I heard someone say that they was someone in the crowd an hour before saying you all are about to die. Sounds like a typical bullshit rumor. Any truth to it?

There was a lady on tv that said someone near her told everyone they were gonna die. Everyone just thought she was nuts and security escorted her out of there. It could of been a coincidence, but I was believing the lady on t.v. She became really upset talking about it.

How many days? I read he checked in on the 28th Sep.

Is it a response to losing before or is just blowing his money before his planned attack. He wouldn't be carry all those guns normally and even in America I doubt this guy could amass all this that quickly. Sounds like he had this plan weeks or months weeks ahead.

Apparently it was daily during his short stay there.

Is there some science behind bringing up the heroism of the first responders and people in the crowd, as well as patting all the public officials on the back for making sure they put out a message and help when asked? Is it shown to keep people calm or something? I've never lost a family member or friend to this sort of thing, but watching that Las Vegas police conference and seeing the officials give shoutouts to each other and making sure all their names are brought up to prove they did something would make me much more angry. "Here are all your politicians that did such a wonderful job doing their job and making a prepared statement", but what about gun violence "please don't politicize this sir".

This struck me as very odd as well. I think "First Responders" covers a lot of voters, so the politicians pander to it. I'm not saying the first responders don't do a good job and deserve praise. It is odd to see them praised so consistently and so early on in any issue.

People always try to latch onto hero stories with tragedies like this. It's human nature to try and balance out the tragedy I guess.

Shit is crazy. Maybe she was crazy and it was just a crazy coincidence

Jesus. I somehow am just now hearing about this at 11 am pst. RIP to all the victims and fuck this piece of shit for doing this. Just horrible.

Sad but true. Guns are more important than human lives here.

We should put out a tier of what's most important here.

Companies and their profits>Stocks>Military>Christian God>THE RIGHT TO LIFE (fetuses)>Guns>Homes>Normal humanity

Did I miss anything? I think I got the ranking down correctly...

Add minorities at the bottom

If you're going there with a plan to die, blowing all your money on a massive hotel suite is probably not going to be much of a concern for you.
Maybe he didn't blow it. His brother described him as wealthy, and he seemed to be into traveling and gambling, who moved near Vegas specifically for the gambling.

The only one I can think of was the University of Texas shooting back in the 60's. A bunch of citizens with guns shot back at the shooter in the tower while the police stormed it. Mind you, I don't think they were specifically asked to do so; so even that doesn't really set a precedent. The whole concept of trying to "help" the situation by grabbing a gun and coming back into a dangerous situation, essentially making yourself another target and putting even more people in danger, is just baffling to me. Let the police do their job.
Oh ya, I remember seeing a documentary on that. Different era and location though. I think the documentary I saw said one civilian stormed the tower with the police and used civilian rifles. I doubt that would happen now, except maybe in very rural areas with few police.

Nope he had a corner suite, those rooms are huge

LOL. Just had to explain this to my mom who doesn't travel much. She is so use to dinky hotel rooms, she could not figure out how he got from room to room to break the windows. Had to explain the idea of connected rooms and suites to her.

I think it's just some bitter old dude deciding to kill himself and take as many as he can with him. Don't see why there has to be some political motive behind it. Some people are fucked up and if he was going to kill himself anyway then he had nothing to lose.

I wouldn't be surprised, it's reported that his dad was a major US criminal who robbed banks, had guns and was diagnosed to be suicidal and a psychopath... It could be that this guy had bottled down genetically passed on psychopathic mental behavior that never even came to surface in front of his relatives... just lost all his money, had trouble with his gf, just reached his end point... hated the world snapped, and had access to some heavy fucking artillery... I assume something like this can be planned within 24 hours , maybe not any shorter time...

It is possible he lost the first night or two, and went out got the guns the last day (Sunday)
It's possible, but an attack like this isn't something you just decide to do without serious consideration.
Maybe, Maybe not... If you have access to a room like that for multiple days and you literally have mental breakdown and become deranged due to who knows what...., anything can happen... I am curious to hear some words from his gf, as she seems to be the only one closest to him as of recent times.

I wish we could draw a line right down the middle of the country and have all the gun nuts, racist & xenophobic Trump-types on one side, and everyone else who embraces diversity (even if it's challenging) and peaceful coexistence on the other.

Just let the fear-driven and hateful rip each other to shreds and leave everyone else in peace.

Of course there'd have to be a magical barrier in place to keep out the crazies, but hey, a man can dream.

Good lord. Just a good ole' boy who's luck ran out, that's when he decided to commit one of the worst acts of domestic terrorism in modern US history...

For the most part I'm all for WasPo, but shit like this is fucking infuriating. The world could really really do without the humanizing misfit backstory for every white-ass gun slinger that pops up every few months/weeks.

I'm down for this, the less I have to hear from people like that, the better my life will be.

We could even convince them that a wall will prevent people won't don't share their views out.

So everyone who owns guns is racist and xenophobic? Killer Mike is one of the biggest gun nuts out there, is he not allowed into Utopia?

How? Why? This is beyond bizarre.

Apparently he was shooting at people 12 football fields away? 1000+ yards.

I practice shooting a few times a month, and have been a shooter since I was very little. Only Prone, or on a bench, can I hit a target 700 yards away. And that is with a high mag scope firing very slowly. At that distance rapid fire shots would spray everywhere, there would be people hit or dead that were not anywhere near the concert. This keeps getting stranger.

I could wrap my head around it if this guy was a seal sniper maybe. Even then its insanity.

That's gross.
Seen a few places state he was a regular on the strip and people knew him as a rich asshole.
