Destiny 2 |OT2| Leviathan Wakes (Spoiler Tag ALL Raid Discussion)

So it looks like a decent chunk of my raid/fireteam group are legit considering jumping ship and playing Fortnite for the foreseeable future while we made it ALL THE FUCKIN way to Calus and have yet to beat him.

I don't understand these guardians... how you could do all that shit and then change scenery riiiiiiight at the end.

Well i'm OCD and this shit is bugging me so hard I can barely think at work. Any GAF groups run raids a little later in the evening? I probably won't be started till sometime around 9 or 10 PST. but i'm fuuuuckin ready to rock. PL 303. I will gladly float in Calus' chamber and help kill ads and DPS calus and then otherwise stay out of the way!!

Thanks ahead of time, True Players. I believe in you

Just finished the raid and lost all three keys after.
Anyone else have this?

Did you switch characters after beating it?

I stayed up til 4 in the morning last night trying to beat Calus and it never happened. It was pretty discouraging, but I’m fucking ready this week; I know that fight like the back of my hand now.

What are the best strats for the prestige nightfall this week? We always get to the boss room with like 2 minutes left.

always fun to see the clan XP maxed for the week and the clan sitting there at lvl.5 before I even get a chance to help :/

I joined a smaller clan with friends after leaving my almost full one. On my previous clan, A lot of the members were in Australia or Europe and by the time I come back from work at my PST time, Trials, Nightfall, Crucible, and XP were all cleared already. Heck one week even the raid was cleared. It kinda defeated the purpose of a clan for me, I gave it 3 weeks then left.

Io guy is selling 305 fusion riffle (if you’re 305) right now. Just bought five in case for whatever but useful to put all your characters merciless to 305 if not done yet

So, I'm 305 and looking for that vendor that gives 300 engrams and who changes every half an hour.
According to this site:

Its Io's Asher Mir, but when I go to him he's only offering 297.

Am I missing something?

It was the fusion at 300

...then why didn't you go New Monarchy? If you really like the DO color schemes, you can get the superior Monochrome from Tess this week anyways.

Didn't know Tess was going to sell them and got a ton of them for probably less grinding than buying them from Tess,

if I had known Tess would be selling this shader maybe my choice would have been different.

can't be angry at us for not being able to see the future. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's just absurd that we're not even a month in and you can basically already have everything. I mean we barely have cycled the Nightfalls. It was such an incredibly bad idea to remove random perks from gear/weapons. It has murdered this game's longevity.

The gameplay is fun but there just isn't much pay-off for anything anymore.

I'm left wondering if I should bother with running the Nightfall on my Titan and Warlock and at this early stage in the game that is just plain sad.

I expected better.... clairvoyance is a skill we expect of most members here on GAF, judging by most prediction threads.

I had a character on each faction so I don't really care. I would have preferred FWC win as their weapon looked the best, but I get to pick up the winning weapon regardless. New Monarchy did have the sweetest shaders, though.

What weapons did you use?

I personally used sweet business w/actium war rig and I had curtain call w/ rally barricade. I think most of had cluster bomb rocket launchers and a couple with merciless.

We sent 4 into the shadow realm as 2 of us are very comfortable with the throne room (to the point where I kinda wanna try solo throne room just to see what it is like) got 107 stacks and popped rally barricade with empowering rift on one of the close plates. He was essentially already dead by the 3rd plate.

playing devil's advocate here, there are a lot of people who are glad that the weapon rolling stuff is gone, because they were sick of the grind.

all of the D2 streamers have already said that this isn't a catch-all game to get into, and those who have already capped out on gear/end game stuff should just find other things to play except for reset day/Weekends. It pretty much mirrors my current thoughts on it as well.

It's best this way, it took me a month to get Uriel's Gift, if it had shitty rolls I'd be devastated, there are good ways to increase the game's longevity, random rolls isn't one of them.

And now that I'm 304, I can play other games throughout the week while Destiny takes the Tuesday/Wednesday spot.

Are you doing activities in-between each Treasure Chest? It seemed to help in getting better drops.

Yep. I did two of them this morning a good 15 minutes apart. The first one literally dropped nothing and the second two blues. Same with last week, I made sure to space them all out and I don't think I even got a legendary. My first week playing, my first chest gave me an exotic and I've never gotten anything else worthwhile since.

I don't really care about streamers but rather my experience and it has been quite "thin" to be honest. I feel like I've had every weapon there is to get in the game 20 times each and armor too. My concerns have become reality in that without a huge amount of variety and quantity, removing random perks were going to be devastating to the game's longevity.

The more you think about it the less things add up.

I don't like the idea of Destiny being simply a reset day game as that, well, sucks.

Absolutely! I think we've got a good team going. I'm down to try to speedrun the raid now whenever this week haha. I got sick at work last night and had to come home. I think Callus took it out of me lol.

I meant to ask you last night on mic but do you ever play trials also?

I slept good once I got home. They should advertise the raid as a cure for insomnia.

I'm down if my girlfriend will let me! I do some PvP. I think a Trials run could be in order. I need to get there for my Platinum trophy!

You have completed the entire exotic collection?

Even if so...How many hours do you have total?

We have gone round and round on this and will probably go round and round again, but it seems Bungie took aim at the top of the bell curve of average players (and that average playtime) to give the best experience possible to them. That means...shower loot, and don't give god rolls where the hardcore grind and grind till they get them and then curb stomp everyone else.

The vast majority of players leave with a smile. And will come on back for the DLC.
