Anthem Native 4k on X according Bioware

The Anthem team has been able to leverage the power of the Xbox One X to deliver enhanced graphics to our players. The added GPU power of this console allows Anthem to render at native 4K and with HDR. To complement the increased image quality of 4K, we have also increased the resolution at which we render shadows in the game, and we have enhanced the rendering of in-game terrain. Finally, the added memory of the Xbox One X allows us to increase the number of meshes and textures we stream into the player's view at any given moment.

Yeah, from what I know of the demo, it wasn't exactly A) pretty or B) smooth. So, you know, a dog turd in 4k is still a turd.

Maybe I was too hard on the game... MAYBE... I mean when it was first shown it was an instant pre-order... but man, the gameplay just isn't there... and that's more important here.

Wasn't it known that the demo was an old build? At least I thought I read that somewhere.

Cool for PR for the masses...but this game has plenty of problems beyond trying to maintain that 4k 30. Speaking to that though....the first area in the full game blew me away with it's clarity and smoothness. It felt way more high fidelity than the demo...but then, when I launched into the main world, there seemed to be a noticeable drop off in quality of what I was seeing...not sure if I was just used to it, or that first area was more linear so more polished...

Doesn't mean much when the framerate is that bad. It wouldn't of been that bad if it was a locked 30 but the fact it struggles to keep that means they've should have gone for a lower resolution and tried to achieve a locked 60.

I played on the 15th for about 2 hours and I love how Bioware has this thing of making the introductory level of the game absolutely fantastic and the rest of the game mediocre by comparision. The same thing happened with Andromeda. I wasn't falling for it this time. No you're right to be skeptical of this game. I don't feel the missions have enough variety and I generally was not having fun with the game.

Is it? I have like 9 hours in the EA access XOneX and if you said this thing is down sampling from 4K on my 1080p screen my first reaction would to question the release notes.

And I'd like a 1080p mode this is really the case.

Frame rate smooth, go play final version

Have there been any frame rate tests done to the final version?.

Because in the Demo both the Pro and the X1X would have benefited from lower resolutions to make the Frame rate more stable.

Looks like DF got it right in the end. Quality work, friends. Being able to disable that post-processing was nice, since it must have been weird that the PC version was showing CBR artifacts too.

I was always planning to get it on the xbox one X
Still boggles my mind that console is TRUE 4K..
Just gonna wait as i want to know what inapp fuckery EA will patch in later...

Its one of those many that others dislike because someone dislike because reasons unknown because everyone have its own taste for game.

I haven't played retail yet and I'm still getting caught up on the OT thread.

I'm sure the game has plenty of flaws but I do feel like there's a group of people who have an axe to grind with BioWare over making a looter shooter and not a ME or DA game
