Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition: Free update arcade mode & more; $40 game+DLC bundle

Yeah I really don't mind spending a bit more either, I've played the game a lot since release so I too feel it's been good value. The impression Capcom PR gave at release though was that if you buy early you won't lose out later, but newcomers to AE will get a better deal than early adopters did. I'm not that bothered really but... yeah.

I know you can earn the FM for characters fairly easily in-game, but I only really like to play SFV against other people (mostly locally), grinding the FM just isn't fun. It would be nice if there were higher FM rewards for playing matches online.

You played a game for (presumably) two years. That was your deal. Of course anyone who buys it later will get a better deal, just like a sale or a GOTY edition.

The fact that I, that have bought this at launch, still can play online with whoever else, and buy the characters I want (with Fight money or real money) is really nice.

And we're not losing absolutely anything.

Is there some kinda cheaper upgrade option if you already own the sfv?

The S1 and S2 passes will most likely go on sale either near the end of this year or in January. They'll also have a price drop when the S3 pass becomes available, since that's literally what happened with the S1 pass when S2 became available.

Nice avvie change!
Thanks!

News of this update finally being concrete with juicy pictures got me all hyped to play again. Went back to mkx recently, now it's time to put in work with my Dictator again. I want Platinum.

At this point, I'm just assuming canonically Ken took one too many Shoryukens to the face.

Sounds like a member of NeoGAF.
They need to be put on a list.
I'll speak however I darn well please!!
Sakura and Sagat are the only two that have been leaked for Season 3.

I'll take it...Zeku and Birdie are good enough with those two confirmed. I miss Sagat and Sakura since they've always been my go to if I got frustrated by playing endless Shotos. For some reason I always get hate mail with those two but not as much with Chun.

Context matters. In the "example" you've provided, that wouldn't be defending Capcom's "honor" so much as laughing at how bad MVCI's animations are and what a huge stepdown they are from SFV. Same with soundtrack, art style, etc. It's still shitting on Capcom because they dropped the ball with MVCI. You seem pretty focused on this instead of the actual topic though. Contributes nothing to the thread
Just having a totally casual conversation but okay. 🤔

YOOOO! Nadeshiko can hit you with a chair now?!

I find this to be the most interesting picture out of all the gameplay images, or new AE images in general. Mika in that image is using her 2nd V Trigger, except that she hasn't activated it yet. So whatever we're seeing on there isn't her new V Trigger. It's either a new special move or a new V-Skill.

My guess is that it's Mika's new V Skill and that everybody will get a new one. I think it could have very easily have been a new special move but it just sounds better to call it a new V Skill because it helps promote the SFV mechanic.

As some have speculated, it could be using V-Trigger but it's in practice mode set to auto-recover. Guessing by the infinite time and both players having full bars.

I'm so happy, but there is one small thing worrying me about Arcade mode.

It better be 2 out of 3 rounds and not this 1 round type deal.

Yeah maybe new V-skills are tied to the new V-Triggers. So it could provide some interesting balance stuff. Lose Aegis Reflector on Urien for a weaker V-Trigger but get a useful V-Skill to go with his VT2 for example.

Where'd you guys hear this?

Flowtron, some random person on EventHubs, said so. He also confirmed that C.Viper ISN'T one of the characters in S3.

The reason he's credible is because he posted the entire S2 roster way back in 2016, when he had no shitting idea who these characters were besides Kolin and Akuma.

ok thanks. That's really cool I'm glad Sagat is back

I.....like this idea. A sick ass V-Skill that let's me win a match where I'm not confident on landing an AR (especially if V-reversals end up getting buffed) would be massive.

Finally! January release is later than I would've liked, but then again, it's only three months away (my brain still seems to think it's July for some reason).

Nice price, too, given all character DLC is included in the game.

I wonder how much fight money you'll get by clearing each arcade mode with a character. 10k for each route making it a total of 60k per character? But that seems a lot.

16 x 60k = 960k

960k just from the base roster seems waaay too much. That's 9 more characters just from playing Arcade Mode.
Some people really would be happy if SFV suddenly became garbage, huh.
Considering that I'm literally playing the game right now (Trials with Juri), no I wouldn't.

I just like calling out Capcom apologists that will defend their games no matter what.

SFV doesn't have an Arcade Mode = "who needs Arcade Mode"
SFV adds Arcade Mode = "OMG HYYYYPE!!!!"
