Yep, this is the reality of it. When your politicians, and average American public, aren’t sympathetic to 6-8 year-olds being massacred, and demanding reform, then there is literally nothing that will ever make them.

It's infuriating. Watch the NRA come out again and shamelessly argue that the "solution" here is more guns.

One guy spoke on TV saying the guy went through like 15 magazines, so the number could easily be higher. Not surprised hearing the 50+ figure now.

Would be anywhere from 450-900 rounds fired or so depending on mag size if that number is close to being real.

"lone wolf"?

I like how they're avoiding the term "terrorist attack"

Semantics, how does it work.
Every act of violence can be considered an act of terror. But when we talk about 'terrorism' we mean organized groups, like ISIS or Al Qaeda.

This shocked me at how far away the hotel looks from the concert. But I guess just shooting in that vacinity you're going to hit people regardless, and the surrounding area must have been packed. Shocking stuff though, what a cowardly way to do it too, from the comfort of your fucking hotel room.
It doesn’t look as far away from the point of view of the actual hotel, where this picture was taken.

It will be a difficult case for them to make
The place could have had 1000 heros with guns and they would have slaughtered each other and everyone else but not the shooter on the balcony.

Yeah you're probably right. It's just mad how much damage has been done from that distance. Makes you wonder how easy this sort of thing can happen somewhere else like. So sad :(

A crowd that large trying to disperse all at once would have been pandemonium. It's just not possible for that many people to exit the area quickly. Most of the deaths and casualties probably happened within the first few clips being fired. As there would be music playing as well and other background noise, it probably took x amount of seconds before the wider crowd had some sort of idea what was going on.

Once everyone started dispersing hitting people from that sort of range would have been harder, but as I said most of the fatalities and casualties probably happened very early on and before the crowd could really break up.

Tragic.

It was too late about 10 years ago

Fun fact, in the early 70's a majority of American's supported surprisingly harsh gun control laws. Then the NRA mobilized and basically turned public perception around by supporting "scholars" publishing papers saying the second amendment guaranteed unfettered access to firearms--the public perception was much different back then--and investing heavily in political races and supporting candidates that were insanely pro-guns.

We easily could have had sensible Gun Control by the 90's, but the NRA mucked it up.

Anyone saying that gun laws in the USA isn't the problem and it's more complex than that is completely insane and in denial at this point. I live in Brazil. We have a criminality problem. A pretty huge one. But mass shootings? No, THAT we don't have. You people need way stricter gun laws and disarm your population. What is happening in the US and keeps happening every other month is simply insanity.

As always its still speculation, but the guy clearly had a lot of ammo to do 50+. It'll probably be another 24 hours before an almost clear picture emerges of what happens.

Ughhh! what horrible, horrific news to wake up to in the East Coast...Why do we live in such a fucked up planet? Let's figure things out people and prevent such atrocities from happening again!

So 1 person, killed at least 50 and injured 200+. With the possibility of going higher.

I honestly don't know what to say anymore to everyone there in america

That was because the Black Panthers we're probably gun back then.

I read 3 and now it's up to 50 dead and worst ever in US history. Terrible, totally awful.

EDIT: I'm not American but yeah, after Sandy Hook I don't believe anything will change. And that was with Obama as President. With Trump there's even less chance.

They better get this fucker......

After seeing one of the videos I knew there was no way only 50 people died.....

But the country will go to sleep, wake up and nothing will change.

This is a more than acceptable sacrifice for Merica.

Could you imagine if every person -- many intoxicated -- in that crowd were armed and blindly fired back at the shooter? Just unloading round after round into the occupied building the shooter was firing from?...
