Dragon Ball FighterZ - Characters, Specials, and Stages Discussion

The correct Adult Gohan outfit ranking is as follows

Piccolo gi Gohan > Saiyaman outfit w/ no mask > Great Saiyaman > Tracksuit Gohan > Goku's gi Gohan

So, you guys think that they'll do the DBS characters as the final reveals or do you think it'll be Android 21 being playable?

21 seems to be something they're being very guarded about.

I can easily see them holding on to until they reveal that she's the game's end boss (who then is unlockable, much like Super Blues are if you don't preorder).

When is next reveal? I'm thirsty for more reveals!

V-jump should be leaked sometime over the weekend or early next week.

He means that it is likely that they won't use the manga as a reference for their moveset. Like SSB Vegeta for example, he had a manga exclusive attack they could've used, but they didn't.

Or with Black, he's arguing that they'll focus on his moveset in the anime, rather than anything he does in the manga.

Nah...

He's both bad and ass in RoF.

Yes

Or you could just mix up both movesets
Cuz you know
Janemba isn't canon..... 👀

They could, but I wouldn't be surprised either if they just stick to the anime counterparts. After all, if SSB Vegeta, who was in the most need of standing out from SSJ Vegeta, didn't pull anything from the manga, then I wouldn't count on other characters doing so.

Who knows though

that has been said since the game was announced, I am still waiting yo
The point is that there’s quite a few nods towards Super in the game already. Hell, the DBS Future Trunks arc’s future city is a stage in DBFZ.

As for the name DBFZ, I’m guessing you don’t know the real reason behind the name.

A serious question to Dragon Ball Super haters,

why do you hate the series? at least, please answer my question honestly. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to bait anyone but the issue is I haven't seen entire season(s) of Dragon Ball Super. Basically I'm kinda stuck at episode 19 but I'm just curious to see why haters hating on this series. I noticed that the hates of DBS have been popped up pretty often.

I assume that people would be more forgiving with DBS considering that I know and heard that it's way better than DB GT.

It gets better from Episode 28 onwards, Heath.

Even if all the announcements from now on were Dr. Rota in a different hat you'd still say that nothing from Super is in the game

I mean Goku has Super Saiyan Blie Kaioken x10 for crying out loud, that was his most iconic super move before UI.

Also to the question at hand, it's either a combination of Super's first 27 episodes being hot trash (they were guys.) And the fact that Super constantly challenges the notion that Dragon Ball is about muscular man kicking the shit out of each other to save the world, and instead returns to it's roots of being a fun trip filled with dumb colorful characters while still delivering on the action side.

I mean Super has had exactly 1 Z style villain since the non movie content started.

The rest are just characters that fight the heroes because of different circumstances and they are usually silly kindhearted guys

Also they dared to make girls strong and they even had the gal to have one of those girls disrespect Goku!

That last one is thankfully not very present on Gaf. But there's always someone...

Lets just make a list of the Super stuff that's already in DragonBall FighterZ so we can shut down this stupid discussion that keeps popping up every 5 pages.

  • Golden Frieza is already in the game. When Golden Frieza debuted in Ressurection F the movie was under the DragonBall Z banner, but that's only because Super hadn't debuted yet (it was like a month out) and before the movie was even released it was already common knowledge that the arc was going to be in Super. So Golden Frieza is a Super character.
  • Gowasu's GodTube stuff is in the game
  • Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta are in the game
  • Goku uses the Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken attack.
  • SSB Goku and Vegeta are back in their normal attire, which doesn't happen in DragonBall Super until the Black arc
  • Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta has a super which involves him doing a manuever from his fight with Goku Black
  • Bulma is in her DragonBall Super attire in one of the story cutscenes we've seen in previews

You forgot the Future Trunks arc stage.

I mean, that's the issue, it's not like it's the first time any of this has been said. Hence the cycle begins anew lol, all that's prolly left now is for someone to chide you guys over getting mad for explaining yet again that Super content is already in the game.

Haven't Super characters appeared in every DB game since the show started? I don't get where this sentiment that they won't be included is coming from. Why wouldn't they put new characters from the new DB show in the new DB game?

Blue Haired Trunks has an emote

Xenoverse tean even worked a fuckton at last minute to include Hit into Xenoverse 2

And they decided to sell Preorders on Black

I'm someone who turned around eventually to DB Super, but I remember feeling pretty annoyed at the series for a couple of reasons.

Inconsistent power scaling. Prior to DB Super, it was pretty easy for fans to understand how strong a character is in comparison to others. Krillin is the strongest human, but is no match for any of the Saiyans. The Androids were about as strong as SS Ultra/SS2, Buu was as strong as SS3, etc. But DB Super introduced a lot of wrinkles;
Krillin is able to hold off a SSB Kamehameha, and Android 18 swipes it away. Android 17 is somehow able to push Goku to SSB... because he trained in the forest?
It just felt like everything you used to know about DBZ was out the window without proper explanation.

The introduction of Super Saiyan God, and how it quickly became irrelevant to Super Saiyan Blue. On one hand, I understand that SS Red was a movie transformation, and they grandfathered it in to the main series while progressing forward. But I still feel like SS Red never got its fair shake - it was used once vs Golden Frieza, and then
we never see it again until the Universe tournament arc (which redeems this point a little)
. Power transformations used to at least stay around as the top dog for a couple of meaningful fights (SS1 - relevant since Frieza arc, SS2 - cell arc to Majin arc, SS3 - all of Buu arc); but this God form really feels inconsequential once SSB was introduced.

Where do we go from here? Part of what made DBZ interesting was that while the plot and combat was outlandish, it was still "relatively" grounded - it's planetary conflict. Now we're at points where people are destroying entire existences - where is the series going to go from here? How do you raise the stakes even more?

Like I said, I'm a fan now but it took me a bit to get here :)

There's literally only 1-2 people saying that Super stuff won't be in the game. Most everyone else says "yeah Super's in the game but it stops at the Black Arc" and that's that. People are focusing on the small number of posters just to get their "hahah I love Super it's in the game" stuff off without understanding that most of us get that. The game will have Beerus, Hit, Black and SSB. I mean, we get it.

People need to relax because it's not like most don't think there's some Super stuff in the game. It's like ganging up on the small amount of posters simply because when you can literally link them a video saying "it's in the game." That's lame.

You see, Goku would totally fire a Universe Buster Kamehameha to his best friend's face

There's no other way to explain that beyond saying Krillin is God level

If you have an issue with random power boosts then I don't understand how you made it through DragonBall Z

To be fair, DBS is a bit sloppier about it, so that coupled in with the fact that we're older and more discerning means that people are less likely to put up with it.

There's literally only 1-2 people

I mean, this is not true at all, it's been going on forever, even post-SSB Kaio-Ken, otherwise you wouldn't have people that get tired of explaining otherwise. Neither do said posters do it in a civil manner either (When's the last time someone asked something like "Do you think Super characters be in this game?" There'd be no good reason to be hostile towards a post like that.), the majority of the time it is clearly meant to get a reaction out of others, even when they actually aren't aware that Super content is already in. On one hand, yes, we should not fall so easily for the obvious bait, but nevertheless, they clearly know what they're doing.

They're a bit looser with it, but in a way that I think makes the show better since it's done to make the supporting cast more useful/relevant again. But Z was pretty loose with power buffs also. For example, between Namek exploding and returning to Earth Goku gets a ridiculous power boost that never gets explained.
