Dragon Ball FighterZ - Characters, Specials, and Stages Discussion

You could pretty easily come up with a moveset for Kale built around brute strength in her berserker form.

Cauli is a different story.

I rather they wait where Kale is concerned since she just got a new form that she has yet to try out.

Could make it like 18 and 17.

I rather they not, there's really no need for it, nor does it make sense like 17 and 18 did, all they ever did together was that Christmas esque beam attack. Only other team-up I wouldn't mind is Black and Zamasu, since they too have been shown working together in a fight.

While it may not mean anything for this game I do want to point out that Arc has no problems taking liberties with characters to diversify movesets. See Teddie and Junpei in the Persona Arena games.

Again I don't think they will, doesn't mean they can't.

I wonder how many more suicidal characters that might get added to the roster before the game comes out. First we have 16 that has his "Insta-Kill" move that leaves him with a sliver of health. Now we have Tien almost murdering himself with the move he used against Cell to keep him at bay. Anyone else we're forgettin-

...

Wouldn't it be cheap to add in Majin Vegeta though and his ultimate attack?

I am wondering how much they are going to adjust the damage for the final release...

It's seems fair as is because Tien gets no red health from all the self inflicted damage. So while 18 could get tagged out and regain everything Tiens fucked. Good risk/reward mechanic.

If anything else, it would be a good move for Tien to use in case if you have an opponent who has about half their health left, and to either close the match up or just get rid of a player's point character. If anything else, this is a good example of how Tien not only won't be able to take out an enemy at full health, but he will leave himself in a poor condition too as a result (if he doesn't immediately kill over, to which that would be interesting if Tien could actually be KO himself if he is being too reckless).

I'm the only one who wants Android 19? I never see anyone talking about him

And I don't know why you guys want kid Goku in the gam...

You very well may be; I've never heard of Android 19 having fans. 19's generally seen as that just that clownbot that served to show how cool Super Saiyan Vegeta was, in my experience. If the plot didn't involve Androids, I'd say his odds were nil. And even then, I'm probably overselling his odds because I love Frankenstein's Monster characters so I have a soft-spot for Android 8, & opening the doors for one of those 2 opens the door for the other. And probably 13.

Kid Goku, on the other hand, was cute & can have a unique moveset involving the Power Pole & Oozaru.

If they truly want to make the new form justice they'd need to make it
CPU controlled Only, Truly movement before you even think about moving

Also, Undead stop Paul Gale'ing us. You know how we'll get if you get even a single character wrong...

R5p9G94.gif

That's... huh. I really like that spoilered idea!

Forgot about Paul Gale, by the way. Remember when he tried to hype us for a PSASBR leak, but it was just Cole & he acted like Cole wasn't an inevitable choice for a Sony crossover? Good times.

I don't think Undead has insider knowledge for that same reason, either. We already have Super content in the game between the SSB incarnations, some of Trunks' moves, Gowasu's table & TV in the lobby, & a Future Trunks arc stage clinch we'll see stuff to that point. And if they are unlikely to use moves not explicitly in the show, Beerus, Hit, & Goku Black are the only Super characters with enough screentime for that.

That article from GI was pretty meh if you've payed any sort of attention to this game lol. Everyone and their mom has done comparisons to the manga and show, Oh well, just happy this game is getting all of this attention.

I want to be able to tag Piccolo in to facetank a super like he did when he died to Nappa.

yes great sales will mean great long term support. perhaps even better then Guilty gear which has been amazing

It sounds like they plan on supporting this game more than any other of their games according to GI. This will be maybe the 2nd game I would buy a season pass for, if they have one.

I mean with Bamco behind them and this game being as big as I think it will be, I don't think its unbelievable. Unless of course they come out with a sequel a year later. Lol.

I don't think anything is taking the front seat away from Guilty Gear/ XRD 3, which I assume Team Red is currently working on concurrently to this project.

IDK this just seems like another licensed project for them. I don't see it being some long term project. I imagine there will be a revision down the road but that's about it. It's not being developed as a content platform like SFV

Except that is exactly what GI said the devs said: looking at it as a platform like SFV. I'm just going off what GI said.

I mean if that's the case they're literally the only source reporting that so far. Even the devs themselves haven't really suggested that up until this point in direct interviews and statements.

I'm cool with it if that's what it ends up being I just don't see it atm based on what they've shown and ArcSys past history with titles like this

Okay guys. I've seen the light. Fuck DB Super...the Anime.

These characters in the manga are trill as fuck.

Zamasu is fucking awesome, it is criminal what the anime did to his climax and final form.

Black, Zamasu, Fused Zamasu, literally any form needs to be in this game.

Toyotaro draws very good (That SSR Black picture is god like) but he is a terrible writer.

He ruined Black and Fusion Zamasu's personalities.

I'm not even kidding, if there wasn't an anime version of Black and Zamasu then I wouldn't even be a fan of the characters.

As opposed to what the manga did, where he
ran away like a bitch before getting erased?

Don't like manga Black either.

This. In the anime he evens laughs at Zeno.

In the manga the universe doesn't even need to be erased. Infinite Zamasu isn't a real danger to it.

Doesn't matter how you look at it, the anime handled things way better.

There are certain things I prefer in the anime to the manga...and vice versa.

The Trunks fight with Dabra was way better than the quick little flashback in the anime.

But just about everything else in the anime was way better. I think Merged Zamasu looked a lot cooler in the manga.

I can see arguments that say, blue ruins the sanctity of SS God in that somehoe Vegeta can do it despite there being no evidence he can attain God

but original SS is something every living sayajin obtained and its possible sayajins from that universe can obtain it easier (given they lack the ape we know they have different physiology).

Also consider that even Cabbas base form at introduction is at a level that would have been ridiculous in mid z

The main difference is how Black's power-up's were in both versions.

The manga made it so he could only gain power whenever he was healed from taking damage. Basically the way zenkais were back in the day.

Black was fucking broken in the anime. Punch him in the gut hard enough and he gets stronger. Pain in general just added to his power, making him almost unstoppable. I liked the idea of Vegeta using Super Saiyan God to channel his Super Saiyan Blue attacks, though. That was cool.

Overall, Black just felt like more of a complete villain in the anime.

Yeah, SSR Goku Black looked really good in the manga, the problem was his really poor characterization, he barely did shit. Not getting naked torso Merged Zamasu in the anime was a damn shame.

I don't know about his characterisation, but Black in the Manga had a better set of moves, imo.

Bringing Janemba's portal attacks into his moveset was a good way to portray the overwhelming force he was capable of. And summoning the worlds strongest metal to hurl at his opponents was a good callback of the Supreme Kai's abilities.

Black's gonna be nasty in this game. Imagine the lower health he gets, the stronger his attacks become. Damn.

This is actually not a bad idea at all. Hopefully they do.

I'm not even kidding, if there wasn't an anime version of Black and Zamasu then I wouldn't even be a fan of the characters.

I guess one would think that because there was just more dialogue in the anime due to them having to stretch everything out? Black was essentially a completely different character to Zamasu in the anime.

IMO Zamasu in the manga was a far more coherent character, across all his forms. Black and Zamasu really felt like the same person across two different bodies. There's none of that "beautiful rose" stuff in the Manga, and Black is essentially just Zamasu in another body...

But i feel like the manga did a better job of just setting up Zamasu (the Kai) as a character, since it's that key personality that seems to be behind Zamasu, Black, Fused and Infinite Zamasu. The anime kind of compensated for that by making Black a completely different person.

Don't like manga Black either.

The idea that Zamasu would think for a second that he's above Zeno is laughable, especially when removing Beerus from the mix was such a big part of his plan.

But i'm mainly talking about his upgraded forms. That zombie arm is REALLY stupid.

Fused Zamasu's fighting style in the manga was insane, and i feel as though it easily makes up for all of the flashy shit the Anime added to Black. And, he looked infinitely cooler.

This is why I feel like the manga in general is just written waaaaaay better than the anime to me.

I've only finished the Black arc, but already the balance of power in the Manga so far seems to be SIGNIFICANTLY more sensible than the anime. Case in point, Trunks. The Gods of Destruction also feel way more formidable -- from start to the Black arc, there has been absolutely NO contest between Beerus and anyone else in the manga, while the anime filler'd their clash up to make them seem way closer than they really were.

Black seems a bit stronger in the anime, but Fused Zamasu is easily wayyy more formidable than any form of him in the anime.

and i have no fucking idea why the anime jumped through so many hoops to make Trunks some kind of Deus Ex Sayian of a fighter. It was ridiculous.

but TL;DR alot of the differences between the two can probably just be boiled down to "Anime has a shitton of filler" and "The manga's art is a shitton better"

I actually think Toyotaro's DBS art is just... not great. Looks like a Toriyama imitation... which is 100% what it is and is supposed to be, but I just can't get with it at all.
