anyone know where I can buy a decent Ghost replica? Like something to put on my desk. I know there's a few 3D printed ones on Etsy but I wanna know if there's an alternative.
 
Am i missing something or can i not see my gear when logging in to Bungie.net.

I can't seem to find anything relating to my characters, progress etc.

It's a random drop from purple engrams, I believe. I've gotten several.
 
I just finished the story right as the maintenance started. Now the real Destiny will begin.

So I pretty much have to farm until 270+ before claiming the final mission reward?

Definitely. As I said (edited my post up there) they're basically shotguns up close and are amazing at taking out shielded captains.
 
I feel like I'd be 180 now if I was luckier with where my legendary mods landed. As it stands I only seem to get them in elements, chest pieces, and energy weapons.
 
Bah, destiny literally kicked me out of the game during the end fmv scene after beating the story. I read they were going to give you an hour to finish what you were doing. oh well. glad I have youtube.

Yeah same here, i scored an exotic chest piece this morning but have to take my dunemarchers off to use it meaning I'm stuck with 265 boots, instead of 265 chest.

Added a mod to make my gloves 270 but between them, my 265 boots, and my shitty 265 titan mark I'm held back.
 
Yall seriously need to chill lmao. For an always online game they need to do maintenance when most of their staff is there. Not to mention it works perfectly since afternoon is when they have the most people, since plenty of fans have you know, work in the US in the morning.
 
so what do i do with glimmer now? i've reached the limit. well i'm not sure if it's capped but it says 99999+ so i guess i'm still getting glimmer but it's just not showing it.

i only used glimmer early on to buy gear from vendors to level up quicker. the game is completely showering me in it unlike the first game. i don't know what to do with legendary shards or bright dust either.
 
C'mon, the clan was already to almost 80k out of 125k for the next level. I wanted those sweet rewards when I log in tonight, lol.

i just wish i got a bit more notice. the warning came up then i got booted 2 seconds later. as soon as i saw it i was gonna go wrap things up. 5 minutes would've done it.
