It's not impossible, but it does happen, but it's still really weird. If it was just the accusation and EL's past history, I would have been all for a good dogpile. But in this case, there's enough doubt that I can only withhold judgement. It's possible she exaggerated the event. It's possible it happened exactly as is. But with what we know right now, I can't pass a verdict.
As the other guy said, admitting to shitposting isn't really better.

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that society has formed into these two tribal factions factions, I just wish for the sake of accuracy this faction wouldn't pretend to call itself liberal or left wing. It's a tribe and nothing more, and if you disagree with any detail of that tribes world view then you are by definition a member of the other tribe, the alt-right. Any existence of debate outside of that dichotomy is totally alien to them.
In fact, if you even make an argument they don't understand, which happens worryingly often for a group of people who claim to be so deeply politically aware, then that alone is enough to brand you heretical.

It really doesn't. Most people use the term for convenience to brand a very vocal minority of people who generate hysteria of issues that do not warrant hysteria. Like it or not that term exists and perfectly suits a sub-section of people who act in a parochial and condescending manner to people who usually don't deserve to be treated that way at all. How would you guys feel about a Hall of Infamy thread? People are always angered at being banned or suspended without any reason or any real justification. The thread is where mods that ban a user have to post the ban, the evidence and why.
I've seen people swear they banned for no reason, only to look up their last posts and see that the ban was entirely justified.
It adds the transparency we were and are currently missing.

For anyone who thinks that things will be alright and everything will be the same...they won't. The admin should have passed the administration of the forum to someone else until everything was cleared up, the amirox situation should have been dealt a long time ago when the individual in question robbed money from some users to buy drugs. I don't know how the hell amirox managed to maintain his account after that strike one and Evilore telling people that he didn't know amirox's real name, when he clearly did, while banning members for just mentioning the situation was pretty shitty.
It's a shame that the actions of an individual tainted and destroyed this community and I pity the individuals that treated the forum as a second home and use it as a friend who listened.
