Dragon Ball FighterZ - Characters, Specials, and Stages Discussion

Thanks my guys! Can't wait to stroll around the online lobby with a cute Hit avatar. 😭

I can't wait to do the same as Janemba :P

Gotenks HAS to be in, the one I'm worried about is Vegito since we already have 2 Goku and Vegeta variations for each, but Vegito has some unique stuff so hopefully he's in too. Vegito Blue would be a dream come true.

I agree that Gotenks is a lock, and his intro will absolutely be a fusion.

Not sure about Android 21 though. Why introduce her now if she's limited to story mode? I'd think that would be a reveal closer to launch or when the other story mode portions were revealed.

Only way I see her not being playable is if she doesn't fight at all in story mode (meaning they only did her model), or Bulma makes it in and their fighting styles would be too similar (with mech/gadgets).

Why does the OP still say "Kamehameha Wave"? The last "Ha" already means "wave", Kamehame is gibberish (as the way it's written on the manga notes) so the move translates to "Kamehame Wave".

Vegeta/Frieza/Cell was fucking great.

Gohan is pretty dope too.

Didn't enjoy 16 as much as I thought I would. Since he's a grappler his moves were hard to use since the game is so fast paced and projectile heavy. Didn't spend a ton of time with him though.

Majin Buu is alright, but Cell is the strongest character in the game so far in my opinion.

Piccolo was a little difficult to use for me using his specials as well.

18 seems alright too, didn't spend enough time with her.

The netcode is pretty damn good too from what I experienced this weekend.

So question...are most going with the assumption that this is the 1st of a series of Shonen Jump fighters from ASW and that the endgame is a Battle Royal Shonen VS game? Considering they did something similar with Their 3DS DBZ & One Piece fighters, which sprites I believe were derived from 3D models that are/were likely the ground work for this. If they pushed out a One Piece fighter in 2019, then a Naurto in 2020, then cross them over and sprinkle in a few characters from Bleach, Jojo, etc.

Their One Piece game bombed though. I think they'll just stay with DB this time for any sequels (or jump straight to an All Jump game if they want to go in that direction).

I love how even basic interactions just feel so at home to the source material

Like did anything crazy happen here? No. But it sure felt fucking cool to do.

I just love the little things in this game. Freeza falling out of Golden and being able to summon Sorbet to cover him is something I never got tired of doing today. Even caught someone off-guard with it and won. His wakeup attack is also great.

This game is awesome. I want to play Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Yamcha now.

You know people will be losing their minds if this happened during a tournament (although I don't know how feasable it would be to do this since we saw that if you're reckless, your two supports can get KOed and leave you to fend for yourself.)
Deeefinitely won't ever happen in a tournament haha.

I had the chance to play during the final session and holy shit, it's wonderful in every way, even the netcode (on PlayStation 4 at least) was great for a beta! The game is pretty simple after two or three battles but it's super fun with people knowing how to play a minimum, can't wait to play it again!

I think this game has a lot more depth than people are giving it credit for. Once people can lab this up I think we'll see a lot more deflects, much better assist usage, snapbacks, etc.

It's also 5 months away, its not like it comes out next week and is feature or mechanically complete.

There's definitely a bunch of stuff we haven't found out too, especially in regards to Sparking. Doesn't seem like a lot of people know you can air dash cancel any aerials (including overheads since they leave you airborne here) during it, which opens up a lot of possibilities.

I wiiiish there was a training mode. I wanna see what kinda insane pressure Frieza has with added double air dash during Golden and the dash cancels in Sparking.

Depth is definitely there ppl just have to innovate instead of using brain dead auto combos all the damn time and assume that's all the game has to offer.

I wonder how different the TGS build will be compared to the beta build.
