Even if it is a lone wolf effort (the Manchester attack was probably assisted by the guy's brother) then there is a high chance of failure due to the explosives failing, or going off while the bomb is being made. A lot of things have to go "right" for a terrorist to pull off a bomb attack, not so much with just picking an automatic rifle up off a shelf.

I completely agree with what you're saying. As I said, that's why I doubt the guy in Vegas would have gone ahead if he didn't have access to firearms. It was more people slinging numbers about on how things go here in the UK when it's not really the full story.

The issue with America when it comes to guns is one of willing. Every time the discussion comes up, I see so much "But America is different" and other suggestions. No-one in a position to resolve it is even trying to fix it. The willing isn't there.
