Alot of the colors look really lazy and uninspired IMO.
Eh, for COLORS? I think they look pretty good. Already more exciting than SFV's default colors, which initially were basically the same palettes shared over characters. It's taken us to 10+ to start getting solid references, tanned skin, changed hair colors, and easy texture trick stuff (like making stockings out of bare legs, or placing skintight skirts over once bare chest.)
Here we already have ones that change skin colors, make different color quadrants look as if they form different "pieces", and almost every color is a reference to something the character has been involved with. And the fact that earning colors once also unlocks them for alt outfits, is also very good. I DO wish we had more fancy texture / model trickery, but that'd be way beyond expectations for this team or artist.
It'll be nice to eventually, hopefully have more colors. And hopefully they're freebie updates. But I'm so glad the colors aren't just (Capcom Yellow and blue) (requisite white) (requisite black and red) (single reference color) all with default skin and accessory colors, like I'd have initially expected from their amount of effort.
Looks like my GameXplain and Twitter content has eventually been making it into the thread anyway courtesy of Neoxon, but I'll get out in front of things this time and post this screenshot I just took right in the thread. On the left is X's color 4 and Zero's color 3, and on the right we have Command Mission X's color 4 and Zero's color 4!
Thanks for these, and the video! If you can, it'd also be good to see the Megaman colors in their LvL 1 Hyper Armor Super, and with his LvL 3 armor? They SHOULD be different than the default megaman's looks, so it should be worth it.
