Football powerhouse Argentina could be out of the World Cup this Tuesday

Shit's crazy. For those that follow Football, the South American World Cup qualifiers have been some crazy shit this year. Tuesday is the last day of matches, and Argentina (visitors) could be eliminated if they lose to Ecuador. There are other fucking intense matches like Peru vs. Colombia, which could determine who gets into the WC or not.

What do you say GAF, does Argentina still have a chance? Or is this it for Messi?

I think they have to win the next match with a 7 goal difference to even have a chance to make it to the playoffs to get into the 2018 World Cup.
 
As a Scotsman, I am not familiar with this World Cup thing you are talking about, because we are invariably matched against like, Germany and Italy during qualifiers. It SOUNDS familiar tho.
 
Would that be the first time that a World Cup finalist has failed to even qualify for the next tournament?

On the slightly off topic Colombia I have no clue how I am gonna survive Tuesday's match.

So badly wanted the 3 points sonthe game vs Peru would be somewhat carefree. It's borderline must win.
 
Eh, I've been too busy watching our Socceroos (Australia) fall over themselves. Play alright, get a the lead, proceed to die in the ass. We flat out struggled against Syria, in a match we have to play because we sucked so hard in the automatic qualifiers.

If we get past Syria (IF) we play the US or Panama. Obviously hoping we won't be playing the US, but even still, our team is capable of losing to anyone at this point in time.

Unlike our Womens team the Matildas who are absolutely fucking amazing with their past 5 games being 1 win over the US, a smashing of Japan, an absolute annihilation of Brazil followed up by 2 more dominant performances over Brazil just recently. Love our girls.
 
I hope they do, they have SO much talent in their team, and they are SO bad at choosing good coaches.

They need a wake up call like this. They need a coach who doesn't just rely on Messi 24/7.

Would be a shame to see him out of the WC, dude plays a mean game of soccer. But it is what it is.
 
All my Argentine friends are going to have a tantrum to end all tantrums if it happens. My Chilean friends will be celebrating like they won the lottery.

No. 7-1 was the pinnacle and always will be. That was a 'remember where you were for the rest of your life' moment in football. I can remember every moment like it was yesterday and I'm Irish.

Neymar is great but you can't give him all the credit. Brazil took a chance last WC with a super young team and it eventually fucked them over hard, but now we're seeing them reap the full benefits.
 
I think Argentina will draw, so it all depends on the Peru match. If Peru doesn't lose I think Argentina is out. Gone. Bye bye. Of, and Paraguay can still finish ahead of Argentina (they are playing against Venezuela so there is 99% of probability of winning).

I really think Argentina will be out, they ar enot playing well, they are not scoring goals, they are playing in the altitude of Quito. They are desperate.

Ofc Messi might come and score 3 goals and qualify, but it's not likely to happen.

Actually nobody, outside of Barcelona fans, give a shit about seeing Messi and his merry band of underachievers at the world cup.
 
Messi played an insane match against Peru and even then the mediocre Argentinean forwards couldn't score. It is sad to see him not go, but football is a team sport.
 
I usually support our NT, but for this time I would be OK with this, just for the delicious schadenfreude towards our shit politicians that want to throw billions into a stupid endless pit (2030WC)

Would feel bad for Messi though, dude doesn't deserve the shitty coaches and companions he has.
 
Only got themselves to blame if they do miss out. Qualifying in CONMEDOL should be ridiculously easy. Especially a team the caliber of Argentina. Shows not to taken qualification for granted.

Would be quite interesting if they didn't make it. But eh, Messi will probably step up to the plate in this last game and get them through.

If Argenfuckingtina can't beat out the likes of Peru and others for a spot you can't claim it's some arduous region. It's hard BECAUSE OF TEAMS LIKE BRAZIL AND ARGENTINA AND URUGUAY AND CHILE.

You can't cop pleas when you have Messi and are a top FIVE side in the fucking WORLD.
