It's a V657-9039. I just searched and it looks I can get one way cheaper than when I bought mine! It looks slightly different though. Mine is all stainless steel with no other finishes.

There are some new Seikos that I like though. After I replace this I may look into another or 2!

edit: ohh they are all ebay sites. I may not be able to get it, unless I go through Seiko's official.

Take it to a reputable watchmaker/service place and get the band replaced, throw it on a nato strap or get a Seiko bracelet. Still get a new one if you want but you'll still have your old school joint lol. Remember most makes like Seiko increase in value the longer you keep them. 👍

I have been going to this place to get it "fixed" every year, but it's just old. Sometimes the clip mechanism opens up and my watch falls off LOL

I'm not sure I can get an appropriate replacement easily - the clip has the SEIKO name on it, and it also has a part number that probably corresponds with the actual watch.

I went to Seiko's site and a search for the watch part no. did not return any results, so this is going to be a manhunt. Will probably be a month long email exchange - I'm sure they still have something. But however, they do have some really nice looking new watches there!

There's a company called Uncle Seiko ( seriously ) that specializes in bracelets for all makes. Might be worth a gander lol.
 
I was never a fan of watches but since getting my amazfit bip for fitness Im really liking idea of getting something nice most part as man jewelry.

Need to track down my watch see what brand it is. Got a pair with wife as a gift from in-laws.

Maybe it's just as I get older I appreciate such things more. Both as a visual piece and as recognition of craftsmanship.

I know for me it was literally like a switch went off when I turned 50. It was like, hey these things are super cool and I've virtually ignored them lol.
 
I've got a Citizens Eco Drive(stainless steal) that I've had for 15 years and a Fossil minimalist(Black steal) that I'm wearing as my daily.
I'm not to snooty and I don't care for overly ornate watches so those 2 simple watches do it for me.
 
Grabbed mine out this morning. Funny this thread reminded me I already have a watch when I had been thinking of getting something.
Was longines automatic.

That's a dope watch! Longiness is a very respected brand with history.

I'm loving seeing some Orient, they are super high quality and value. I'm going to get a gen 2 Bambino, just waiting for a good sale.
 
I just can't get into smartwatches no matter how technically advanced they are. They look like an electronic [prisoner] tag or some sort of heart monitor.
 
The Citizens up there are nice.

But I just cannot use leather or skin bands anymore. Last one I had started smelling like I was carrying a dead frog on me at all times.

B Breakage yeah LOL. I also think they would seem finicky to use. Too small to actually navigate thru menus, etc.
 
Had bought a Seiko kinetic watch since I walk a lot, but lost it at the beach. Stayed for over 10 years without a wrist watch till 2 years ago, when I decided to enter the club again and got a Seiko Solar Chronograph due to the sunny climate. Really like it so far and did not regret buying it.
 
I quite like the Curtis & co Big time worlds. I might order one, been mulling on it for a few months now. Ive been wearing a Garmin Fenix 3 sapphire for a few years which is a pretty heavy and bulky watch. I'm just worried I'll miss the functionality I've become accustomed to. I wouldn't be happy paying a lot for a watch that I only break out on specific occasions.

I had a Seiko Kinetic too. I actually did not like it because when it was dark and it wasn't charged it would not work. LOL at the beach though. I bet it was fully charged for it's new finder.

Wait wait. I am thinking of another watch. The Kinetics work from movement.
If you didn't use it you would have to shake your wrist to get it started, correct me if wrong?

2nd edit: The Kinetic, the one I had... the numbers lit up with sunlight. That was my confusion! :P

That G-Shock. Man I used to love those. And they work well, easy to use the functions for running or bike riding. Looks good and comes in a ton of styles. And they NEVER break.

Yes, I remember it charged mainly while walking. You felt a slight charge in your wrist, like a dynamo
 
Almost twenty years without a wrist watch.. But for some reason I started craving one and bought a Galaxy Watch. Now almost two weeks later I "still" love it. Funny because I swore I'd never buy a smart watch..

Btw I've received quite a few nice watches as gifts over the years, but all of them ended up in "the watch drawer" after a few days because I didn't see the point. The Galaxy Watch is still on my wrist so I guess it'll stick.

I'm bringing this one back to life. That watch is amazing, but it's a tad big for my taste at 40.5 MM. I actually REALLY like the simplicity of the Orient design though. Are there any brands that look similar, but are 38MM? Hopefully at the same price point.

Paid $10 for this bad boy 5 years ago. It has been in two oceans and four seas. Thing is a fucking beast! Says it has a 10 year battery life.

So I basically only pay $1 a year for the convience of knowing the time which is the best goddamn BANG 4 YOUR BUCK!

Honestly there really isn't a lot in that price range in an automatic other than the Seiko 5 which isn't really the same. For a domed crystal, 38mm I would take a gander at the vintage market, and try on a Bambino, even at its size it wears small.

That and the Casio F-91 are 10 dollar watches with rich horological history. Try putting a nato strap on it, they look cool as hell.

Fuck it. I pulled the trigger on the Bambino. I got the cream colored one with the brown band as my other watch has a black face and I want a little variety.

The watch came in the other day. You were right they do wear a bit on the smaller side, which is exactly what I was looking for. Even 40.5 mm wasn't nearly as big as I was expecting. I guess in my head I was thinking it was gonna be some Daniel Wellington monstrosity.

I guess the only downside which I was reading is that the watch strap width is 21mm at the base which can be a difficult size to find, but I'm not really worried about that right now. I actually like the strap it came with.

Excellent 👍 yeah the 21 mm size kind of sucks but there's enough stuff out there, and tbh to get an automatic of this quality that looks this good the next contenders are triple the price.
 
I'm big on watches, just picked up the new Seiko "5"kx, which is somewhat controversial among enthusiasts given the established love of the SKX and the fact that the new 5s don't have ISO certification. I didn't really care, though, the SRPD79 looks badass all blacked out on a NATO, and I got it on sale at Kohl's for $218 with free shipping. I'm considering buying the SRPD59 as well, because I love the orange sunburst on the dial. I'd ditch the oyster strap and slap that bitch on a NATO and it'll look sharp as hell.

I'm a huge G Shock fan, but the original Square is one of my faves. This all metal 5000 is fucking badass looking, plus it still has MB6, solar, and bluetooth. It's also slightly larger than the 5610, which looks a little small on my wrist, truth be told.

The Suunto Core is 100ish now on Amazon. This is a great watch that was selling for like 3 or 400 when The Equalizer came out. Yes in my mind I am The Equalizer.

The OO7 and Turtle are always going to be classics but they needed a refresh at the entry level and the new 5s are generally really cool. Yes it's not an IS0 certified diver, but it's still good for any water and I wear divers all the time butI doubt I will ever actually scuba dive lol

Yeah, I should probably pick one up soon as they're going up in price as supply diminishes. Thing is, I've been too busy with other stuff. I bought an Orient Triton with a killer blue dial, an Orient Kamasu red dial, and the new camo titanium Square:

Sweet! I really like the blue sunburst dial with the orange seconds hand. I plan on getting an Omega Seamaster at some point. I have a Rolex Explorer, but I don't care for it -- it's way, way too small at 35mm (my wife got it for me) so I'll trade it for the Omega and be happy.

The Geneve is quite small as well, but I got slim wrists, so it works for me..

Yeah, absolutely. I'm envious because a lot of killer watches only come in smaller sizes but they look ridiculous on me because my wrists are bigger. Even some of the less expensive but still historically relevant stuff like the Hamilton field watch is pretty much unwearable for me. Luckily, Hamilton released larger versions of their Khaki line.
