Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Huh, well I guess I'm wrong. I'll still say I don't notice a difference at all, and I've played close to 40 hours(I think? Maybe not, but close) all on my Titan

So pre weekly reset the thought is every 5 levels it goes up. After the weekly reset I guess we will have a better idea. Hell they could even reset that during the weekly reset. As some have said they have seen the increase, no one knows what the cap is, and no one knows what happens with the weekly reset. However it appears to at least ramp up so folks grinding see the bright engrams less and less.

Sitting here WHF, listening to the D2 soundtrack, and being amused by this thread.

IO music is GOAT Destiny OST BTW, damn good stuff, especially Ikoras theme.

Anyway, Carry on DGAF.

Another extension in bound?

Bungie just tweeted:

"Still conducting planned maintenance and addressing some new issues. Please stand by. Pardon our dust."

Each "hidden" level past 20 takes increasing XP to earn, and you only get "free" bright engrams for each new level. So for a few weeks you may get a few bright engrams a week, if the XP max isn't capped at some point it'll take like a month to earn the next "free" bright engram.

Seems like a consistent rate to me at this point. You get the 3x XP boost at the start of every week to compensate for there being no boxes tied to specific events and then it feels like grinding the levels in D1 for motes to me.

I'd like to know where this "It takes more XP each time" info is coming from though.

Woof, my body gave out last night

After playing 15-20+ hours everyday, it finally caught up

Went to sleep @5AM reset, just woke up now!

All that missed sleep lol, good thing maintenance extended

I'll come back online for another week just like the game

I saw you randomly in the tower a day or two ago. You just randomly ran and jumped to your death.

When D2 isn't working

Sorry if it's been answered. But is there a detailed explanation as to how level scaling works? Have a couple questions...

  1. Will my fireteam and I have an easier time doing Nightfall if we're 280 or will it scale us to the recommended 240? I'm hearing some conflicting answers.

  2. What if two fireteam members are say 245, but one is 300. Does the 300 member do significantly more damage and can take more hits than the 245's?

Greatly appreciated.

Is it weird that I saw getting bright engrams at every level up as getting free Eververse content? You had no way of getting any of that for free in the first game. To me it seems like a good thing. I never thought I'd get fancy dances, ornaments, ships and sparrows for free.

Yup, way better than old system of shitty Motes

The original poster on reddit claims it doesn't reset weekly. I guess we will see after the servers come back up.

Bright Engrams are Silver boxes, which were weekly rewards from multiple activities.

Yeah, Motes of Light don't really have a purpose in the game anymore considering gear/weapons come with all their perks unlocked already so ina way the change has offered players a chance to get stuff that you would normally have to pay real money for. Whether that should exist at all is for another discussion and one I want no part of.

Which was limited to three per week per account, right? Or was it per character? I think it was the former.

Limited to three per account per week in D1. Now the sky is the limit, across all characters. D2 I already got 500 free dust just from RNGesus.

It is funny people freaked on the MTs, when in reality this system is much better than the one in D1.

All MTs suck, but these aren't as bad.

You could drop half of those things from a random chest, activity, weekly bounties etc or just buy with glimmer. Other half you could get from Sterling Treasures, 3 times a week. This Bright Engram system is a serious step back.

You get 3 free Eververse drops each week in Destiny 1 since the last update, and got them before that as Radiant and Sterling Treasures.

It even drops the paid-only items (Fire Wolf mask, Blue Skull mask, etc)

1) I'd imagine so. You will be able to take more hits and deal more damage. My team was able to do it at 266, 266, 278. The night fall doesn't scale. It stays at that level. So the higher you are the 'easier' it is.

2) Don't know about how much damage, but they will be more likely to survive compared to a 245 person.

Awesome, thanks.

Just got off night shift this morning so I took a nap to pass time while servers are down. Slept longer than usual and servers are still down? What did I do with myself before this game? I'm staring at the walls.

I was off today...glad I got to spend it playing D2 haha. Bummer that this maintenance is taking forever. Gonna get slammed by the east coast if it comes back up around 5-6pm.

It will not scale down. The mobs are 240 but you do more damage to them the higher light you are, and take less damage from them. So you get through faster with a less chance of dying. Its doable with everyone at 240 but you will probably be very frustrated, with everyone at 260 or higher its a lot easier.

Yes to your second point, but again its unlikely your 300 is going to be able to solo carry two other people who mostly just die a lot. The boss for example is shooting everyone and summoning adds constantly. Again, it is doable and some people have done it but its just far easier to spend 2-3 hours farming public events, raise the 245 light levels to 260, and then everyone can go in together and have a good time.

There's no reason either for a higher friend to "pass" on farming public events, since they can drop exotic engrams.

Regarding the Patch size:

Since the non-stop crashing I have to get my old launch ps4. The patch here: 4,xxx gb
Thought ok, let's see how big the patch is on the PS4 Pro and hopefully the same size (maybe they finally know how to patch the ce-error)... only 50mb?

So it's just random, who gets which size of the patch? (both console share the same account) And to be honest, it's quite big for just "guided games beta".

1. There is no scaling so to speak. The people with higher PL will do more damage and take less then lower PL ones.

2.Yes, the 300 will do exactly that. The 245s might have a rough time to be honest.

Ha, that's funny.

I'm wondering how much time I actually have to play if servers go back up. It's 9:30 PM here in the UK.

I swear OT2 before maintenance is up.

JohnOfMars you best be ready!

JohnOfMars is gone. After the maintenance went down, his light faded and his eyes raised up for the last time towards another light.

Hawkian was last seen jumping from the cliffs of exodus black. We don't know if he can fly or not.

Lik was last seen ramming a sparrow over and into the cabal drills.

Pandora012, respectfully, ate ramen, then dunked in the bowl not to come up again.

Commish says he is okay, but last seen with a camelback full of tequila sauntering off towards the farm and eyeing the chickens.

Grave is terrorizing kids in the tower holding a shell of a G-horn over his head.

Its all over. We have come apart.

Wait, so those legendary mods get transferred when they're infuses into something else? I'm still a little confused.

No. If you're infusing something INTO a piece of gear with the +5 mod, it will be whatever the base for infusion was +5. Mods DO NOT transfer into the infusion. Think of the mod as a bonus, so anything you infuse to something with that +5 mod will be whatever, say 265, +5, so it would spit out at 270.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Hmmm

Wait so infusing an exotic gives you a higher LL than the item you used to infuse with?

All exotics come with +5 LL legendary mods.

Careful when infusing the other way, or using a modded weapon to infuse, because it only takes the base level.

Wait, so those legendary mods get transferred when they're infuses into something else? I'm still a little confused.

Nope.

Infusion or swapping a mod, they're lost to the void.
